Firstly, that is not an org chart. It's a staff directory. Relationships are not explicit. I fail to understand why Hickey needs an overseer. And I fail to understand what credentials Tannenbaum brings to the team other than he built a team that qualified for two AFC Championship games (both lost). What has this man ever won?

FSU's director of compliance Derrick Coles may have let the cat out of the bag about an hour ago. He tweeted congratulations to three FSU players (including JW) then quickly deleted his tweet. About 20 minutes later, CB PJ Williams (one of the three mentioned) declared for the Draft. I also saw that JW's father said that JW would announce his decision after the Championship game. One could sa

I havent studied the Draft yet as I am still trying to bang out my final season-in-review column. Looking at the Draft purely from a needs perspective, the roster is still very shallow and I feel the Dolphins could go in any direction; there are legitimate arguments to made for each position, even QB (trade bait). That being said, I would rate linebacker as the biggest need area. They could cu

Comparing Philbin to great coaches is absolutely valid IMO. Shows how far he needs to go to be considered among the best. It says a lot to see Shula in his corner. Philbin cant be considered a good coach without postseason accomplishments.

What prevents the Dolphins from stacking the line is Flacco. He sees that and he hits you for more than just a yard or two...and he gets the first down anyway. I get what you are focusing on, but their o-line versus our fr

Straight up, we lose that battle more than half the time IMO. We didnt lose the game on either of those sequences.

So Baltimore converted a 4th and 1 on their side of the field. Big deal. Yes, it was a risk for them but they have a good OL so chances were better than 50/50 they get that. What I'm upset about is 1st and goal at the 4 and you dont score a TD. 3 straight power running plays, heck even QB keepers, gets 4 lousy yards. Unacceptable.

Upon reflection I think the biggest reason we lost this game was that we didn't run the ball enough. You can't let Suggs and Dumervil pin their ears back like that when you have a problem protecting Tannehill. We needed to control the tempo better. 16 attempts isn't enough.

I tip my cap to Miller. I haven't thought much of him since Ireland drafted him, but he's emerged this year as a good RB. He's strengthened his lower body and core, and he's cut down on all the dancing he used to do (i.e. more decisive). His pass blocking still needs work and he isn't the most reliable of receivers. And I wish he'd trust his speed more on the edge to make people prove they can br

The Ravens will have to do some things to compensate for Ngata's loss. JoeFootball Wrote: ------------------

I'm satisfied with the strength across the DL. They really have been the star performers on defense. I would consider something at LB however. I'm not satisfied with their play at all.

Ravens just announced that DT Haloti Ngata has been suspended by the NFL for the next four games for violating its performance enhancing substances policy. Needless to say, a HUGE break for the Dolphins.

I grew up with the 1970s Miami Dolphins. They were my boyhood heroes. My father's favorite Dolphin was Larry Csonka. I enjoyed The Perfect Backfield immensely. They were indeed perfect on the field, and very complimentary talents. But they weren't "perfect" off it. Kiick had a major issue with not starting, and just couldn't accept Shula's decision (which proved to be right one).

I grade Tannehill with a B-, though the improvement trend is still pointing upward with him. Year Three is a big leap year but many QBs don't blossom until year 4 or 5. I like everything about Tannehill, except for his struggle with the deep ball. I put some of the blame for this on the coaches for not spending more time with him to fix it.

Former Dolphins HC Jimmy Johnson has been named a HOF semifinalist. Congrats to Coach Johnson! JJ is the 2nd winnest coach in team history, brought us the latest wave of great players in Dolphins history (Jason Taylor, Zach Thomas, Sam Madision, Pat Surtain), and was also the architect of the last true winning era in team history.

I've been to Denver many times. Granted the time difference isn't the biggest issue, it's the altitude. If you are exerting yourself, you WILL feel it. Personal experience has taught me that even one extra day helps. The head coach doesn't agree. We'll see how the team holds up late in the fourth quarter, then we'll know how much of a big deal this is.

Neil Greenberg has developed a very unique and analytical alternative to the traditional and subjective rankings we always see. I'd love to know more about how he draws on analytics to derive his rankings. I find it very interesting! By Neil's methodology, which he applies equally to all teams, the Dolphins are #4.

Philbin told the media today that the team won't travel out to Denver a day early to get better acclimated to the altitude. He doesn't think an extra day will matter. I respectfully disagree with him.

I love Omar's passion but not some of his takes. I've chatted with him in the press room before, and so much of what he says is strictly his opinion but he casts it as fact. For someone with priviliged access to the team, he should be better informed.

Maybe Tannehill would be more comfortable wi
