New career highs in every major category and season's only 3/4 over.

It's legitimately possible he could exceed his combined 2012/13 production in rushing and passing game except # of carries. He would have to average 7 additional carries (from his current pace of 12.5 carries/game)...and the next time he gets 19-20 carries in a 2014 game will be the first time.

I'd congratulate him too, but wasn't he the guy who did the 'volleyball bump' causing that interception?

It's his 3rd year, and the RB he was SUPPOSED to be sharing time with was injured early in the season. It was an easy situation for him to have "career highs".

"Career highs" don't really tell the story.

He's on pace for 972 yards and 8 TD's. That's pretty good since he's only on pace for 200 carries. He needs A LOT more. Especially this week. He's done a great job given what has been asked of him, IMO.

Like I said before, people get motivated when someone like Knowshon comes in and but for an injury THEY KNOW Knowshon would have taken their job but for an injury.

LOL. Not really. What I meant was that when Knowshon started playing it was clear that Lamar had lost his job but then Knowshon got injured.

It was like Lamar was given a second chance. He is now playing inspired.

I have a feeling Knowshon would be around 1100 yards by now

Lamar lost his job even though he was starting .... uh ok.

I said Miller was good for the previous 2 years and would be fine this year. he is very good at running out of the spread offense.

The pass they are talking about was at his ankles, he had to stop his movement and come back to it. Any other QB throws the ball it would be considered a really bad pass. I thought the ball actually bounced before it got to him it was so bad. They had to go review it to be sure.

I tip my cap to Miller. I haven't thought much of him since Ireland drafted him, but he's emerged this year as a good RB. He's strengthened his lower body and core, and he's cut down on all the dancing he used to do (i.e. more decisive). His pass blocking still needs work and he isn't the most reliable of receivers. And I wish he'd trust his speed more on the edge to make people prove they can bring him down from behind. That being said, he's a LOT better than he was as a rookie.

He is better but the Oline is better than it has been the last two years as well...Even with the injuries.

Knowshon was injured IN THE MIDST OF THE VERY FIRST GAME.

Regardless of WHO started THAT GAME, anyone watching that game could see that up to the second before that injury, Knowshon Moreno would be our STARTING running back FROM THEN ON.

Here are the stats from that one game, (and it's even worse for your argument the earlier Knowshon was injured because Lamar got to finish out the game without competition from Knowshon):

Rushing Car Yds Avg TDs
K. Moreno 24 134 5.6 1
L. Miller 11 59 5.4 0

And IF Lamar started, that means that either he was benched after those 11 carries or WORSE that some of those carries came after Knowshon's injury meaning that his paltry 59 yards spoke volumes of his ability.

But I hardly think that even knowing that Knowshon would be out would cause Lamar to say "Whew, Knowshon's out so I can relax now! Think I'll take it easy and NOT make too much of an effort"

as opposed to thinking, AS I AM TRYING TO SAY,

"Dammit, I almost lost my job and the only reason I didn't was because Knowshon got injured. I don't want that to happen again, with perhaps someone else they pick up so I'm going to step up my game."

Maybe, you would think the last way, dolphin but nobody else would.

Oh, so you said something good about our team. As Gomer Pyle would say, "GOLLLLLLLL-LEEEEEEE."

Uh-oh, you went back to saying something bad about our team as you usually do. Who would have figured??????????????

The pass was low was it not? Did they not show replays to see if it bounced? I only spoke the truth.

I say lots of positive things about the Dolphins. In face most of my posts are positive.

This team runs well out of a spread offense. I don't have that same confidence in them lining up in a traditional offense and being able to pull it off.

And what about 90% of the rest of my post? Don't you think people see you did not address Miller and almost losing his job at all? That's where you attempted to get sarcastic.

Miller has been a good running back this year. How good could he be if the coaches would give him more opportunities?

As many running backs have said through the years...the more carries, the stronger they run.

Our running game is still pretty iffy. Offensively we never dominate on the ground, and certainly don't do it in the air. Little short passes are safe, maybe move the chains, but such a short game, becomes easy to counter when there is little threat of a 20-30 yard pass that opens up the middle. I'd like to see a big back like Lynch playing on the Dolphins--a guy that can pound the ball 20 times and make the defenders pay trying to stop him. We need an Earl Campbell.
