you know in my 22 years on this fine planet, I've never been quite so optimistic about our chances for success, not just in this year, but for years to come!

oh no, you don't get to become a phins fan NOW that things are looking up!

The beatings will continue until morale improves.
When was the last time they got this agressive about roster changes?
JJ's first year?
I like how our roster looks now....we still have the draft!
Oh....and how sweet is it to see the Pats decline take another step? I am lovin it. 2013 will be tight...but we are rising out of the ashes and they are getting old, weak, and they walls are cracking!
I am afraid that to Jeff Ireland, that WAS his draft. The big thing that thrills him is free agency. In the draft he will trade down and trade down and trade down and get a bunch of nobodies that he will never play. So if you're thrill now, that thrill will have to last you.
Ireland and Philbin just said their plan was to fill all positions via FA so they could draft BPA. You don't do that by trading down. Ireland knows he needs playmakers and stars. That's what he will be shooting for IMO.

he didnt trade down last year and we got the real deal.
This rebuild was a big job....and Parcells screwed Ireland by insisting on an outdated blueprint and then leaving town.
Until we had our Franchise QB figured out...he was in a difficult spot. As are the Bills and Jets and Chiefs.
Now that we have Tannehill, he has started building pieces.
Trading down makes sense when you don't have a glaring need and the talent grades out pretty close for about 5-7 guys.
If teams start taking QB's early...we could land someone who slips. If teams start taking QB's at around 8th spot...we could find ourselves trading down a few.
