apparently we are tied with CAR and the applicable tiebreaker will be a coin flip. I could live with #8.
Benjamin Volin @BenVolinPBP
So it looks like CAR and MIA draft order will come down to a coin flip. Conf record doesn't apply as 2nd tiebreaker bc of diff confs

I say we stay where we are, trade for Flynn using some picks next season, and use our #1 this year on a RT, our #2 on a speedy, big play, WR/TE, and our #3 on a LB/DE/FS...beyond that it should be BPA.

i would do that trade for RGIII definitely. hopefully we can find some good FAs though cuz we won't be adding much besides RGIII in the draft for two years.
I would be ok with Flynn but he is much riskier than RGIII
I think the only way Ireland saves his job beyond next year is to make a huge trade for either Luck or RG3.
If he does make a blockbuster trade like that for a QB, his job will ultimately be tied to said QB, thus giving him at least another 2-3 years at the helm.
If I were a GM, I would definitely risk attaching my name to Andrew Luck.

I think you hit the nail on the head.
I've been saying for a year that Ireland would be back and Sparano wouldn't, that they weren't tied at the hip...but I also think he's gone if he doesn't bring in a QB.
The single worst thing he could do for his job safety in Miami is go into next year with Matt Moore and another re-tread QB like Jason Campbell as our top QB options.
If he doesn't get Luck, griffin, Manning, Flynn or some other established franchise QB then he'll be gone...and rightly so.
I mean if you can't commit to, and over pay for a prospect like Luck, when are you ever going to proactively acquire a QB?
The question really is...do you think Ireland has the guts to go all in and trade up in the draft?

Im afraid Carl Peterson is going to make that decision.
