It's interesting that while 21 teams chose to pass on Quinn in the 2007 draft; 72 teams chose to pass on Mallett this year. This takes into consideration that every team had at least one chance to draft Mallett, and some teams had three chances to draft him. Many fans thought Quinn was the man in 2007. He wasn't. Many fans thought Mallett was the man in 2011. The fact is that all 32 team

Picking a QB to pacify the fans does not make a great GM.

I have read that say Ponder was the worst QB pick of round 1, and I have read that he was the best QB pick of round 1.

Mallett dropped out of the first round, and people are still saying we should have taken him at 15. The fact that he made it past 31 other teams, including several with very definite QB needs, says a lot.

The Pats always move up and down. It happens all the time. Some people get all worried about it. It doesn't bother me. The Pats are still benefiting from hitting on their second pick in the 6th round pick in 2000. At some point, that pick will stop paying returns for them. Then we'll see how good Belichick is at drafting. Also, since that pick was made in 2000, they have had their share of

Read the history on Marshall. This incident (whether he is at fault or not) is the tip of the iceberg. This is not the first woman to have major trouble with Brandon Marshall.

I would love to see Marshall gone, even if we don't get market value. I don't think he adds enough to this team to offset the pain in the butt that he is.

Over the past few months, people here have said we should: trade up to get him draft him at 15 trade down and take him late in the first round trade down and take him in round 2 Now some may say he may fall further than round 2. This team doesn't have the luxury of wasting draft picks on character risks. We don't even have a 2nd round pick because we traded it away for another charact

I think the difference between drafting a guy at 15 versus drafting him at 35 is the level of confidence you have in his ability to succeed in the NFL. The higher the draft pick, the higher your confidence in his ability to succeed. In some cases, the confidence in a certain player is a bit lower, which leads to him dropping to the next round. There are definitely cases where a team would glad

I wonder how the typical NFL player would react if their cook/gardener/maintenance man/pool boy/cleaning lady etc. asked for raises based on the player's total income.

The owners want a larger piece of the pie, however the pie (total NFL revenues) gets larger ever year. In other words, the company is profiting, and the ones owning the company want the additional profits. The players will get a smaller percentage of revenues; but if I am not mistaken (and I could be), they won't actually be getting less money than when they signed the last CBA.

There is no way we would trade for Carson Palmer unless he restructured his contract. His current contract is ridiculous.

He made an elite play (also very fortunate) on that drive; but it would have meant nothing if not for a defense that harassed Brady the entire game.

If I remember correctly: Eli Manning was not elite in 2007. The key to the Giants playoff run and SB win was their defense.

The equitable distribution of surplus funds at the end of the year doesn't seem like a good system. Players should be given an incentive to perform. I understand that many people want to see the underpaid players compensated fairly. I agree with that; but in particular I am thinking of the underpaid players who actually play and play well. A guy who makes $600k and sits on the bench really ha

PF2 - I understand your position on this (I don't necessarily agree with all of it, but I can understand it); except for the fact that you call Sanchez a franchise QB. He may become one; but we have no more proof of that than we do that Henne will or won't become one. Do you really think Sanchez is better than the guy you want to replace in Miami? He certainly has the distinct advantage of b
