I ask this question because their has been speculation about who the next coach of this team will be, but in all honesty does it really matter who the stinking coach is? Whoever is hired will not change the personel that much or what players will play during games. This team started out 0-7, but finished 6-3 and was one of the better teams in the NFL during the last half of the season correct? So we need a coach to come in with some new ideas however the foundation of us being a good team is already in place. Yew we need to tweak the roster, and find a franchise QB, but this team can win with Matt Moore as the QB. So to me finding a big name coach is not as important as finding one that will not ruin what has already been built on this team. In other words our roster does not have to be completely torn down and rebuilt. Too me the new coach just has to come in , and he will find a pretty good team already in place in which he can win many games next year. Do you guys agree with this or does a big name coach really matter. One last question whoever heard of Mike McCarthy before he was hired to become the head coach of the Packers? Anyone really please step up if you can clearly say you knew who he was. Bottom line it's the players and scheme that determine how long the head coach sticks around just ask Raheem Morris if this is not true because his players quit on him during the season and now he is unemployed go figure.
HUGE. We are one of the worst Teams in the Red Zone , and Tony seemed OK with Feild goals. he probably wet his pants at home watching that 57 Yarder against the jets before halftime last Sunday.
Timeouts in the 1st Quarter? Really? how about 2 or 3 of them?
Sorry this Team slow regressed under his leadership. Nice guy, probably a great neighbor but he is not Head coach NFL material. Bye Bye Tony.
Huge. Look at the elite teams...they have the two most important ingredients a franchise needs:
1. QB
2. Coach
Look at San Diego..elite QB..terrible Coach. You can be an elite Coach, but if you dont have a QB...you will be average. Look at Billicheat's career, before Brady and since Brady.
Look at Jeff Fisher with Steve McNair, and after Steve McNair.
No. We were not one of the best teams in the NFL for any period of this season. We were the laughing stock of the league when we lost to Tbow with a 15 point lead with around 3 minutes left in the game (may I remind you that only 1, that is ONE, NFL team has lost a game in over 90 years after having a 15 point lead with around 3 mintues left).
We were (and still are) the laughing stock of the league as half of our team could not keep up with New England in game 1, ON OUR OWN FIELD IN SWELTERING MIAMI. A team from NEW ENGLAND was in better shape in game one than we were. Tell it to Shula!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Should I go on? We SUCK. Do not forget that.
It is like the situation with the US after WWII. Deming (American Quality guru) went to Japan after WWII to help in the rebuilding of the country. (appointed by the US President). One of his first statements to the Japanese people and to the American leadership was this: The Americans are in much more trouble and danger than Japan because America does not realize they need to work on thier industrys and economy, they feel that they are "good enough". The Japanese people are not in as much trouble because they have an accurate picture of their situation. A country that is literally blown up, on fire and has lost significant human resources and is shund by the rest of the world is not in as much trouble as the country that just won WWII.
When the US auto makers first learned that Japan was building an auto industry where they intend to sell cars in the US (back in the early 70's) the big fat US auto makers stated: "You are going to make cars half a world away, ship them here and compete with us in our own back yard...go ahead".
And they did just that to the big fat US auto makers that thought they knew everything.
We need to take off the rose colored glasses and kick some a$$.
Can you have a great coach without great players? Highly freaking doubtful I believe. I will give you Shula in his hey day and this years Indianapolis Colts without Manning, and he would not be able to win 6 games with that unit I'm afraid. It's the players who make the coaches and vice versa.
