Completely agree. I'm glad he hasn't wasted any effort on finding a QB. What a worthless position. Everyone knows you build a championship team with great punting.

I'm sure this will work exactly as intended, and will in no way shine a negative light on the fans.

We've become Detroit. Ireland is the new Matt Millen.

Why is it so hard for people to understand that with this particular injury, once its healed, there is no increased risk of further injury? He's not going to be Trent Green out there; one hit away from the end of his career. Peyton Manning has no greater chance of a neck injury than any other QB in the league. It. Is. Healed. So stop acting like he's going to get touched once, and then drop li

First, people said his neck would never heal. Wrong. Then, people said his arm was a noodle. Wrong. Now, people say that, despite the fact that he's very close to being his old self, he will never get there. Are you really willing to still bet against the guy? But even if Peyton's arm strength only tops out at 85% of what it was, he has never been a gunslinger. Ever. Ever, ever, ever. He

I don't think Manning is that shrewd. He wants to play football. I'll bet he decides quite quickly, if he hasn't already.

Yeah, its a real shame that we missed the boat on some of those guys. Clearly several of them went on to have successful careers for other teams after we cut them. We really screwed up big time.

I would be surprised, and pretty pleased, if Ireland was able to get that done. Do they really love RG3, or are they simply low-balling the Rams to force a decision before March 8?

The nature of Manning's injury does not leave him significantly more vulnerable to further injury to his neck. Either the procedure was a success, or it was not. In Manning's case, it was medically successful. Therefore, he is not at an increased risk to a future neck injury. He shares the same odds as anyone playing in the NFL. These "rosy" reports came from both Schefter and Morten

Manning's neck is entirely healed. He is at no further risk to sustain a neck injury than any other player in the NFL, and by all accounts he's throwing quite well with good arm strength so it looks as if his nerve regeneration has been adequate. I'd jump all over Peyton and happily take 3 years with him. He's the only proven commodity in play, and he's one of the greatest QBs ever.

Keep in mind that there is no set limit on the lifetime of a QB, and age will not affect Peyton as harshly as it does other QBs, such as Favre. Manning has never been a gunslinger. He never had a cannon of an arm. His game is built on intelligence and timing, neither of which suddenly disappear beyond the age of 36. So, there's no rule that says after 2 years his arm is going to fall off.

I'm sure Ross made his feelings very clear to Philbin prior to his hire, and should Manning sign with us, it is most likely a clear indication that Philbin is on-board. I think it would also say a LOT about Philbin's opinion of Matt Flynn.

Manning is a proven franchise QB, and the only proven commodity in the poll. In my opinion, systems build great QBs (Rodgers) more often than they rely on generational talents (Peyton). Now, I'm not among those who believe that veteran QBs "mentor" their younger replacement, but it would be impossible for a young QB to back up Manning without learning from him indirectly. So, sig

If Manning does sign with us, I'll bet Ireland drafts 2-3 offensive linemen relatively early.

Why is it so hard to simply get a real band to play a normal shortened set of 3-4 songs? The lip-syncing was the real offense.

Probably wise to not believe a single shred of information that leaks from any NFL front office between now and the start of preseason.

Everyone seems to be missing a rather important aspect of this issue; the fact that, despite Marshall being a bit of a diva, he is offering a first-hand review of Moore. Perhaps this is a case of Marshall trying to find a scapegoat for his drops, but more realistically this is a pro-bowl WR screaming at the top of his lungs that Moore is NOT the answer.

Would definitely need a better pass rush from the DE spot to be successful in the 4-3.
