Tony Sparano should resign. What was done, in the manner it was done, was a betrayal, disrespectful and a vote of no confidence by the owner. No one would blame Sparano for resigning. This is a sorry state of affairs.

A General Manager has broad, overall responsibility for a business or organization. This would include, I surmise, in reference to a football team, the person that overseas revenue from ticket sales, concessions, parking, tv, costs of operation including employee salaries and compensation, personnel hiring and firing based on the needs of the team in terms of coaches, staff, administration, groun

Adam Schefter reported this morning on ESPN that Ross and Company never provided a firm offer to Harbaugh. Maybe that was the case with Gruden and Cowher. I have to say that all this is quite puzzling. It appears in hindsight that they were simply testing the waters, putting feelers out, but they were not discreet in going about it. Maybe being discreet is no longer possible with eyes and

Henning is gone. Not all that bad. There's time for Sparano to consider the negative remarks made by some of his players about micromanaging. He can change the culture with the hiring of new coaches here and there. Let's see what happens at the QB position. That and who is hired as the new OC will tell us something about the 2011 season. Don't throw in the towel yet guys. --

Don't jump to conclusions. Being offered an unbelievable salary is mind blowing... shocking. It requires thought and discussion with family members. Harbaugh, in my opinion, would sleep on it after discussing things with his wife and family. If he decides to decline Ross's offer, I can't imagine he would do it in a way that was disrespectful. He's not Nick Saban. Think about it. If someon

My observations: When a team doesn't gel, fans first start looking at players who aren't cutting it. Then the next step is criticism of the FO for not hiring the right FAs or drafting better college prospects. Then when things continue to go south, it's bad coaching, and finally stupid ownership. Guess what, it's all of these. It's a prevalent situation with most average and below average team

What about the Rooney Rule? Not interviewing eligible minority coaches could lead to the NFL imposing a fine on the Dolphins if they do hire Harbaugh. The drama continues....

When I read "VINCE YOUNG ON THE MARKET" for a millisecond I wondered what good advice he has on buying and selling stocks. He's damaged goods after his tantrums and possibly on the same path as JaMarcus Russell and Jeff George.

What about Marty Schottenheimer? I always liked this guy and believed he had the ability to not only get the teams he coached into the playoffs but could win the SB. He's has the credentials and experience to make Miami a winner again and perhaps a SB contender. At 68 he should still have plenty of fight left in him to make the Dolphins a class act again. His abilities apparently have m

My predictions-- Saints beating Seattle (28-14); Colts defeating Jets (31-24); Ravens defeating KC (24-17) Packers nipping the Eagles (21-20).

Ha! Hmmm. I heard he had bad knees, his throwing arm was highly medicated and will require foot surgery very soon. Definitely a 3rd round Dolphin pick.

Ahh, the rumors, the conjecture. Reminds me of Roswell, NM. Was that a moving van heading for Sparano's house? Or was it going to Henning's home? Hmmmm! Now there's a good rumor humor. ----- I don't know much about Ireland (the country yes, the man, no). However, his retention, if that is true, may be because of strong management and organizational skills. Again, fans have no id

A micromanager has a tendency to be anal about the smallest things and act as though (he or she) is the only person with that knowledge or the ability to carry out a task. A micromanager is also a person who will not take a reasonable risk because they fear failure. They are insecure and overcompensate for their shortcomings especially when they finally reach a position of power. They oversee m

I'm used to typing "waive or waiver"--yes it was a typo rather than a misuse of the word. Fortunately I'm not a sheep farmer and never screw up ewe for you.

I don't believe there is a QB good enough to be a franchise QB that we could land in the next draft. NC will probably get the first pick, but from what I surmise, they have multiple holes to fill on the team. Clausen has very little support. His rookie year is not a real test of what he can do. So, perhaps the NC will opt for a lineman or rb. We must either continue with Mr. Mediocre at QB l

Concur. The Dolphins' FO get a D- in acquiring players at TE that can make plays (aside from Fasano). Maybe Shuler will work out. Incognito will play C. Murtha is out so at RT. McQuistan is to line up at RT. I can foresee a rough day for the O-line again. No running game, and Henne getting pressured resulting in turnovers. It could be a 3 TD blow out putting an exclamation point on

Since this is a wish list--here goes. #1. Replace the OC with a guy who understand today's fast paced, high scoring passing/receiving game and by doing so moving away from attempting to be a control, ground pounding offensive team. The emphasis should be on passing/receiving a 65/35 ratio between passing and running. #2. Acquire an existing veteran QB who is accurate, makes good decision

I see that Fasano will be out this Sunday against NE because of an injury. Shuler will start in his place. Hope he continues his streak of catches (2 for 2).

I don't know why Charlie Weiss would elect to return to the college ranks when he's shown very good ability coaching at the assistant level in the NFL. His time at HC at ND was forgettable. If he does take the Gator OC job it will be a good thing for the program, but achieving at KC is a good thing too. Without knowing all the reasons, jumping back to the college ranks seems very odd to me. Wei

Fans expected an opening up of the passing game with Marshall and that did not happen. His comment about throwing the ball up for grabs is a little too dangerous, but conceptually, he wants more opportunities down field, not the 10 yard stuff. I'm okay with trying it, but...I'm afraid it's too late to make any difference this season because Henne's not accurate enough to connect on 30+ yard passe

In today's paper there's a short article about rookie Mickey Shuler catching two passes in the Lions game. I knew there had been a drought at TE in the catching department but did not realize just how "dry" it was. I had previously posted that it was good to see Mickey Shuler contributing. Perhaps in the future, he and Fasano will provide two passing targets to hit over the middle and

I didn't see Marshall play that much because he was in Denver, but his reputation for making plays seems to have fallen a bit short with the Dolphins. In previous posts I commented that Henne seldom hit anyone in stride. It was more like a pitcher throwing to his catcher. So, I kind of agree that his stop/catch/and try to run is partially due to not having a ball leading him enough to follow t

Mike Singletary is the first near end of season firing. I wonder how many other teams are going to cut their current HC between now and the SB? Place your bets!

Phinsfan2's comments: These guys (with a few exceptions) are businessmen that made their fortunes outside the football world and they rely on football people they trust to guide them when needed. All you can ask for in an owner is a guy that cares about the team, wants to win, and is willing to put his money where his mouth is." This a keen observation and one that is correct, IMO

Crowder speaks gibberish. My grandson is 2 and he speaks some words and gibberish--but is understandable. Crowder uses an unused portion of his brain, I'm afraid. Hmmm, I wonder if he can accurately count boos. Do you think that if a plumber, electrician, physician etc were booed by his/her customers (patients and so on) they would still be making a living?
