This is a moderated phorum for the CIVILIZED discussion of the Miami Dolphins. In this phorum, there are rules and moderators to make sure you abide by the rules. The moderators for this phorum are JC and Colonel.
Attitude always rolls downhill, and it starts from the top.
A head coach who is happy to settle for 50 yard field goals does nothing but lower the players' expectations. He has not been hired to be their best friend, nor was he hired to make them feel better about themselves.
Instead, he was hired to dictate the course of the team, which must include setting reasonable expectations. Players

I noticed that Henne seemed to have a different attitude from the moment he stepped onto the field, which only briefly left him after he threw the pick.
He finally seemed determined, and maybe a little pissed off about being benched, which I think is a good thing. He certainly played well.

They both need to go.
Sparano is not a head coach. He is a cheerleader. As such, this franchise is basically the metaphorical cruise ship headed straight for an iceberg, with Captain Sparano merely blowing the horn instead of actually steering the ship.

Does the coaching staff even allow Henne to make his own hot reads?
Oakland has been blitzing 8-9 guys all game, and it seems the Dolphins only response to this is max protection. Yet, in each case Henne's two receivers (sometimes only one) are running deep routes.
Henning is going to get Henne absolutely killed if he refuses to give Henne quick options to counteract the blitz, while also r

Someone get this cheerleader a skirt and some pom-poms, but get him away from the players!
He is a complete loser.
On a bright note, if he were to ever read this post, he would most likely applaud loudly and pump his fist like a jackass. Ignore the failures of your team and pretend everything is a success!

Regardless of whether or not Henne is the future of this franchise, he absolutely should not be abandoned quite yet. Henne was groomed in a very specific way, and upon taking that route, the team was inherently setting certain milestones in his development.
Let's all remember that guy was only supposed to have played a handful of games at this point in his career.
Thus, based on HOW he was

I don't understand how you can possibly say that Cam Wake doesn't pressure the QB consistently and needs help doing so.
This guy is, unequivocally, one of the bright spots of the Ireland-Parcells era.
Cam Wake is a monster. What game were you watching?

Futt thinks that mediocrity is acceptable.
I'd say that makes him qualified to be the next head coach of the Dolphins.

Yet another terrible game-time decision made by Tony Sporano. I certainly prefer aggressive coaches, but who the hell calls a fake punt on your own 30 yard line when it's 4th and FOUR?
I will be severely disappointed if Sporano is still in Miami next season.

Henning constantly calls drive-killing plays that result in large chunks of negative yardage, even when we're moving the ball nicely.
He will let Ronnie and Ricky gash the opposing defense for 50 yards, and then call a double reverse which goes for a loss of 15. Then Henne has to try and convert 3rd and 15. At least Henne has the arm to give us a chance in those situations, but it will get wor

We still need to spend our first round pick on defense this year, and then grab a RB in the second round.
Maybe a TE in the third.
We can't deviate from the plan at this point, and with another solid defensive draft we'll be stout enough to win games if they don't fire Sporano.

Sporano consistently makes poor game-time decisions. He fails to make adequate halftime adjustments. He is incapable of handling the clock properly, and the team always seems to be unprepared.
Henning is a joke.
Ireland needs to be given at least another year w/out Parcells looming over him.

For the first time in decades we have a nice collection of YOUNG talent. The problem is we have nobody to lead that talent, and nobody to coach that talent.
We need a head coach, not a cheerleader.

The Dolphins will never be more than a mediocre football team with a head coach who settles for mediocrity. He is far too content to celebrate failure.

Ross clearly doesn't care about winning. He only cares about putting on a show.
Two weeks ago during the Jets games, during a crucial, game defining 3rd down I was on the edge of my seat, and a total nervous wreck. I'm sure I was borderline intolerable to be around in that moment.
Then the camera cuts to Ross in his luxury box and he's not even watching the game. He's not even looking at th

The only real offensive production seemed to come when Henne was running the no huddle, and presumably calling his own plays.
Take Henning out of the equation and the offense moves the ball.

I said this after week one and nobody took me seriously. Now all of you are jumping onto the Krunk Fu bandwagon.

This is what happens when you give the elderly access to the internet.
"This guy isn't being serious on my forum! This is the internet. It's serious business! Now let me complain about everything."

I'm just going to bump this thread after every game, because its fairly obvious that it will continue to be relevant for 16 weeks.

Let's not forget the fact that only a few years ago, we lost these close games on a regular basis.
Now, even when we don't play well we can find a way to win. That is one of the characteristics of a great team.

The worst thing that Henne did today was his mismanagement of the clock in the final 5 minutes.
He was consisently (6-8 times) snapping the ball with 10 seconds left on the clock as we're trying to burn time. The end of the game would have been a non-issue had he milked the clock down to 1-2 seconds.

Here's a typical Dan Henning play-call as relayed to Chad Henne:
"Hey Pennington, hurry up and beat these hoodlums so I can get out of here and catch the early bird specials over at the Sizzler. By the way, do you remember where I parked my Cadillac?"

...has the offensive acumen of retarded giraffe.
It is also possible that Henning does not posses the ability to see beyond 10 yards, and is thus still under the impression that Pennington is the Fins' QB.
