Bengals, Giants and Jets...boy oh boy that some stiff competition for first pick in the next draft. However, any one of those teams could get lucky on a couple of botched plays by the Dolphins and score a victory against us. While we've improved considerably since week 1, lapses in performance are quite possible with a young team. When the Dolphins go into the game with any of these three hor

Ballage seems to head for the defending pack like a insect to bug zapper. Laird is smart and should play more.

I missed the game live, had Veteran Day responsibilities and helped retire about 80 Old Glories. Recorded the game. Today I watched the ballgame and was surprised that we won; surprised to see just how poorly Hoyer played and was happy to see Laird finally get into the offense. The "hit" on Fitzpatrick that was not called as a roughing penalty (missed by the officiating crew) wou

Preston Williams is out so there is one less receiver for Fitzpatrick to throw to. How this will effect the offense is anyone's guess--perhaps Devante Parker will step it up. He has another chance to take center stage. Go Fins.

Note: there is a large problem with the editing features of the program. While attempting to comment as a moderator on one of ChyrenB's posts, the editing feature removed the post. Unintended. I will be contacting Curt to see if he can somehow correct the many glitches the program is producing. Colonel

It's a damn shame that Preston Williams is out for the year. He was a highlight during a season of lost hope. I too hope his surgery goes well and that he has a full recovery. Gesicki is running better routes in my opinion and the passes to him are within reach. Fitzpatrick, while considered a journeyman QB, is far better than many first stringers trying to lead their teams. He has shown cap

Ken stated: "Did you see Gase? Head buried in his offensive schemes." Yes, I did see it and that behavior describes a guy who is: 1. Hiding from onlookers, 2. Hoping to find an answer that really isn't there This is a school boy antic. I did this myself in Jr High when my teacher looked to call on somebody to answer a question that nobody knew. It's a way to try and "disa

Don't sweat it guys. TUA isn't Secretariat and is not a sure thing. Let's see how the other hapless teams progress this year before we start crying in or beer. We are still in the running for the top 1-3 picks.... A victory like today helps bond the players and promotes team work. Nobody knows whether we will win another game or not. It's possible we will, and it's very possible that we won't.

I forget the thread where I posted about Gase not being a leader; he is not and I still don't understand why the ownership picked him to coach the Jets. The guy just doesn't have it. Happy to see the players happy and thrilled about the win. They doused Flores with Gatorade as if it was a big game win. Preston Williams seems to be quite a find--I hope his knee injury is minor and doesn't scr

I couldn't start the game day thread because of the Internet being down in my area this morning. Sorry. Watched the game thus far and we have looked better than expected so far. The last minute of the first half seems to be a problem one fo the Dolphins. Must be a mental lapse for the coaches and the team. We lead the Jets...and hope we can secure our a win.

Well guys, the gimmee score changed momentum and the loss (again) of Howard put too many weak players on the field. What could have been our first win simply slipped away.... I will say the players are playing hard--that's a good thing, however, there's a lack of skilled players, and that's obvious. Next game we play the Jets. I hope we can take outscore them.

Doing well overall, but the last defensive play with an all out blitz, was foolish mistake. TD for Steelers--that was a gimmee.

Okay guys, the game is on National TV. With a group of players that must be tired of losing, perhaps all the talk of them tanking for TUA may make them super hungry for a win. Will it all come together for them tonight? The Steelers are struggling and probably are underestimating the Dolphins and expect to win easily. That could be a mistake. All and all, I hope it's a very competitive game.

Today was not an exhibition of incapacity by the Dolphins (we play against the Steelers on MNF) but by the Jets today against the JAGs. I watched most of the game (except when I dozed off, here and there, during the game). The highlight for the Jets was the use of their TE, Griffin. He was quite good. Other than that, Sam Darnold has promise if and when he has time to throw, which he didn't t

15. Re: Tua
Gentlemen: JC and I have given considerable leeway to those making comments about QBs. This season is a bust and frustration is extremely high, however, show some restraint and stop criticizing each other's opinions on Rosen, Fitzpatrick, Tua and who knows who else that might be high in the next NFL draft. One other very important point to make. The forum has dwindled down to nothing this se

Well, Fins you nailed it with you post. This next game with the Patriots may eclipse the JJ debacle of 62 points. Our defense can't stop their offense.

On the bright side...there's only one way for the Dolphins to go and that's up. Aside from the JJ debacle in the play off game that scored 62 points, this Ravens game is the worst throttling at home. We know it's going to be like this with many good teams. The Dolphins play the Patriots next week. I can't imagine BB wanting to take it easy on his former assistant...to the contrary. I ex

The Brian Flores journey begins. Our newest era of Miami Dolphins football...success needs to be judged by player progress...the standouts, who plays hard, who blocks well, who runs and breaks tackles, who gains yardage after the first hit, who tackles, who covers passes, who puts pressure on the opposing QB etc. Winning the battles on each play comes first and in time, those winning battles

Most losses for the entire NFL this season? Naw, I don't think so. One win is likely, 2 wins possibly, 3 wins there's a chance, but 4, that might be stretching it a bit. Flores is revamping the team. Brian Flores is a leader not like "what's his name" who is the HC of the Jets. Flores will out coach that guy when they meet and the youthful Dolphins will take at least one game from t

TC, lots of folks working hard to prepare for this monster now kicking butt in the Bahamas. Glad to read your post about Laird and happy that he made the team. He is multi-faceted, and I expect he'll come in handy for both QBs. Hopefully Dorian will turn north tomorrow and not come ashore in Florida...it would be great if it turned north and then north east and missed the US entirely.

I didn't know we cut Laird. I thought he was still on the 53 man roster.

Today we learn that Jim Langer, #62, one of football's greatest centers, and HOF player, passed away on 29 August at age 71. Jim was a helluva center between guards Kuechenberg and Little. I remember him well.

Wow, Luck's retirement notification hit the Colts below the belt it appears. I can understand fans booing him for that reason, but not because the guy isn't tough enough or doesn't want to endure more pain. There comes a time when a guy has to say "I'm done." This may have been Luck's time. I don't think he is an Urban Meyer personality and will rest a year and then seek a big contr

I'm leaning toward Fitzpatrick to start the first game of the season. Agree fully that the O-Line is very inexperienced and not very good. Giving the big men a chance to gel will save Rosen from getting the crap kicked out of him and perhaps save him from injury. The old guy is savvy enough to survive.

After watching both preseason games, my thought is "there's not much to write home about." I looked to see who played well, then tried to put a name with the player. It was not hard to keep track as there were only a few who played well for me to put a name with. Preseason is a test. Most hopefuls want to excel, most can't or aren't given enough time to get into a rhythm to show t
