Thursday, 31 Oct we play the Bengals before a National (Halloween) TV audience. The Bengals are thriving and won Sunday.
After being out coached and out played in the second half against the Patriots we need to regroup to play hard on Thursday. After losing 4 consecutive games, will it be loss #5 against the Bengals?
On 11 Nov we play the Bucs. They are hapless; we should win that game

We are like colonial British soldiers.
We have a game plan. March with the flag waving, fife and drum, 6 men abreast with 20 rows. If that works great. But when the colonials, bushwhack you from the sides, take out your flagman, pick off all the men in the outside rows and all you can do is fall to the ground...you're not going to have a good day. The similarities is stunning. We have no a

Guys, losing these past 4 weeks is a real slap in the face and a recognition that much of what we thought about during the preseason is holding true to course.
The 2013 Dolphins team is still rebuilding offensively and defensively. I'll also add coaching wise too. We need some additional upgrades to the team and that means getting rid of average players and coaches.
I'd stick with Tanneh

Rick--you're upset and that's okay, but there's more to the team losing than Tannehill holding the ball too long. He does do that.
Today we saw him protected in the first half of the game and things were doing okay. What happened in the second, decisive half was a change on the Patriots D. They decided to blitz and our front line was not able to slow them. When backs are used to block they

The game is over and now we're 4 wins in the hole. 4 straight losses. We also play Halloween night against a pretty stout defense. With only a few days to recoup, it doesn't look good.
During the first half of the game, the game playing was a bit different than in past weeks. It appeared to me we were trying some different plays and that helped confuse the Patriots D. At the half we were u

McKinnie is making a big difference and Martin at RT is doing a good job. So is the effort of the entire team. Except for that bogus interference call on Wilson, the Fins look like a different team. All positive things.
17-3 at half time. Great effort.

You guys make some good points for and against. I'm leaning in favor of him working in the front office. There is a assumption though that he's not a lackey and will not just be a pretty face but rather a person that will put his heart and soul into such a position. When he accepted that old position and gave it up in a number of hours, it sure sounded to me then that he was not mentally commi

Danny Boy has a pretty nice job working the network games on Sunday. Quitting that to take a job in the front office would take him out of the limelight and put him in the hot seat, especially in Miami. Does our Icon, our legend want to lose face by trying his hand at management?
He would certainly be appreciated at first, but I wonder how tarnished his image would get if he too was not a s

It sure doesn't look like it's too difficult to prepare for us.
Now--conversely, we should pass and run when under the center, run and pass from the shotgun, have WRs turn 5, 10 and 15 yards down the field, and have Tannehill do a fake stare down to one receiver while throwing to another.
We should have our fleetest safety bump Gronkowski off his route and stick with him like glue.

I'm still seething over the Bill's loss and have finally started to think about our game against the Patriots. The Patriots are reviewing the films, checking our plays out, considering their offensive weapons, looking at our weakness and how to exploit them so they can win the game. They would prefer to blow us out of the water.
Knowing what you know as a Dolphins fan, what would you do i

WestCoast--you're position speaks volumes about the mixed emotions of all Dolphins' fans. Winning will stop the moaning and groaning. The problem that I see that has many of us vocal fans upset is we are seeing a trend that won't be reversed by other teams having problems at QB or else where. There is a systemic problem with management.
The systemic problem is one caused by poor judgment.

Dolphaholic you are absolutely correct. Announcers over simplify things. At some point in Tannehill's career announcers will stop talking about his time at A&M. They will talk about more relevant things like passes completed, TDs thrown, and yards gained etc.

Looks like McKinnie will need to get up to speed physically and with the play book before he'll play. It also appears that Martin will resume RT and McKinnie will eventually start at LT. So, Martin becomes the RT again. Don't expect McKinnie against the Patriots. It'll be the same O-line for the Patriots D to assault.
I sure hope Sherman has running plays going left and plays that get T

Eesti--I can be analytical with Tannehill. Words are very important.
RT is our #1 draft pick. His background is as a receiver and later as a QB for Texas A&M. He's under the watchful eye of Sherman. Everyone knows this.
What they don't know is what goes on between RT and his coaches. RT seems to be smart, no, intelligent. However, his time as QB is limited to working with Sherman e

Anybody have a monkey? I've got a dart board!
It is certainly possible this hiring could be a bust. I hope it's isn't.
As for Ireland: Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. Maybe he'll get lucky this time.

You guys are too serious sometimes. I wasn't demeaning Phiblin just pointing out my observations about him. I sure wasn't going to compare him to Shula, Seifert, Walsh, Landry, Gruden, Dungy, Saban, Wanny et al. No point in doing that.
Philbin wasn't hired for his charm, good looks or ability to be calm in front of media asking him pre-game or post game questions. He was hired, I reckon,

I've watched Coach Philbin's pregame, post game comments, comments after watching the game tapes, and see his demeanor responding to media questions. He doesn't get rattled about not winning. He is very, courteous, businesslike, laid back and his rhetoric is always understated. Most importantly, he is never definitive about any course of action.
If my dad were still alive, I could hear him

Agree, this is a little late in coming and only game play will let us know if McKinnie's capable of thwarting sacks.
Will he start against NE? I wonder?
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
I can't reply fairly to any of the polling questions today.
I'm with TRUTH and believe it's too early for legitimate major changes to be made. If we go .500 (8-8) or less a major shuffle in coaching is likely. I also agree that our biggest problem (need) is the O-line.
