It might be a stupid move, but I'd fall for it...hook, line, and sinker.

Every DC is, at one point, a first-time DC.

Or maybe they just see something impressive in Bowles? He did do a pretty good job filling in for Sparano. I actually like the fact that we're not willing to part with the good aspects of our organization.

People are not saying they don't want Luck or RG3. They are simply saying that we're not one player away from a superbowl, and if we can get Flynn without cashing in our entire draft, it might be better than selling the farm for Luck or RG3.

Every QB is a risk. If Philbin believes that Flynn can be that franchise guy, then its no more risky than either RG3 or Luck. There is no guarantee that Luck will be the next Joe Montana.

If Flynn really does come here, then clearly Philbin believes he can be a franchise QB. He knows Flynn better than anyone.

Probably the best remaining choice. Now I wouldn't be surprised if we do bring in Flynn. I can certainly understand him wanting to remain with his OC to remain in a similar system.

I would only be interested in Flynn if Philbin is hired as HC. It would be much easier to keep him in the same system, even if it means getting rid of Daboll, who did a great job this year.

I get the impression that McCoy simply did not want to be the coach of the Raiders, regardless of whether or not he gets the Miami job.

This seems like a bogus report. Bitchin' Dave doesn't exactly scream credibility.

I never thought I would be saying this, but Ireland made one heck of a hire with Daboll. The guy turned Bush into a viable every-down back. He made Henne and Moore look damn good. And he actually used Fasano in the red zone. He gets an A in my book, considering the lack of talent he had to work with.

I'm glad. Fisher is too conservative for me. He's never been a great coach, and he certainly won't be a genius in South Florida. We're so low that we need to take a long shot on an aggressive assistant.

Time to hire a good assistant. Stay clear of the remaining former head coaches.

Ireland will still be the GM, and do the work of a GM. I'm sure Fisher simply wants final say in order to avoid another Vince Young situation. He doesn't want another player shoved down his throat.

How dare we interview more than one person. Ugh, the nerve!

I'm very tired of having a conservative coach, so I'm hoping Fisher takes the Rams job.

I believe as OC he would still implement the gameplan each week, even if McCarthy designed the structure of the offense and calls the plays. I'm sure he doesn't sit there and make copies all day.

Fisher is interviewing the Dolphins. Not the other way around.

I honestly do not understand why everyone is making such a big deal out of this. Ross clearly is not a "football guy" and he's simply asking the advice of someone he (perhaps foolishly) trusts. This is clearly better than his ill-conceived efforts to lure Harbaugh last year, and a step in the right direction. It seems very clear that Ireland is leading the real coaching search, in

Most great coaches had a great QB, so take it with a grain of salt, but its still very important to develop a more functional coaching tree.

Andrew Luck has one thing you can not teach: accuracy. I think he was something like 23 of 24 from the pocket last night. That is insane.

If the Colts do draft Luck, I think its actually possible that they release Manning. Any trade would be incredibly messy. Though, he's never going to sign in Miami if he's available.

I think the only way Ireland saves his job beyond next year is to make a huge trade for either Luck or RG3. If he does make a blockbuster trade like that for a QB, his job will ultimately be tied to said QB, thus giving him at least another 2-3 years at the helm. If I were a GM, I would definitely risk attaching my name to Andrew Luck.

Dallas is not getting rid of Romo. Jones is not going to cut/trade his starting QB just because it would be beneficial to the Miami Dolphins. Get real.

If we do land Gruden, I bet Ireland will sell the farm for Luck. It will be a "Ditka goes golfing" type of draft.
