What bothers me is the sloppiness. This against a team that is certainly not a juggernaut. Honestly, with Henning calling the plays, we can probably only be so successful but today the blame is equally on the entire offense, players and coaches.

As far as the o line goes, Jake is the best left tackle in the game, and I like Jerry's upside. I like Incognito's nastiness. Berger is ok as a backup, but we need a better starter. Honestly, I think Carey is the weak link to the line. Too many penalties and gets beaten regularly. Get a better center and right tackle and then let the line gel, and I think we'd be ok.

He seemed more relaxed and in command of the offense. I wonder if not feeling the need to "get the ball to Marshall" and instead be able to spread the ball around made him more comfortable. Not saying that we aren't better with a healthy Marshall, but it's interesting that his best game in a while came without Marshall in the lineup.

1. We are multiple players away, on both offense and defense, from being a legitimate contender.
2. Although there is no way to blame last night's debacle solely on Thigpen, he is in no way the long term (or short term for that matter) answer at QB.
3. Chad Henne may not be an elite QB, and may never be one, but he's the best one currently on our roster.
4. If we have a shot at a p

I saw where Cortland said that. My question to him would be how badly would we have beaten them if they didn't know what play was coming?

I think the experimentation was more a by-product of injuries. Clemons was dinged up and Reshad Jones was told he would get some reps. Quenton Moses was in because Cam Wake was hurt. I refuse to believe that a team of professionals would play for anything less than victory. From what I understand, Cam is hurting but ok. Jake may try to tough it out. Henne could come back soon, but may have th

At 5 and 4, I don't see how you can "shut it down." Thigpen's mobility helps if Long is out. I would assume that if Jake can't go, they'll move Carey to LT, and play a combination of McQuistan and Murtha at RT. Huge downgrade on both sides but, in the words of Herm Edwards, you play to win the game. Jake is a tough guy, so I'm not ready to count him out just yet.

Not enough body of work to say he reminds me of anyone yet. What I will say is that his mobility and athleticism give defenses something to prepare for that they don't have to with Chad Henne or Chad Pennington (unfortunately, he'll need plenty of mobility if Long is out). He seems to have adequate arm strength. Hopefully, the coaches won't be trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. Try t

Honestly, that FG redzone possession was more Marshall's fault than Henne. You don't give up 5 yards because you lose your temper. Five yards could easily mean TD vs. FG.

Oh, I agree... but that's why I don't want to see Young in there. At least Collins isn't likely to scramble for positive yardage. With the way our guys have been tacking, i

I hope Collins is ok... I'd rather see him in the second half than Vince Young... Gimpy or not, Young is more dangerous than Collins.

If Jason Allen was the difference between our making the playoffs or not, we were doomed anyway. He had a nice start this season but regressed so badly that we were forced to play Sean Smith who isn't much better. Honestly, outside of special teams, he was a wasted roster space. If Harris' knee is sound, even at 35, he's a marginal upgrade.

To those who think that adding Randy Moss is the missing ingredient to winning the Super bowl, I have as many championship rings as Randy Moss.
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
First of all, Miami was among 31 other teams that didn't file a claim for Moss. Not saying that we shouldn't have, but Miami isn't the only team that decided he wasn't worth the trouble. Randy Moss is a great talent... when he wants to be. The problem is that he doesn't always want to be. He'll either be a great addition to the titans or he'll be the petulant child he's been for most of his ca

Dan Marino was the greatest pure passer in league history. He did more with less during his years at Miami that it's remarkable he won as much as he did. If Marino had played with an average defense and some semblance of a running game, we'd have won a bunch of Superbowls. It's hard when you have to put up 40-50 points a game to win.

The following QBs currently have lower QB ratings than Chad Henne:
Mark Sanchez
Eli Manning
Carson Palmer
Kevin Kolb
David Garrard
Joe Flacco
Jay Cutler
Donovan McNabb
Brett Farve
Matt Hasselbeck
He's currently on pace to throw for almost 3900 yards and 21 touchdowns. I'm not sure, but those kind of numbers would be second only to Danny in Dolphins history. Keeping in mind this is

Question. If we had gotten the turnover and then had to punt, and then Pittsburgh scored to win the game, would it be Henne's fault or the defense's?
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Henne is the problem? How about special teams giving up field position at the most crucial times. I didn't realize that Henne was covering the wide receiver on the 50 yard bomb. Henne must have been blocking for Ricky and Ronnie and just wasn't opening up any holes? Come on guys. He's green and he's made some ill timed throws, but he didn't lose the game yesterday. In fact, he played well eno

I don't disagree that Allen's a liability at cornerback, but I'm not sure that Sean Smith is much of an upgrade. He's been burned pretty regularly as well. Bennie Sapp is a journeyman. Nolan Carroll has shown promise but is not ready and would be feasted upon if we put him in. We may be stuck with Allen because we have no reasonable alternative. That is an area that must be upgraded.
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Not sure I agree. Let's say hypothetically that the referee gives us the ball at the 20 which would have been the correct call. That would have meant that when the game was on the line, the team forced a turnover on the goal line from the biggest, most physical (just ask any of his underage dates--sorry I couldn't resist) quarterbacks in the game. We'd be heralding them for digging down deep an
