It's becoming a poker game, isn't it. Bluster and all. For Manning, it's more than just money. It's where he can be comfortable and secure. That, IMHO, will make the difference. Secure is not on the playing field during a game, but secure in his environment. He's looking for a the best fit for his personal comfort zone. The big city lights of Miami and the Ross celebrity fanfare train--makes him

I'll bet that Philbin has talked with Ireland about Flynn. If Flynn is something "special" Philbin would have a good notion about it. Philbin, I sense, is quite reserved and would not leak things to anyone about it. Assuming for a moment that Flynn really is the guy, the lack of interest in Flynn has indirectly lowered the stock of Flynn with other teams. My guess is that Philbin real

Yes it does seem a bit odd, going to him. However...Miami is "big city lights" more than Indy, more than Phoenix, and really bigger than Denver. The helicopters in the sky, all the media coverage are quite distracting. Manning lured us to him, to take a deep breath from all of the mass media and fan attention. I wouldn't be overly preoccupied with how Philbin and Manning met. If a

Marshall needs a good shrink as an expert witness for the defense. In my own experience, I've had one or two "diva" type officers that proved to be good in somethings, great they thought, and were more trouble in the long run to organizational unity than their personal achievements. When the opportunity presented itself to move them to another assignment, that's what I did. I can

I hope this is a well-thought-out chess move, not a checker move. We'll all stay tuned in for the next "happening" and see how this drama unfolds. I just hope it has a happy ending.

Kind of surprised by this move. Not sure where it's all leading. Lots of speculation on ESPN about it and they seemed just as perplexed as I was. I agree with ChryenB about Marshall being a head case. I'll add he was just too disruptive. He'll be back with his former QB and that's cool for him and the Bears are now a better team on paper. He'll still drop too many passes--even with them.

I didn't vote. None of the choices seem to fit as they are too speculative. The Rams have ensured they will get RG3. I wish him well. The Broncs have a great franchise, a great HOF QB as their President, a packed stadium at each and every game, a very likable guy at QB (Tebow) but his style of play doesn't fit, IMO, Elway's style of pro QB. Also they have plenty of CAP room to make a grea

Hire Manning now. "Strike when the iron is hot" Mr. Ross. We can't let this opportunity get away.

We need to get Manning. Nuff said.

I watched the half time show and didn't catch the gesture--saw it on the news this morning. My first thought was "what is wrong with these people." Then I thought about what I thought--"these people." "These people" are the few entertainers that disrespect others and themselves. They do things like this--acting badly--because they loathe what they are not--a big d

Marshall isn't the sharpest knife in the draw. He says what comes to mind whatever the situation. Don't expect anything less and you'll be fine. He's Brandon being Brandon. (Like Manny being Manny). The Pro Bowl is nothing more than a all-star exhibition game that acknowledges top players around the league. It's far from being a serious game. Being named the game's MVP isn't a big dea

The Defense at the Pro Bowl played "patty-cake" with the offense. That's why Marshall had a terrific day. Lower the rim on a basketball court to 9' and I can dunk like a madman (even at my age).

Rooting for neither team in the SB (Dolphins aren't in it). However, while there's lots of talk about Eli being a better QB than his brother, and the Giants did play tough this past Sunday, I still give the edge to the Patriots. They have more weapons and better weapons on offense. I'm very impressed with the two TEs and then there's Welker. I sure would like to see two top notch receiving

I can't imagine Peyton Manning playing on another team. He's a Colt. If he's playable he'll stay. If not, he'll retire and we'll see him on ESPN CBS, or Fox. BTW-Peyton is a better QB than Eli.

This is what I'd like to see added to the team. How about sweeping the Jets, Patriots, and Buffalo and winning our division. That would be a great addition to our team's resurgence as a good team again.

Mr. Ross is quite uncomfortable in front of TV cameras.... In contrast, I'm glad to see that Coach Philbin has good eye contact and can speak on his feet. I'm hoping his relationship with the media and fans blossoms into something special. We need that!

Joe Flacco isn't a bad QB. There's a mindset that defense will win the games so Flacco is relegated to a special teams type player like a punter or kicker. He's there but is not the focus. Offense is not the focus of the Ravens. If the great Ravens defense is at the top of their game and Flacco plays a good game they will be in the SB. If the Ravens are just so-so defensively, and Flacco

I'm going with Harbaugh. The guy has the 49ers hitting their stride. Probably a close game though.

Okay, a new HC. The cards have been shuffled and the cards dealt, now let's see those aces. Congratulations Joe Philbin, this is a wonderful leadership opportunity. Make it happen.

I have no personal knowledge of Ross, or Ireland for that matter. Other than what I've read and heard from them on TV, my opinion is pretty speculative. So, here it is. Ross is a billionaire who is a couch football fan. He's not unlike many of us in that respect. What sets him apart from all of us (other posting billionaires please stand up) is his ownership of the Dolphins and other signif

2152. Daboll
A year ago yesterday (17th of Jan) Brian Daboll was hired as the OC for the Dolphins after being dismissed from the Browns. So, he's been our OC for a full year. How do you rate his overall performance? Vote and voice your opinion. The poll below will run for 7 days.

I'm sorry to see Nolan leave but understand why he would move on. Too many uncertainties and timing to move was now. Recruiting for the HC is still puzzling to me. Are we begging for interviews or are the prospective interviewees seeking an interview with the Dolphins? I sure would like to know the answer to that question. Philbin could be a good choice, but he's got to be in mourning o

Let's get somebody who is a real Dolphin, somebody who will work his heart out, a guy that will put more time it and push the team hard than anybody out there. The guy I'm thinking of has NO coaching experience. It would be something very new for him...totally untested. Wacky as this rant is...I'm thinking #54...Zach Thomas.

There probably is a "plan B" for just this turn down situation by Fisher. I'm not basing this on any information, just logic. The Dolphins must have a strong second offer on the table with one of the coaches they previously interviewed. Could it be Mike Zimmer with the Bengals?

I'm as impatient as all of you, yet I kind of understand if the real issue for him is whether he really wants to coach again. Jumping into it again after spending so many years with one team maybe a tougher decision than we or he imagined. Maybe the guy will turn down all offers and grab a pole and go fishing. Reminds me of, "just one more tour." Maybe he's really had enough.

Tebow is a leader, a motivator, a great athlete, and damn hard to stop. Accurate throw and superb catch and YAC....what else can you say.

So much for my 10 point prediction that the Steeler would win. Hats off to the Broncos for pulling off an OT victory. Amazing!
