This is a moderated phorum for the CIVILIZED discussion of the Miami Dolphins. In this phorum, there are rules and moderators to make sure you abide by the rules. The moderators for this phorum are JC and Colonel.
You never fire a HC during the season unless you have an able bodied replacement. That means somebody qualified to do the job successfully and who is ready to step in and do it immediately.
Gruden or Billick might be ready to coach again--now.
Keep in mind Sparano is well paid and he's not orchestrating a team to become winners. This is a business and if you compare it to other busi

I'd relieve Sparano of his duties before the next game. If Sparano "didn't have bad luck he'd have not luck at all."
Get Gruden or Bellick in there. They both have coached SB winners. That's lightyears better than Tony. We might win a few games this year under one of them.

The Browns are not a good team. Colt McCoy is not at the level of Henne, yet he makes a throw that wins the game.
Coaching was better than the Fins again. Burning timeouts early remains a foolish thing to do.
Sorely disappointed--and this feeling is becoming all too routine.
LB Burnett is not able to cover a TE. It happens each week. Wasn't he supposed to be able to do this?

Agree with Aqua and Orange that Bush is not being used where he can move the ball and make some plays. It's never going to be between the tackles. Get him outside--sweeps. Or better yet, put him in the slot as a receiver.
No way he can pound the ball.

Some of us have hoped for Bill Cowher or Gruden to become the Dolphins' next head coach (HC). Why hasn't some of the focus been on Billick, after all, he worked with Nolan. Besides, he is defense oriented having coached the Ravens and under his leadership helped them get to a SB and win it.
I wonder if he would take the HC job in mid season? If so, I would think he'd probably keep Nolan an

ChyrenB--I agree, the topic is not worded very well at all. Nonetheless, the message to Sparano is there, and we must assume, that Sparano knows how most of the Dolphins fans feel about the teams lackluster play and current losing streak.
I have serious doubts whether Sparano has the ability to create a winning team. So much so that if it were up to me, I'd be negotiating with a new HC to ta

The connection between the Dolphins and Cowboys is too intimate, IMHO. Can't we find a player who is familiar with the 3-4 defense that was not a former Dallas Cowboy? Is that the only "connection" we have--with one team? Letting Larry Johnson go instead of Jason Trusnik has me questioning the decision making capability of the management.
It's pretty easy to criticize the Miami Do

Yeah--and you can thank Sparano (Capt Sobel) for that feeling! It makes you want to puke.

Monty--that's brilliant. Blow up doll day to fill the empty seats. Not only will it look like a full house, if they wear the opposing colors--there will be no cheering either when the opponent scores.

Samsam--
Did you ever watch "Band of Brothers?" If you have, what we have with Tony Sparano is another Captain Sobel. A guy that talks tough, busts chops, dishes it out, but when put under pressure, falls flat on his face.
Sobel did not earn the respect of his men. Lts Dick Winters and Louis Nixon and several Sgts realized he was a jerk. It finally took some foolish things for Co

Today's Monday and what happened Sunday is in the books. All we have to look forward to is our next opponent the Cleveland Browns. They are 1-1, having defeated the Colts yesterday.
Does anyone think the Fins match up well against the Browns? If so, why?

Sportscasters don't want to go into detail about our games...because
"We are the laughingstock of the NFL."
Very dismal situation....
My optimism, has disappeared after game 2.

When opposing teams look at the schedule and see they play the Fins, do they think, that's going to be a killer game, or do they think, "we should win that one." My guess, is the later. If they all think that we'll be 0-16, if they are right.
I'm going for my 2nd beer. The Texans have our number. It's a zero.

A few days ago I was surprised with all the gloom and doom comments. I join you all now.
Way too much disappointment year after year. There's been no meaningful gains in key positions or coaching positions to be optimistic about.

Our defense is porous. The 3-4 isn't able to stop many running plays and the linebacker coverage against small WRs or quick TEs just isn't there.
I've said it before, our linemen are not strong. The secondary still remains confused. I'll go a step further and say they have the athletic skill but not the smarts to play defense well.
Our offensive line is still allowing too much pressure.

I think buying up the tickets was a good move. People in South Florida need to see a win at home. "Out of sight, out of mind" on Sunday is not a money maker nor does it build fan support.
There should be a "Fan Support Sunday" where a slew of tickets are sold for half price. That would get my attention.
Let's all gear up for a Dolphin victory. "Go Fins!"

Ross it trying to make this place electric. Having actor/rapper Will Smith in the suite really doesn't do it.
If Ross want's electric, he needs to electrify the fan base with thrilling and successful football. Taking teams to the cleaners...making them embarrassed in lopsided Dolphin victories---that will bring about an electric atmosphere. Yeah! Everybody in favor say "aye."

Making little comparisons happens when you move to another job. It's not all that disparaging...just a personality difference between coaching staffs. He seems happy with his new environment.
Great fan support happens in Baltimore because people don't hop on a plan and visit there in any great numbers--not like South Florida. Moreover, we have thousands upon thousands of NY transplants who

Wow--what a lot of gloom and doom already.
The Texans are a good team, not a great team. It should be a competitive game and we have a decent chance of winning.
It's way too early to fold up the tent, pack the banners, burgers, dowse the fire, and remove our Dolphin jerseys.
Let's give the players some encouragement--it doesn't cost any more than negative thoughts and comments.

Writer Mike Berardino's commentary about the Dolphins' practice bubble was interesting. Statistically since the bubble was erected for Saban's team, Dolphin losses at home have steadily increased. The gist of the story is that the Dolphins have gotten soft. Practicing in a controlled environment, they have lost their edge competing in Florida heat and humidity. He theorizes that it should be cl

The entire defense was "ropa-doped" the entire night. The quick paced play got them confused. They couldn't adapt. They also looked exhausted and I sense they were not as tired as they were frustrated. When things are going very badly it's easy to feign exhaustion or cramped muscles to hide the embarrassment.
If the team was truly exhausted--they were playing in our humidity afte

I guess it might be just Gruden speak... but it seemed oddly out of place for someone calling a game."

I'm afraid that Zach Thomas would not have made a difference last night. The defense was in the woodshed all night.

What an excellent game plan--that's NE folks. They did what your supposed to do to your opponent. Keep them confused. Keep them wondering. Keeping them entirely off balance. Absolutely brilliant. They wore us down and we looked totally out classed on defense.
They ran our Defense into the ground and it never recovered.
This loss wasn't Henne's fault. It wasn't the O-line.
