Footnote to McKinnie trade

Josh Kaddu was released to make room for the latest Ireland acquisition. Another mid-round wasted pick by our brainless GM. Honestly, we'd be better off having a monkey pick our players with a dart and a dart board.

Anybody have a monkey? I've got a dart board!

It is certainly possible this hiring could be a bust. I hope it's isn't.

As for Ireland: Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. Maybe he'll get lucky this time.

I'd rather have a blind squirrel making our picks.

Even weirder footnote, is Philbin raved about Kaddu this offseason as one of the most improved players. And player he was most excited to see his progression this season.... I am not sure if they just make this sh*t up or what?

Wait a minute! Was Kaddu released and Clabo kept? I know different positions but why keep Clabo?

Yes Kaddu was cut... I can only assume since rookie Jelani Jenkins, has leap frogged him and playing well, he became expendable.. We cut Trusnik, and brought him back a couple weeks ago, and he was playing ahead of Kaddu... I just dont understand why Philbin singled him out this offseason as special, to only be a dud once again...

Kaddu has been resigned as the Fins lost Tyms (sp) to the Browns.

Looks like McKinnie will need to get up to speed physically and with the play book before he'll play. It also appears that Martin will resume RT and McKinnie will eventually start at LT. So, Martin becomes the RT again. Don't expect McKinnie against the Patriots. It'll be the same O-line for the Patriots D to assault.

I sure hope Sherman has running plays going left and plays that get Tannehill on the move so he can avoid being sacked. eye rolling smiley

Sadly, the left side of our line isn't anything to write home about either. What a colossal blunder this offseason was. Spend millions on offensive weapons and have no protection to allow you to use them. Thanks Jeff for ruining my Sundays.

As I've always said, ever since the Wanny days, "It all starts up front."

Skill position players are worthless unless you have an above average O-line. End of story.

Our O-line went from pretty good to horrible in less than 3 years.

The primary focus of any NFL GM should be to always be looking for ways to improve the O-line. Hire the right scouts and coaches to bring in and develop stud o-linemen. And thus, a potent offense is born.

Ireland, who I've supported forever, has done a pretty half-ass job along the o-line. Pouncy - good call, but that's about it.

I think the term "offseason" is the key here. Philbin didn't say much about Kaddu when TC started.

I read today where the question was asked...can McKennie be effective in the running game as Miami does a lot of stretch plays, which requires their linemen to run.

McKennie has a bad knee, which makes it very obvious that he can't run.

Now, does Philbin and Sherman remain stubborn and continue with the stretch plays or do they tweak the plays to allow for McKennie's knee problem?

As far as Clabo being released...difficult to do, and I am basing this on what the coaches are thinking. Clabo is better than the backups, which is why he had been starting. So, why would they cut Clabo? Wouldn't it be smarter to cut one of the other guys?

In my thinking, I would keep Clabo until I could find someone better, and once that guy is found, then cut Clabo. That "guy" just may already be on the Fin's roster (Watson, Thomas...)

They claim Clabo will be a decent backup. How so? I, and I think most of South Florida, shudder anytime he gets near the field.

So Ireland keeps handing Philbin players that don't even fit the zone blocking scheme. Two years later and we have exactly ONE (Pouncey).

Big Mac will probably only give up one or two more sacks for the rest of the season. (he has given up one this year in 5 starts)

BUT that doesn't solve the other side.

He must be terrible at run blocking to receive such a low rating (65th) after only giving up 1 sack all year. Clabo was ranked 66th.

Guys clavo is the same thing as nothing....he is invisible.

Its like having a big wooden dummy in front of you and all you got to do is push it away without almost any resistance.

I wouldnt care if we cut clavo. he sucks. and we cannot get any much more worse.

Well, my friend Holic the clown, I guess you're having a heart attack as McKinnie is not only playing but started.
