The editors of both the phinsider and the Miami Herald on how I felt there was a lot of cheating going on with the games, the ref's surely played the outcome of this game yesterday. I will let you all know the responses I get from these writers.

Hello Adam,

I normally don’t write on such things on a Monday morning, but I will express my feelings of the game in 2 words….”ref’s are on the take”. I am done with professional sports as there is too much money at hand that causes ref’s to sway the games. There were 4 distinct calls made poorly and the biggest one was the “batting the ball forward” which caused the game to really go the other way. Look Miami didn’t adjust in the second half but would have won this game had the ref’s called the proper plays. I will not waste my Sunday’s any longer watching professional sports, and would love to see everyone take this approach and put an end to the “controlling” of the game from outside influences. That’s my take of the industry

Strong! Agree w you that the refereeing was awful. But think it has more to do with incompetence than corruption.

That looks like five words to me, and one of them is misspelled. A journalist might notice that sort of thing and not take you seriously with your very first sentence.

ahh what? he wrote back to you with that?

Adam wrote you back and addressed it as "Hello Adam" then proceeded to say that a phrase of five words was actually two words, misspelled one of them, misplaced an apostrophe and quote marks?

Either he addressed it to himself or your name is also Adam. wow.

Modern journalism has surely gone in the toilet. I wouldn't waste my time with those guys.

You honestly believe what you said in that Miami would have won this game if not for the refs?

The start of the second half began Miami's downfall. NE started blitzing and Sherman and the OLine coach did nothing to stop it. It was almost like them sitting there scratching their heads and asking "What the hell is NE doing? That wasn't in our playbooks."

True, the refs didn't help Miami's cause, but they weren't the reason for Miami's losing the game.

Yes, we would have won, it turned the tide with that BS call on the sack followed by the ball ending up on the 50 yard line...it would have had them punt and we would be up by 14 still. Also the 3 points they obtain by another BS call so yes we should have won the game easily!

Sorry guys, but it is impossible to know (for sure) which way the game would have gone.

Would it have been easier for the Fins to win or the Pats to lose if not for those calls? Sure, but every team gets those calls on them, but all teams must fight through the calls.

Now, if it is two minutes left in the game and a call goes like that, then yeah, no doubt it had an effect on the outcome. But where those calls came in, we cannot know for sure what the outcome could possibly be.

The main point is that Miami doesn't have the kind of team that can overcome those calls.

Also, can somebody tell me if Sturgis ever figures wind velocity and directions into his kicks?

All of his kicks seem to be straight and none hook or slice.

Edited to add: I think if you talk about momentum and emotion, if he makes that kick it further deflates the Patriots (although one could argue it gives them more incentive) and if he DOESN'T MISS IT, we are not as DEFLATED as we seemed to have been.

We never get the calls for us that went against us in that game.

While i normally dont blame the refs, those 3 calls were HUGE and made the difference in the game. None of them were legit calls.

************************************

If memory serves me correctly, his first FG was made using the wind and velocity. The second one, as the announcers mentioned, had the wind die down while the kick was on its way, thus continuing on its path and not bringing the ball back in.
