I am sick and tired of hearing that Tua is an elite QB because he has great statistics. Well, he does. But..statistics are compiled AFTER the game. The fact of the matter is that Tua, regardless of numbers, cannot win when he needs to lead his team to an important win. Now, we are out of it. Did his statistics get us the wins that we need? NO! He NEVER has and I doubt that he ever will. But..he has great statistics. What does that matter? WE ARE OUT OF IT! So-isn't it obvious that statistics DO NOT win games, and if it is an important game- neither does Tagovailoa.

Sorry Bro but TUA is many things......a LOSER is not one of them. Otherwise you would have to add Dan Marino to that column as well according to your description.
There is a lot wrong with this Team .....TUA is not the main issue. And if he was .....who is better out there? WARD from Miami U? You put him on this team today he would get clobbered.
Oline could not run block today. Something they did well against lesser teams. THATS the issue against better teams brother. The Trenches.
Best way to explain it.......TUA is our Drew Bledsoe. Good ......but not great. Is Tom Brady out there somewhere in the 6th round? I doubt it. HIGHLY doubt it. So We need to give TUA the tools he needs to win. Starts with a competent Right Tackle (TUA is a Lefty) and a stud Center. A BIG running back....Think Rickey not Achane. Big Tight end who can block WAF. Everyone has to block as well or get waived I dont care how fast you are. BLOCK BLOCK BLOCK , TACKLE TACKLE TACKLE. We need coaches to improve these issues . Its not TUAs fault. Guy would literally die to win.
LOSER he definitely IS. Show me when he has won an important game. You can't, because it hasn't happened. EVER. That is a LOSER in my book, regardless of his excellent statistics. Statistics don't win games, as he has proven, time and time again. I'm tired of people telling me he's 'elite' because of his statistics, the object of the game is to WIN! He doesn't win the ones we MUST have, so...a LOSER.
Rick and TC, I think both of you are correct. Tua is good enough to win provided he has the team behind him to play at his level, which is good but not great. Currently we have a lot of mediocrity at a number of positions that can't improve enough to win against the better teams. The big guys in the trenches must be tougher, stronger and better at their respective positions. The secondary is no great shakes either and are soft on coverage. Our LBs are very average overall. So, we are back to where we started and that is not filling the trenches on offense with "studs." This is Grier's debacle legacy!
If we can land a better QB with a better, stronger arm--that would help, but most importantly, our O-line is our biggest weak point. As for running backs, speed and finesse are great characteristics, but I'd like to see a big, strong full back type runner that can also catch and get yards after the catch. We need to be able to pound the ball when our receivers are out of sync with Tua'a timing passes.
