This is a moderated phorum for the CIVILIZED discussion of the Miami Dolphins. In this phorum, there are rules and moderators to make sure you abide by the rules. The moderators for this phorum are JC and Colonel.
Well guys, it's like I said, close, but no cigar. We were outplayed again. We just have too little talent overall on the offensive side and well...it's time for me to go to bed. There's not much more to say.
One final remark--Nolan Carroll--you played like a chump.
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Wow. Halftime. Thigpen's run was great. Thank you.
Nolan Carroll--OMG
Where's the push on the O-line?
What's happened to Jake Long? It's trade time.
Being dominated again...it's hard to take.
Tannehill is just there...nobody is open.
Fasano-- ?
We are not showing any offense.
Spiller is a great RB. I wish we had him.
I'm not sure there is enough playmakers on th

62-7 Oh yes, that was UGLY.
The jury is still out on Tannehill. The jury came back on Henne and he's is a backup QB. We missed on that pick. Hopefully, we have scored with Tannehill. I still remain optimistic about him and his skills and do believe that he continues to grow despite throwing 3 interceptions and being the QB at the helm during that debacle.

Holy Mackerel Chyren...the only things I can agree with you on is that I am not a tax lawyer either. I totally disagree about Ross not caring about how he spends his money. I think he does care about the franchise, the crappy attendance at the home games, the obvious piss-poor attitude we have about the team, and wants nothing but a thriving franchise.
I also don't see Philbin as egotisti

Thursday is coming up fast. Will the Dolphins make a game of it? Are they still moping, crying in their beers, or are they ready to join the fray and kick some Bison? Did the team learn anything from Sunday's debacle. Who is playing? Who is sitting? Who's not playing because of injuries? Let's hope the Dolphins get back on track and win.
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Guys, I still have to think that it just wasn't the ball being taken away from Bush, but other things he did in practices or in prior games that caused Philbin to pull him. It's not logical to think that it was just for that play.
As for Incognito--no one is really arguing over his brief benching. A 2x4 would probably have been just as effective on him. One swift smack to the back of the helm

When things aren't going your way, "fire and fall back." No shame in examining why things aren't going the right way (winning.)
Week after week, I make predictions on who will beat whom, and this year I find my picks to be off the mark. One week a team looks terrific the next they are totally inept.
The Dolphin team has talent. Tannehill is growing even when things go badly for

Chyren-you surmise that it was only the lost ball that caused Philbin to temporarily take him out of the game. I suggest it was more than the ball being taken away from him. From our fan position it looks like he was taken out because of that lost ball...it may have been for other things, cumulative things...other missteps he made during recent games, practices and the like. We will never know.

Some call it match ups, others mismatches, the bottom line is weaknesses.
A LB that defenses the run but can't cover a slant is a weakness. A CB that tires quickly is a weakness. A substitute player who is not as agile, not as mentally aware, is a weakness.
To win, coaches need to field the best team to exploit their opponent's weaknesses. It needs to have a game plan that is consistent w

Richie Incognito also stood on the sidelines for a long time following a personal foul.
Coach Philbin may just be trying to be a disciplinarian by trying to instill a dire need for execution and consistency. Incognito is a bully and needs to be reminded that he's not in charge. As for Bush, he is a playmaker but is not prized to the extent that he can't be sidelined for failing to execute. D

There is method to this madness. Philbin that is.
We only see that Bush was kept out of the game, and don't know the reasons for it. We can only surmise...guess on why that was done.
=====
My fan appreciation for Reggie Bush is slipping away. When he was with the Saints he was used sparingly. I'm beginning to see why. Bush is not a hard-nosed running back. He doesn't like to get hit (smar

In a word, "maturity." Perhaps Chyren you are right about Tannehill being "shell shocked." I can make a strong argument that you are correct. Read...
Tannehill knows the offense but is still inexperienced in that his time under center has been little compared to other rookies who played for years at the QB position in college. Intelligence is one thing but reacting to mi

Time to fallback and regroup. Thursday night's game makes for a short week to get this lousy performance out of one's memory.
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Yeah, I'm still watching. Can't help it. At least we got a FG. Now we need to make a couple of defensive plays for a score and get back into the game.
Get Clay into the game.
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
It's windy, yet it sure looks like the Titans have taken all the wind from the Dolphins' sails. They are really sluggish.
Where are the fans? A weak crowd at the stadium.
C'mon guys pick it up--this isn't practice.
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
I wanted the team to move gradually down the field, not to gamble on mid throws that gave the impression of being overly excited, impatient that they game would be lost unless they had a a couple of 20 yd completions. I had hoped for a more methodical approach to use the clock to their advantage. I'd like to study the film (don't have it on tape) to see exactly what the team and Colt defense wa

Chyren--Ah Hah! You pegged it, "The Kid" wasn't 100%. He didn't practice because he hadn't reached a comfortable level where he said he could play. I'm sure, although I speculate, that the coaching and trainers were monitoring his pain and mobility all week. At some point, RT gave somebody that nod that he could play. At that point, again I speculate, that it was up to Philbin to play

Have you seen some of the wacky scores of late? Teams on prime time have been lopsided wins for one and of course, garbage efforts by the loser. At least the Colt game was interesting to watch and was close right up to the end. Tonight on MNF, will it be close, a thrilling game to watch, or a "oh hum" blowout that I will doze off during and shut off to go to bed?
I enjoy a strong

...heading back to the drawing board, then the practice field.
They also need to get the cob webs out of their heads, face the fact they played poorly as a unit, and correct the missteps from Sunday's game.
Jimmy Wilson, missed coverage and needs to sit out a game IMO.
The team didn't run the ball enough to the left side...we could have taken advantage of Freeny's rush and efforts aga

Ihatebrady--there's a distinct difference between losing purposely (throwing games) and being fully committed to succeed. When a team's confidence level goes in the crapper it's impossible for the team to succeed. This is more likely what happened to them last year. The bottom line may be the same, they won the big prize. We came up with the consolation prize and at this point--Tannehill is e

Chyren--One player doesn't usually cause an entire team to become immeasurably better--even and elite QB. Last year was just a "false positive."
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Rick- We had opportunities and missed the mark. The long ball caught in the end zone for a TD should have been at least deflected, and better, of course, if intercepted. Smith misplayed the ball. He had the angle and turned the wrong way. His talent is thwarted by his brain. I don't believe his football IQ and awareness is very high. I agree with you--Smith is a liability. His good play, all too

Jake Long is no longer an elite LT. He's better than average by far but has fallen from that A+ elite category. He's an A player, and was beaten by an A player today in Dwight Freeny.
Coaches did not give Luck, IMO, lots of defensive looks today.
Tannehill was okay today, but limited with his mobility. He actions were not as fluid.
Luck had a career day--one of many for him. He now o

I'm not sure I agree with you Chryen about the suck for luck BS, but you make a feasible argument that they were better as a team then their W-L record from last year.
Luck was the #1 pick and is an elite QB. You don't do all the good things he did today by chance. He's extremely talented.
I think we have seen a game similar to the one played years ago between Elway's Broncos and Marino's

This was a team loss today, although several opportunities for a defensive moment existed--nothing.
Our defense tired chasing around a very mobile QB. There was enough defense on the part of the Colts to thwart efforts to get to Luck when he did hang in the pocket. By halftime the D-line looked very tired. The secondary didn't play close enough and tackled poorly.
Tannehill, I believe w
