That article is ridiculous... The players are providing a service... ENTERTAINMENT. They deserve to be paid to what the market is willing to bear for that service. Currently, that means it is a multi-billion dollar industry. The players have every right to a large portion of the money brought in by it as they are ones the industry is built upon. Their "attitude," giving back to commu

Exactly why I can't watch... my other favorite sport is hockey. In hockey if you flop YOU get called for the penalty. That is the way it should be. Plus, you can practically severe a limb from those guys and they will play to the whistle. Soccer has to be the lamest sport in the world... and for anyone that says "it is the most popular game in the world" that means nothing to me. M

MikeO Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > college football is not a "lesser league".. > > it's different not lesser Yes, it IS lesser... the gap in talent level among the teams in college is ridiculous! We obtained starters at positions of need and we able to build depth at the same time. A handful of the players seem to be long-term keepers as roll players if not superstars. That is pretty good in my book. Especially when you look at 2007, and the best pick was our punter. The only other player remaining on the team is an underachieving DT, who will likely never get playing time at a positio

The thing most people fail to realize is the "gurus" are DRAFT analysts, not football player scouts. Their success is measured, not on how well the players turn out compared to their assessments of them, but on how accurately they assess the needs of teams and the order that players end up being picked in the draft. Those are two COMPLETELY different things, and I think if people

Jay Fiedler was MUCH worse, and MUCH more undeserved. Ginn has never shown ANY potential to be better than what he has shown us. For someone so fast, he plays slow. He has no moves to get open, does not attack the ball, runs poor routes, and has poor hands. It doesn't get much worse than that, especially for someone that is making as much money as he is. If he were a 5th round pick originally

Just because McNabb was traded for a 2nd + 3rd/4th after they refused Haynesworth doesn't mean that Haynesworth could be had from the same package of picks. The two trades are completely unrelated and it is circular math that doesn't work out that way when it comes to trades in professional sports. Haynesworth was not offered up for a 2nd+3rd/4th. He was offered up for a Franchise QB that led

Look, reality is this game is a business... business says fans dont like sweltering in the heat to support a medocre product. No fans paying to come to games means less money to pay quality players. Less money = Less wins. If you have a good team it doesn't matter what time of the day they play, they will win.

So, you're saying opposing NFL Defensive coordinators lined up LBs and Safeties against our leading receiver in every major category? They completely missed that he was money on 3rd down, and just let him go uncovered to make those plays? Bess was our best receiver by a wide margin... Camarillo is likely the one that will be out of this league in a few years. He and Hartline are decent receive

You must not have been watching the same games I was. He was EASILY the best WR we had on the team last year, and has the best hands of any WR we've had in Miami since Welk

This is why I think it is ridiculous for teams to go overboard with this "good guy" message... and yes, I think the Dolphins brass take it too far. Look, there is no way in today's NFL, that you are gonna be able to assemble 52 guys on a team, have them all be saints, and field a competitive team. In fact, I seem to remember Joey Porter being involved in off-field incidents prior to

Marshall is EASILY top-5 at his position in the league, and young... the probability of getting anyone at ANY position that is gonna come in and be nearly as good immediately at #12 is practically nil. I would do it in a heartbeat, although I would prefer to keep the first by trying to work a trade and sign for our second and next year's first.

I think Henne's biggest problem was holding onto the ball too long. It doesn't help that his WR's weren't getting open regularly, but he is taking too many sacks. He needs to get a better feel for the internal pass rush clock and then throw it away if the play isn't there. Sacks ruin drives and force QBs to have to make bigger plays than they should. 2nd and 10 is a LOT different than 2nd and

I don't think the problem with Ginn is his acceleration. He seems to be able to instantly hit top gear. His problem is that he does not run his routes at full speed. He appears to run at 80% until he has the ball in his hands and then instantly tuns it up. He got away with that in college, but in the NFL that means you are covered and someone will be there for the tackle. If he ran his routes at

This is a lame argument... you can find just as many receivers getting paid less than Ginn and producing more as you can people getting paid more and producing less. Why not just only pay guys that will play for minimum salary and then be stoked if any of them score a TD?? Because you don't win prizes for "investing wisely" in football. All that matters is making plays and winning ga

The problem with using Pat White is that he isn't half the runner that Ronnie Brown is... it's a power running formation, so if you try to pound it with Pat White, it fails. Ronnie is what makes it work. The reason it failed against the Jets was NOT because of the scheme... you don't think teams before the Jets didn't use the same "clog the box" scheme? The reason it didn't work is b

The problem is and always has been Ginn was drafted largely for his kickoff return skills... and until now hasn't shown them often in games. (Especially on punts.) The front office had been too blinded by his speed, his draft position, and with no other options that they continued to try to force him into becoming a #1 wide receiver when he has never shown ANYthing to make you think he has tho

I could see it going either way... We could see a duplication of the Colts game, where Miami dominates the clock, but it comes down to whoever has the ball last. Or, Miami could blow it let Brees get rolling early and they get blown out trying to compete in a shootout. I want to beleive the Indy game plan will work out this time... but I don't know if it is reality or my heart talking.

I would venture Ginn's value would be about the same, if not lower. Teams are always willing to take a risk on a QB, especially if that person was in a broken organization like Quinn was. But, like others have said... the pick was still a poor one. Many people, myself included, thought (and still think) the pick should have been Okoye.

I think it is more of an anti-wildcat bias myself. This is the first time I can remember ever since I have been watching football where a team has DRASTICALLY changed the game on offense. Every other time teams have tried drastically different formations... it only can work for a play here and there and only when you get the favorable personnell matchups. Defense catch on quickly and teams are

I'll have to look for it... but I saw some stats somewhere of targets vs. catches on the season... and of all the WR's that had a significant number of targets Ginn was BY FAR one of the worst when it came to coming down with the ball. Average was about 60-70% ... Ginn was in the 40's.
