Well, it looks as if Goodell is in favor of extending the regular season to 17 or 18 games as early as 2011. Of course a lot of things need to happen before that becomes a reality, like a new CBA for one, but it got me thinking. I know Jimmy Johnson was a big proponent of eliminating players from being "inactive" during a game. He believed that if you were on the team, you should be

Yep, we got their 6th rounder and by swapping 4th round picks we get a selection 18 spots earlier.

Yea, its a bit early to be talking 2010 when this years team isn't even finalized yet, but looks like we have an extensive list (12) of free agents poised to hit the market in 2010. It's headlined by Chad Pennington, Will Allen, Anthony Fasano, David Martin, Matt Roth, Jason Ferguson, and Davone Bess. Out of these I see Bess and Fasano as locks to get a long term extension, hopefully early thi

I figure we will draft at least 2 CBs in April and probably bring in a couple more undrafted RFAs (as training camp fodder), but I can't believe that we will not bring in any UFAs to compete and help mentor the newbies. If someone such as Surtain or McAlister were willing to come in for a low base/incentive laden deal for a year or two to prove they are still good players, why wouldn't we look

He will be missed. I always thought of his as a dependable player and a classy guy. I wonder if we will go after Igor Olshansky now.

I think we still have a lot of work to do. I have to tell you, the Jets are going to have a totally stacked defense. I bet before the weekend is out they sign Ivy and Leonhard. Match that with their signing of Scott and the trade for Sheppard and I think they will be giving us fits next year.

Victor, you think Satele is going to start at Guard over Smiley? Then looks like our free agent signing of him was a bust, huh? Maybe over Thomas but the only way I think he replaces Smiley is if he gets hurt again.

There is something about this guy that bothers me. I think this will end up being the largest disappointment in free agency. Maybe not this year or possibly even 2010, but I do not think that this guys will play anywhere near a $100M price tag. You have to give it to him and his agent though, regardless of how he plays he an his family are now set for life.

I am still holding out hope that they resign Bell and move him over to FS, but I think that is just my heart talking. My head tells me he is movng on. I think we resign Hill to a cap friendly, short term contract and draft a FS to take over for him. The coaches did credit Hill for his communication in the secondary.

I am very surprised at his signing. I think the fact that they are signing someone so young only to a three year deal is very telling that they don't see him as the long term solution. I think there may be some serious concern over his play making ability and knees. The fact that they didn't over spend allows them to have a known solid (yet unspectacular) player on-hand in case they don't get

Does anyone know what 40 time he ran? I don't exactly know why am asking as I really don't get caught up in all the combine performances, but there is something about this kid I like. I have a feeling he is going to be a later round pick of ours (maybe 3rd)

For the purposes of this challenge are you only going to count receiving TDs? Remember he had 2 rushing TDs this year too!

I think we should look o extend Fasano and Martin. I personally thought he was a reach when Cam brought him in, but he showed a lot last year. I think we should look to keep Fasano and Martin together for the next couple of years. I also think Haynos can be dangerous in the Red Zone with his 6'7" size. I noticed a couple of times they had him split wide last year to take advantage of h

Jerry Porter.. I see he was cut yesterday. I didn't follow him last year but he was obviously a disappointment to get cut after one year of such a big contract, but the guy has talent. If we were to get him at a bargain price, would you welcome him on the phins to see if he could resurrect his career here?

I'm heading down to the Phins vs. SF game next week. Does anyone know if there are are any organized tail gate parties that I could buy tickets to? If not, how long before the game do the bars in the stadium open?

Seems like the problem that these recievers all had back in training camp with dropping all the passes has come bac on Ginn in a big way.

Is it just me, or other than the one TD drive do these guys look totally flat and uninspired on both sides of the ball. Hopefully Sparano puts a foot up their butt at half time and gets them back into it.
