We are sure making some good moves here that may set us up for the AFC East championship at a minimum. Looking good!

you know in my 22 years on this fine planet, I've never been quite so optimistic about our chances for success, not just in this year, but for years to come!

When was the last time they got this agressive about roster changes?

JJ's first year?

I like how our roster looks now....we still have the draft!

Oh....and how sweet is it to see the Pats decline take another step? I am lovin it. 2013 will be tight...but we are rising out of the ashes and they are getting old, weak, and they walls are cracking!

I am afraid that to Jeff Ireland, that WAS his draft. The big thing that thrills him is free agency. In the draft he will trade down and trade down and trade down and get a bunch of nobodies that he will never play. So if you're thrill now, that thrill will have to last you.

Agree have to come out of the draft with 5 long term quality players, hopefully find a few diamonds in 5 & 7

Ireland and Philbin just said their plan was to fill all positions via FA so they could draft BPA. You don't do that by trading down. Ireland knows he needs playmakers and stars. That's what he will be shooting for IMO.

and the year before he didn't trade down and we got Pro Bowl center, Mike Pouncey.

Hmmmmm....

Parcels: 2008 Jake Long, 2009 Vontae Davis

Compromise: 2010 Jared Odrick

Ireland: 2011 Mike Pouncey, 2011 Ryan Tannehill

OOOhHHHH that's gotta hurt!

I like Ireland.

This rebuild was a big job....and Parcells screwed Ireland by insisting on an outdated blueprint and then leaving town.

Until we had our Franchise QB figured out...he was in a difficult spot. As are the Bills and Jets and Chiefs.

Now that we have Tannehill, he has started building pieces.

Trading down makes sense when you don't have a glaring need and the talent grades out pretty close for about 5-7 guys.

If teams start taking QB's early...we could land someone who slips. If teams start taking QB's at around 8th spot...we could find ourselves trading down a few.

If we fill our holes through FA then I think we should stick with drafting BPA and hope we find a gem or two.
