Let me think about that for a moment.

Better yet...

I hope moore has the case of the flu next year the entire year so we can put an even worst crappy journeyman QB and stink even more.

Moore stunk enough to win 6 games in his first year here.

If you are counting on him to get you the top pick, you are likely to be disappointed once again.

I'd take Wheedon. He's really good, even if he is 28.

I'd trade down to get him and I'd add picks next year so Barkley becomes an option.

Other than that...I think I'm pricing Eli jerseys on NFL.com

I voted Wheedon, everyones freaked out about his age, but his body hasn't been taking a beating all this time either, MMA guys fight into their mid 40s, no reason if this guy is as good as advertised that we can't get 10/12 good years out of him.

I've heard a lot of so called experts say he'd be the 3rd QB taken if he was younger, that says something about his talent.

TT i thought about that before you posted look at my next post....After i posted the first post i realized we might not stink completely with moore. We might be good enough to win 4 or 5 thats it but that isnt nealy enough to get the first pick overall. So i agree yes.

Probably will be the lone Tebow fan, but that is ok, that guy is a winner and I would want him on my team, period. I think he could beat out Matt Moore to be our starter (obvious worst case scenario).....

But, I have never been a fan of trading down to look at next year unless we get an offer for the number 8th pick we can't refuse. I say draft the best guy available to fill whatever holes we need to fill. If it's a O line guy, get him, if it's a DE or LB, draft him. I think we could have won more games this year with some better pieces on the oline and in the secondary...that said, I still am not convinced that Matt Moore can't be our guy. I just think we need to put the best team we can on the field. Obviously we want a franchise QB, who doesn't? But they don't grow on trees and I don't like wasting first round picks on a QB that isn't the 1 or 2 QB in the draft...just my opinion....

RE: I disagree. If we have the chance to draft a guy that has as much upside as Tannehill has, IMHO. We have to take him...even if we just signed a Manning or a Flynn. Even if we won't play him for a season or two. I'd wait ubtil the second round to take an O-line player...if Tannehill is still there at #8. Trading down to get him isn't wise either because I don't think he'll be there outside of the top ten.

I don't think we'd have to trade down to get Weeden. I think we can have our number 8 and get him with our first pick in the second round.

RE: Ken

You may be right on all accounts Ken. I’m just saying we have some serious inside info on Tannehill and I just get the feeling he’s not going to grade out high enough to warrant that kind of pick.

In addition, if we pass on him, it has to impact the general perception of the kid, if only a small degree. So maybe he tumbles down the board and we can make a play later in R1 or R2. Granted that is probably not going to happen, but I bet that’s the type of scenario we’re looking at in our draft crystal ball.

As far as Wheedon, he just fits the prime possibility profile for a dude falling into R2. The age thing is a real concern and you can bet a number of teams have him significantly discounted for that. Maybe into R3 (speculation on my part for sure).

Last, if we add Manning it definitely changes the dynamics of our draft in a rather dramatic fashion. With that in mind I think we look for the biggest impact player R1 – specifically a dude who can disrupt the opposing QB (that Lady in NE comes to mind) because we’ll be in serious competition for the AFC East this year. And the way you beat NE is to mess with the Lady. End of story.

The depth at OL means we can solve that in R2 and R3. And as much as I want a development QB on the roster – with Manning and Moore the position is in pretty decent shape so I’m not opposed to pushing that need down the line…

I’m sure this is part of what we’ll be talking to Manning about – how we would use our draft resources if he’s on board.

The priorities would be: protect Manning and knock the opposing QB on his ass. Football is pretty simple, really…

BNF.

Manning is OUT! It would be wise if we fans just moved on to spare the inevetable pain when he signs with Denver. Now we gotta hope we at least get Flynn who will now cost a crap load more to outbid the browns or we are screwed. Tamnehill at 8 is horrible and I got news for u, we'd need to trade UP to get him bc Seattle will try to move ahead of us to get him. You guys ready for that??

Let's just suck for Barkley. The Manning and Flynn chase is over. They don't want to play here.

How is Flynn doing? I read on twitter that his dog was sick and that bratwurst gave him heartburn and made him constipated.

Give him my best the next time you speak with him...thumbs up

Too each his own...I don't think Flynn is all that hot. A little slutty perhaps...but not all that attractive if you ask me.

flynn will go to whoever will pay him most. cleveland can pay him more than us---so it's not looking good.
I'd be fine with Weedon I guess, but we'd need to take him in the 1st and can't trade down too far or we'd lose out. this really sucks. if we couldn't get luck or rg3 I wanted a FA QB and use our draft picks on our many other needs. now it's looking like we're gonna have to spend our 1st on the 3d or 4th best QBs in a 2 QB draft.

Why is there an assumption that Flynn is plan B? Philbin knows Flynn as well as anyone, and that may not be a good thing for Flynn. Philbin may realize those 2 starts are meaningless, and maybe he thinks Flynn is a nice backup, but certainly not a guy who wants to bank his coaching career on. The history of guys who started 1 year in college and were drafted late is not on Flynn's side.

As for Tannehill, Sherman knows Tannehill better than Philbin knows Flynn. At least Sherman has coached him as a full time starter and knows how he handles week to week adjustments, something Philbin would be guessing on with Flynn. Remember, backups only get about 15% of the practice snaps in the NFL, so Philbin didn't even get to see a lot of him in practice.

Gil Brandt, who is the ultimate draft guru, has Tannehill ranked as the 7th best prospect in the draft. If Brandt has him that high, his grade is not anything to be worried about. He's a legit top 10 pick.

5 years, $50M for Flynn or 4 years, $13M for Tannehill? Which is the bigger risk? Which has more upside? Remember, Flynn, despite winning a national championship, was a 7th round pick, so clearly, teams didn't feel he had that much talent. Is he fool's gold? That is my fear. That he is the next AJ Feeley, Kevin Kolb, or Rob Johnson. Guys who looked good in very limited sample sizes with good systems around them, but were exposed when asked to carry a team.

When Dan Marino was asked about Flynn, he asked why isn't he starting? The interviewer said, "well, he's behind Aaron Rodgers." To which, Marino replied, why is he behind Aaron Rodgers? Why hasn't some other team traded for him? Why was he a 7th round pick? Dan is clearly not sold on him, and that's good enough for me.

I'm not quite sure this has as much to do with Philbin as it does Ross.

Ross wants a big name QB and is willing to do anything to get one. Listen, I think if it was up to Ireland and Philbin, then Flynn might would be choice A. But, to Ross, clearly Flynn was choice C.

Schefter is reporting that Manning is leaning towards Denver because of his relationship with Elway and Fox. He says Miami is 3rd after AZ.

Omar is speculating that Flynn could get upwards of a 65 mil contract..........uh, no thanks.

Looks like it could very well be Tannehill or Wheedon. I'm ok with that, although not ecstatic. The only way I burn my Dolphins silk boxers, is if we do something absurd and trade for Tebow.

I didn't vote. None of the choices seem to fit as they are too speculative.

The Rams have ensured they will get RG3. I wish him well.

The Broncs have a great franchise, a great HOF QB as their President, a packed stadium at each and every game, a very likable guy at QB (Tebow) but his style of play doesn't fit, IMO, Elway's style of pro QB. Also they have plenty of CAP room to make a great offer to Manning. Getting Manning would quiet the noise about Tebow, who I don't believe Elway really wants playing QB. I will be shocked to learn that Manning is not hired by the Broncos.

When this event happens, the Dolphins must get a QB. They will draft a QB again. Who? I don't know. Can't really make an educated guess as there are many variables right now.
