Bess was very productive...I liked him. But the reality is that we lacked a deep threat, we lacked a power running game ...so he and Hartline were focal points. With Wallace forcing deeper coverage, and Keller improving our TE play, Bess's ability to get open in tight spaces is less important. I can't help but wonder if there were chemistry issues with Tanny or Philbin? because they didn't

Agreed....and I am glad the Bills reached on Manuel....they could have drafted a better WR and gotten Ej in the 2nd round.

They may still get Albert...or they might sign someone else...but the negotiations had the exact effect of lulling all of the other teams into thinking...'no- problem...the Dolphins are trading up for a Tackle...they are not after our guy'...and too bad for the Eagles....it was a smokescreen. The fact that they did not trade for Albert, nor drafted a Tackle who was there, shows that they were

They could have had Albert...and still can. Ireland talked about trading up to #1 if he needed too...and in the same conference talked about drafting Tackles... When you talk THAT much about your plans and desires before the draft...you are either an idiot...or planning to do something else. When I was a kid my dad taught me how to catch lobster by hand. You hold left hand ( for most peo

I agree that the trade was a something that was 'un-expected'...but you don't trade up all the way from 12 to 3 without an idea of who you WANT. You have to look at the board and ask yourself....is there anybody on that board that is worth giving up a 2nd round pick for? Clearly they felt Jordan was that guy. They could have drafted OT with #3. Lane Johnson was the very next pick....so no-o

The big problem is he used 'text' social media. Nobody can hear/see his tone and attitude. Someone with tact and humour could have delivered the exact same message and had people laughing or smiling. With text...people are left to imagine the tone and voice. They read the ill-advised tweet and can hear hatred, anger, disgust...even if it wasn't there. Some might read jovial joking, or harm

Great point! Not to mention Reshad Jones developing into and effective blitzer. we will have a very fast D.

I disagree. It was the 3rd pick. the draft JUST started. It isn't like Jordan tumbled down the boards and we traded up to grab him....2 OT's were gone and a couple more decent ones were there. as you pointed out...the Raiders took low compensation for the swap...they could have grabbed any one of 3 or 4 guys and the value would have been justified given the favorable trade. It is not a co-

I would have been 'ok' with drafting a tackle...it was a logical conservative thing to do. but early on I knew we needed another pass rusher...and nothing was done in Free Agency. I don't know why we didn't all see it coming. Too much smoke I guess.

Yes, I liked Franklin a lot. When I evaluate college talent...I look at production. NOt just high averages..or big plays...but LOTS of touches with decent avg.s Franklin has lots of carries and is in the top 10 in almost every category. Don't know if he will ever be a star...but the guy can play against anyone and produce. Jordan and Wake is an exciting thought! And...if we wante

true...but with 2 in the 5th? they were trading in and out of rounds all day. That said....it is probably best it Tanney develops chemistry with Wallace instead of lean on his former go to guy. good draft I give it an 'A'

The whole Brandon Albert thing was an expertly orchestrated smoke screen. There were lots of OT's on the board but only a few genuine pass rushers. Pass rusher was a bigger need. If you look at what was available in free Agency and the draft...way more options at Tackle than DE. Chip Kelly was poised to draft his guy...and did not suspect us jumping him to nab Jordan. Nobody did. Brill

I think we are 2 seasons away fro a serious run...so I would rather give 1 years contracts to guys who are trying to establish their worth over guys that are trying to squeeze out a year or two. Maybe next year we sign the older vet looking for one more shot at glory...this year...guys like Winston who might show they can play at a high or higher level are more appealing to me.

I would love to know the dynamics of past drafts. How much of a factor was Sparano? Parcells? Ross? The Parcells issue clouds our ability to judge Ireland...and last year was a good draft...but we know that Ross had a strong hand in the Tannehill pick... This year should provide the best evidence of Ireland's abilities or lack thereof. We have enough picks and only a few big holes and st

I'm not sure his body checking style is going to get him very far against NFL Wr's. I didn't see 1 wrapping tackle ...just a bunch of hockey body checks. His closing speed has allowed him to get away with poor form.

We have invested money at WR...I think that position is set as far as high investments....maybe a 3rd rounder. We have invested at Guard, LB, DT. I see us drafting a pass rusher, a corner,or tackle. If we sign Winston...we draft D with the first over-all. I would not be surprised to see us trade down...aside from 1 or 2 guys who might slip ( Dee Milner ??) the BPA at 12 might not be tha

well that lense totally changed the look...because that twitter pic looks thinner and more linear...but I can see that it is the same composition. I like the look of that logo through that lense It clearly looked different enough that others thouhgt it was a new one as well.

The concussions are a huge worry. The league is paying more attention to how they are monitored, assessed, treated etc. I would say draft Swope...but with his concussions...I would see if he slips to the 5th round. I think somebody else will take him before that...but we have too many holes to fill to risk a high pick on a guy whose career may end before his rookie contract.

Ross has stepped up his involvement because he understands that fans want a winner now. he may not know how to run a press conference, and he is doing a crap job of staying in the background...but Ireland's plan was a little to old school and clinical. Who drafted Tannehill? I think it was Ross and not Ireland. THAT is why he did so much talking. Ireland is learning...and adversity will help

I like Ireland. This rebuild was a big job....and Parcells screwed Ireland by insisting on an outdated blueprint and then leaving town. Until we had our Franchise QB figured out...he was in a difficult spot. As are the Bills and Jets and Chiefs. Now that we have Tannehill, he has started building pieces. Trading down makes sense when you don't have a glaring need and the talent grade

I would love to keep adding WR's....but realistically we will probs draft one in the 2nd round. We will likely go OL/DB with the #1 pick. So with the 2nd round pick we could add a tall speedy WR to develop, or a quick slot to groom as Bess's replacement/insurance. We still need and will likely add TE, Safety, Corner, DE So I think starting WR's are already on the roster.

When was the last time they got this agressive about roster changes? JJ's first year? I like how our roster looks now....we still have the draft! Oh....and how sweet is it to see the Pats decline take another step? I am lovin it. 2013 will be tight...but we are rising out of the ashes and they are getting old, weak, and they walls are cracking!

I think you are right. We drafted Martin with Long going into his final contract year. We drafted Miller with Bush entering his final contract Bess has been good....2013 may very well be his best year ever...but I can see us drafting a Tavone Austin or Terrence Williams to develop and replace Bess.

I like Incognito..he made it to the pro-bowl for a reason. Dirty? great! Penalized? I will accept a few penalties in exchange for a guy who keeps going downfield looking for opponents to hit. Levitrie hasn't dominated..he is durable. He will get paid by virtue of the weak market for starting Guards...but he is 'good'...not great. IMO, Incognito and Jerry are the starters, sign a veteran

If we can get a guy who already has chemistry with the QB...knowledge of the playbook...ability to catch...toughness to run all routes...respectable size...AND Elite speed... what round would you expect to get him in? Swope just jumped up many boards and will be gone before the 3rd round. We will be lucky to get him with our lower 2nd rounder. Bills, Pats, Jets, Steelers, Chiefs all need

I do like the vibe I get from Ireland. he is calmly in control with no need to win a popularity contest with fans. I am confident that he will be able to bring in solid players at any position. My only hesitation with Ireland is.....other than drafting Tannehill...which may or may not have been a Ross choice.....I don't see any 'Playmakers' in his acquisitions. At some point he needs to
