Actually, that is no longer the case as only the first 2 rounds are selected on the first day of the draft, so I don't think those 4th rounders are as valuable

The NFL season is BY FAR the shortest in professional sports... which is confusing being as it is the most popular among the mainstream team sports.
Plus, this really isn't making the season longer (for the players) it is taking two meaningless games nobody cares to watch, and making them competitive. Personally I like it, and don't see how anyone who is a fan of football can think otherwise.

Usually yth rounders are throwaways anyways... they rarely make the roster, and if this guy has starting potential and has stuck around this long in the NFL,he is definitely worth a 7th.
It sounds like his major downfall is his injury history... but again a 7th round pick is usually VERY unlikely to contribute, so would you rather risk having that guy on IR, with the possibility of him being a

I think Parcells/Ireland have shown that they are not going to be pigeonholed into drafting any single position. They always try to draft the best player available... and to do that you have to have the bodies to make up your roster without being forced to pick up a guy or two in the draft.
Look at last year... did we NEED Jake Long?? I don't think we did. Carey had performed adequately as a L

Well, its a single report all based on an article by ProFootballTalk.com ... I long ago stopped listening to anything they report on because 90% of it is pure speculation, quite often mirroring outlandish theories presented by random posters on internet forums... so its quite possible that YOU were the "source" for that story on PFT.

I think Satele will stick around and will likely end up starting at Guard for us. People have raved about Donald Thomas like he is some amazing player, but reality is we really didn't see much of him, and the main reason he had a starting spot to begin with was because this team had no depth at the O-line position and he was the best of a weak cast of characters.
So, barring any injuries I see

Im as big a Dolphin fan as anyone... but you have to be wearing Aqua-tinted glasses to be grasping at straws and trying to say Tom Brady is not the QB he once was.
According to what?? An injury that will have little effect on a QB's play??
Because the last season we saw him healthy he put up one of the best performances as a QB in the history of the NFL, shattered the regular season TD pass
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Also, I don't understand why everyone is so down on Satele... he went from being considered one of the best draft picks in a long time and potential pro-bowler in 2007 to a BUM in 2008??
I don't get it... he hasn't played THAT poorly, and you can't blame a guy for not doing well when he loses BOTH starting guards that play on each side of him and there is no depth for replacements, leaving him

I agree... the only big name I would be interested in is the Raiders CB (Im not even going to bother trying to spell it properly)
... or Boldin in a trade.

I would take Vick... AS A WR/RB. He was never that great of a QB... and I don't think he ever can be.
With his history, nobody is going to take a chance on him with a high-dollar long term contract, so getting him at a bargain price, it would be worthwhile to experiment with him ad see if he is better suited to a skill position, as many (like me) think he is.

Its about money... if you read the articles, the contract for the Pro Bowl expires after this year, and negotiations aren't going well. So, they had to do something... if they had it in a city like Miami AFTER the Super Bowl, its almost a guarantee none of the top players would show up.
Having it prior to the Super Bowl allows them to attract many players who want to be there that week and par

I said it after the NFC Championship game and I'll say it again after the Super Bowl, but Arizona's offensive staff needs to be fired. There was absolutely NO excuse for not attempting to get the ball to Larry Fitzgerald more in the first half of the Super Bowl. After all week of hearing about how he is ALWAYS open, even when he is covered (and its true), and then they go into the game with a run

I think the answer would be no... even if it was for league minimum.
He undermined the leadership last off season, and one of the big key for this coaching staff is having everyone on the same page and playing as a TEAM. JT doesn't have that mindset anymore... and there are still guys on this roster that could see him as a "leader," and I don't think the coaching staff would want him

If I had to go back in time... I would make the same pick I said they should have made the day of the draft... and it isn't either of them.
My pick:
Amobi Okoye
When he was still there on the draft board, I was amazed they let him get by them.

There is still the looming possibility that Parcells may leave... and if he does does he raid our coaching staff?? Does Bowles or another one of our coaches end up somewhere else regardless??
Besides those issues, we are likely going to b

The reason Satele struggle was because he was playing with two VERY unheralded backups next to him. One of which was an undrafted free agent. He was playing fin until Thomas and Smiley went down.

Philly is also looking as good as anyone in the NFC with a healthy Westbrook... so imagine if we end up with 8-8 San Diego vs. 9-6-1 Philly in the Super Bowl.

Pennington did play a lot worse than I expected... but its hard to put the entire blame on him when.
A) The running game wasn't working
He was getting pressured the entire game
and C) WR's were not getting open.
At some point you HAVE to take some risks in an attempt to make some plays. The Ravens smacked us in the mouth and we couldn't do anything about it.
Do I wish he was smarter w
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
The problem is we were playing with two backups at guard... it is amazing we had as much success as we did with the injuries we had there. It was by design that we didn't go up the middle often because we did not have a lot of push, unfortunately the Ravens were able to overcome those designs and we didn't have the skill to revert to a power-rushing game.
Next year we will have our starters he

That's really worked well for Dallas and the Raiders hasn't it??
Wayne has been a great owner and all of the failures at coach are with hindsight in mind. He went out and paid top dollar to get the best guys available...
