I think we should go after Mike Vick and then draft a young QB like Newton to play behind him.... I know, I Know, but I think that will give us a good chance at finding a QB. Let Newton learn behind Vick and develop him long term, like Aaron Rodgers was allowed to do.

Just to cancel out the Vick vote. I think its more realistic to think McNabb over Orton (not that its realistic to think Vick) but I know Orton will get more votes on this board than McNabb.
I'd rather move up and draft a QB in the 1st round but if that doesn't happen, just to play along........Kyle Orton.
Orton is underrated and would do a hell of a lot better than Henne or Thigpen as our QB.
Beck,Smith and Quinn can go under the hell no section imo.
Philly ain't letting Vick go at all and Denver just got Tebow, McNabb and Kolb benefit playing the Philly system (see McNabb in Wash).....so Kyle Orton is it!
for those who say vick, i say, why not tom brady or payton manning. the odds of any of those guys getting let go from their team is exactly the same----ZERO
I picked VICK. He is the only player actually worth paying the franchised pricetag. DAMN IT! I want a QB that will avoid the pressure, RUN for the 1st down, or THROW a TouchDOWN!

Except for Orton, there's no one in that list that:
1. We have any chance of getting
AND
2. Is a franchise QB
We'd have to give up draft picks for Orton. At least Volek will be a free agent, and he's better than at least half the guys on that list. I'd like to see us pick up a QB in the 1st round and go after Volek as a backup.

Vick is going to the Highest offer, if Philly doesnt max him out, someone else will, considering Vicks financial situation can you blame him. Philly is paying Kolb big money right now, VIck contract is up this year. Philly also has Desean Jackson raising stink about wanting a new deal. It should be an interesting offseason in Philly for sure. You would think Philly will offer Vick the most but you never know?

Philly is going to do whatever they can to get rid of Kolb, and some team will probably bite. Regardless, I don't see how Kolb's contract will keep them from making Vick a good offer. There are still a lot of teams that wouldn't touch Vick anyway.
That is an AWFUL list to the exception of Tebow and do you actually think Denver is going to trade the guy? and would you really want Alex Smith on this team? Talk about terrible
Why dont we go after someone that has potential like Brian Hoyer or Dennis Dixon to go along with the QB we draft in the 1st round instead of a list that Henne should belong on
And why does Kevin Kolb keep getting mentioned on this board. He SUCKS
I don't believe there is a QB good enough to be a franchise QB that we could land in the next draft. NC will probably get the first pick, but from what I surmise, they have multiple holes to fill on the team. Clausen has very little support. His rookie year is not a real test of what he can do. So, perhaps the NC will opt for a lineman or rb.
We must either continue with Mr. Mediocre at QB like this year, or acquire a qb that has value and who may come to life with the Dolphins. Of all those listed, Quinn may be available. Other cast-off possibilities--Matt Leinart and JaMarcus Russell (FA) (if he can shed 40 pounds). None of these guys have made it but should be given tryouts...nothing to lose at this point.
Kolb will stay with the Eagles and Tebow will remain with the Broncos.

Unfortunately, trades involving players are not allowed until a new CBA is agreed upon. All that can be traded are draft picks. So, making a trade for any of these players any time soon is not an option.
On Sirius NFL Radio this morning, Peter King said that it is possible that free agency may not happen this year. The free agent period cannot begin until the new CBA is in place. If negotiations drag into the summer, it won't allow enough time for guys to get in and learn their new systems, so it may be bypassed in 2011.
yes, I heard what Dolfanmark, is saying from Jeff Darlington when talking about trading up to get one of the top 3 Qb's in this draft.
They have to go get this QB they want or trade up with nothing but Draft picks unless a CBA is done before the draft.
