Give the guy a chance. It was a crappy effort all the way around.

Time to fallback and regroup. Thursday night's game makes for a short week to get this lousy performance out of one's memory.

Yeah, I'm still watching. Can't help it. At least we got a FG. Now we need to make a couple of defensive plays for a score and get back into the game. Get Clay into the game.

It's windy, yet it sure looks like the Titans have taken all the wind from the Dolphins' sails. They are really sluggish. Where are the fans? A weak crowd at the stadium. C'mon guys pick it up--this isn't practice.

I wanted the team to move gradually down the field, not to gamble on mid throws that gave the impression of being overly excited, impatient that they game would be lost unless they had a a couple of 20 yd completions. I had hoped for a more methodical approach to use the clock to their advantage. I'd like to study the film (don't have it on tape) to see exactly what the team and Colt defense wa

Chyren--Ah Hah! You pegged it, "The Kid" wasn't 100%. He didn't practice because he hadn't reached a comfortable level where he said he could play. I'm sure, although I speculate, that the coaching and trainers were monitoring his pain and mobility all week. At some point, RT gave somebody that nod that he could play. At that point, again I speculate, that it was up to Philbin to play

Have you seen some of the wacky scores of late? Teams on prime time have been lopsided wins for one and of course, garbage efforts by the loser. At least the Colt game was interesting to watch and was close right up to the end. Tonight on MNF, will it be close, a thrilling game to watch, or a "oh hum" blowout that I will doze off during and shut off to go to bed? I enjoy a strong

...heading back to the drawing board, then the practice field. They also need to get the cob webs out of their heads, face the fact they played poorly as a unit, and correct the missteps from Sunday's game. Jimmy Wilson, missed coverage and needs to sit out a game IMO. The team didn't run the ball enough to the left side...we could have taken advantage of Freeny's rush and efforts aga

Ihatebrady--there's a distinct difference between losing purposely (throwing games) and being fully committed to succeed. When a team's confidence level goes in the crapper it's impossible for the team to succeed. This is more likely what happened to them last year. The bottom line may be the same, they won the big prize. We came up with the consolation prize and at this point--Tannehill is e

Chyren--One player doesn't usually cause an entire team to become immeasurably better--even and elite QB. Last year was just a "false positive."

Rick- We had opportunities and missed the mark. The long ball caught in the end zone for a TD should have been at least deflected, and better, of course, if intercepted. Smith misplayed the ball. He had the angle and turned the wrong way. His talent is thwarted by his brain. I don't believe his football IQ and awareness is very high. I agree with you--Smith is a liability. His good play, all too

Jake Long is no longer an elite LT. He's better than average by far but has fallen from that A+ elite category. He's an A player, and was beaten by an A player today in Dwight Freeny. Coaches did not give Luck, IMO, lots of defensive looks today. Tannehill was okay today, but limited with his mobility. He actions were not as fluid. Luck had a career day--one of many for him. He now o

I'm not sure I agree with you Chryen about the suck for luck BS, but you make a feasible argument that they were better as a team then their W-L record from last year. Luck was the #1 pick and is an elite QB. You don't do all the good things he did today by chance. He's extremely talented. I think we have seen a game similar to the one played years ago between Elway's Broncos and Marino's

This was a team loss today, although several opportunities for a defensive moment existed--nothing. Our defense tired chasing around a very mobile QB. There was enough defense on the part of the Colts to thwart efforts to get to Luck when he did hang in the pocket. By halftime the D-line looked very tired. The secondary didn't play close enough and tackled poorly. Tannehill, I believe w

Lessons learned. In the military we spend lots of time examining into the foibles and successes of the past. This is done to learn the pitfalls as well as the smart and practical things to do. Learning occurs constantly. Same applies, I believe on the field of play. Situations are similar but not exactly the same. What a more experienced player brings to the table is time and situational e

The special teams effort was special. That got my vote. Those blocks made all the difference physically and mentally for us and them.

Why do you guys bicker about who the starting quarterback is on the team? Tannehill was our top draft pick, has shown to have a solid understanding of the offense, and is doing quite well for a rookie. Moore did a good job coming in to fill the role as starter today. He made no mistakes and the team, as a whole performed solidly. In contrast, the Jets were outclassed in every department today.

The Jets are out of synch! They played so inconsistently, so poorly the defense and special teams really looked terrific. This was a wonderful Dolphins's team victory. All of the Dolphins players should be thrilled with this one. It appeared we inserted backups on defense in the 4th quarter, and they held it together. The game was over when it reached 20-3. I was surprised that "The Ki

I really haven't focused on his play...it's been sparse. What I guess is happening to him is that his running style leaves him prone to getting his "bell rung." I haven't recorded any games this season to review over and over, so this is pure speculation on my part. At some point, a decision will be made to keep, trade or cut him. ----- If there was any running back likely

"The Kid" is progressing nicely. Each week there's a little bit more to expect from him and he's meeting that challenge. No intercepts is very good. The biggest problem is that the offense is still mediocre at best. Hartline and Bess are valuable WRs but neither pose a deep threat that would open the field a little more resulting in different coverages and more offense. Our runn

The pizza was good and so were the German beers--Oktoberfest! Oh, yeah, another thriller to the end....and we won! Hartline was pretty much covered today--nothing from him this week. We should all celebrate Moore's TD. Let's all hope that is one of a long string of catches and TDs for him. The Ram's D were faked out on that long ball to Moore. Good read by Tannehill. No intercepts toda

The Jet offense is misfiring everywhere. Whether it's because of Sparano--not sure of that--but one can make an argument that he might be part of the problem. If guys execute perfectly on plays that are equally matched by the defense, is the problem--bad play calling? However, if the guys bungle a well called play--it must be the players, right? I'm not sure which it is? Both maybe????

Guys, I believe their main object is one thing--to improve. That is, to get better, smarter and more confident. If they keep improving in all facets of the game, winning will be the result. Along with it is consistent play--execution. Currently, our big guys on defense, up front, are doing a very good job stopping opposing running backs. This is good because it also throws off play action

My concern about Daniel Thomas is that he seems to run strongly once, twice, maybe three times and then....well then...it immediately goes away. His durability and toughness are severely in question. We saw Bush "cha-cha" last weekend, trying to find a hole, not committing to try and blow past a defender. This may be due to his memory and not wanting to re-injure or worsen a heali

We need to play errorless ball. We need to protect "The Kid" from Chris Long and Company. If we can keep down the sacks, run the ball effectively and do some play action...we will out score the Rams. Everybody on board with that tactic?
