This is a moderated phorum for the CIVILIZED discussion of the Miami Dolphins. In this phorum, there are rules and moderators to make sure you abide by the rules. The moderators for this phorum are JC and Colonel.
Hope Ryan learns some tips from the Tuna.
Mainly these things=
Defensively:
Put REVIS on MOSS always
Bring constant pressure on Brady (the Jets are good at this)
Offensive:
Stay away from Mayo, but other then that it is possible to run on them.
Pats Secondary is vulnerable deep.
Put a sticky substance on Braylon's Mitts, so he can catch for once, either that or make him wear aqua sunglasses so he thinks hes playing the Dolphins.
Someone else (besides us) will beat the Patsy's. If this were the last game of the season and we make the playoffs with a NE loss....maybe I could pull for the Jets. Otherwise, never gonna happen!
I will use my Solomon-like wisdom and propose the perfect outcome:
A mistake laden festival of boneheaded ineptitude that leaves both teams exhausted and TIED after the longest 75 minutes of football that they have every played.
I agree phinsfan I almost think it will be easier to get a wildcard spot before the division but hold on a sec.
I think the Pats will beat the Jets and lose to New Orleans therefore if we take care of Buffalo then we can have a showdown with the Pats and we play the Pats very tough everytime, so if we can win the game against the Pats we would be tied.
Miami 7-5
New England 7-5
therefore controlling our own destiny by way of a better conference record. ( oh man how sick would it be to win the tie breaker for the division yet again. LOL
That would be a good point Phinsfan2, well the playoff picture will become clearer this week for sure. I kind of think the Colts are going to be handed a loss this week though by Baltimore, but we shall see.
Exactly,, Feelgood acts like a jets fan.
Unfortunately we are in a position where we have to hope for a jets win, out of necessity but, we don't need to scream it from the rooftops. Please show some restraint, you know, in a closet like a demented sexual preference.

Phinsfan2, the simplest scenario is us winning the division.
Relying on a wildcard spot, like winning the division, is basically predicated on us winning the rest of our games since the Pats have a 2 game lead on us and even if we beat them, they will have a 1 game lead on us. Therefore, assuming we beat the Patriots, they need one more loss and we not to lose anymore games.
Your scenario of us losing another game (and I know that you premised it on the assumption of the poster to whom you responded) contains too many variables that you oversimplify.
NOT COUNTING the four division leaders Denver (or San Diego) at 6-3, Cincy at 7-2, Indy at 9-0, and NE at 6-3,
the competitors for the 2 wildcard spots are San Diego (or Denver) and Pitt. at 6-3 both with a two game lead over us, Balt, Jax and Hous. at 5-4, with one less loss. The Jets have the same number of losses but we beat them twice. However, given another loss by us, they would win out based on a better record. What's more a sixth loss brings into play Tennessee and Buffalo, although it would be tough for Buff against us. But still we are talking about 8 teams, not counting division leaders that we will be competing with for 2 spots.
We beat the Patriots and the Jets beat them, and we otherwise match the record of the Pats in the remaining games, we win the division which is a lot simpler scenario.
I don't see how realistically we can lose another game and expect to pick up one of the 2 wildcard spots.
You people are letting your hatred of the Jets trump your common sense. Just as I argued for the Patriots to beat the Colts for the 72 Dolphins, I argue as hard for the Jets to beat the Patriots for the 09 Dolphins to get into the playoffs the easiest way possible, by winning the division.
Lets get it straight... the reppa under no circumstance would EVER be a jet fan. And even if I do subliminally root for the jets today I would never admit it.
Hey fin2 great break down... I think that ONLY way we get to 10-6 is play like we did last year. That is protect the football because I think straight up, no turnovers we have the ability to beat anyone.
I am fine with the pats running up the score vs the jets. I think I truly hate the jets more than NE--I wasn't sure which I hated more till this season. plus Brady is my fantasy QB so I'm pulling for some TD passes
as for the playoffs, we should just win out and let the chips fall where they may. unfortunately we are not in the same league as some of the teams that we'd face in the playoffs --esp in our injury depleted state-- so if we do make it I think it would be painful. don't get me wrong of course I want to make the playoffs but we should just take care of our own business and leave it at that.
