He seemed more relaxed and in command of the offense. I wonder if not feeling the need to "get the ball to Marshall" and instead be able to spread the ball around made him more comfortable. Not saying that we aren't better with a healthy Marshall, but it's interesting that his best game in a while came without Marshall in the lineup.

I agree. This came up on another thread. My theory is that Marshall uses his size and physicality more often than speed and fakes to get separation from the DB. Henning's routes weren't suited to that style, which made it difficult for Marshall to enough separation where Henne felt comfortable throwing him the ball. This caused Henne to have to WAIT for Marshall to get open making it seem like he's staring him down (which, in fact, IS what he was doing). I also think Marshall is "open" much earlier than Henne can see, because with his size he doesn't need as much separation as other WRs. When Henne waits too long it also gives the safeties time to come underneath and make INTs.

I really think it comes down to the routes and formations we run. Marshall is a beast, but we need to use him correctly. Henning hasn't done that very well.

I blame Dan Henning completely for this. He is totally at fault. The guy is 93 years old still trying to call an offense as if Czonka, Morris, and Warfield are still the stars.

This is a new day. New offense, different league, different era.

Henning needs to go.

Reppa, this is the second time you have mentioned something like this. You should really go back and do a little research, bud.

You will find out that there are a handful on each side of the fence when it comes to Henne. Numerous posters (myself, Ghotirule, Futt, dolphanmark and all other smart posters on this board) have been Pro Henne.

You will also find a different set of individuals (mia1, Welead, dolfan1, Bigstinkyrottenfish and all other not so smart posters on this board) have been very ANTI Henne.

Ok but it just seems like when henne plays well all the henne supporters are out in numbers and when he plays like a bum they are scarce and hard to find...

And who is the old man? where he at?

I've supported Henne every step of the way. But, I don't always reply to the idiotic posts that are nothing but "Henne sucks." It's not worth the effort.

I am still amazed at the over-analysis that happens of every Henne throw. People will talk about his good game, but then there was this one throw that was really bad, or he held onto the ball too long, or he should have thrown it to someone else. If we are waiting for someone to play perfect games at QB, we are going to be waiting for a long time. All QBs make mistakes, even great ones. Did anyone see Peyton Manning last night? Henne's completion percentage this year is excellent. If he plays his whole career completing 64% of his passes, he'll rank as one of the most accurate passers in league history. Yet, the 64% is not good enough, at least according to some. Every play is dissected, and its done so by people watching at him who know nothing about being an NFL QB. It kills me when I see someone post that Henne needs to improve his audibles. How the heck would any of us know that? Who knows when he's audibling? Who knows what he's audibling out of? Who knows that the defense is doing on the play? Certainly not any of us watching at home.

Most 300 yard passing games in franchise history?
#1 Dan Marino 63
#2 Chad Henne 6

Ricky on his radio shows when questioned said(paraphrased) the game plan was better because they didnt have to force the ball to a player who is not totally cohesive with the offense at this point. He said it should be good for everybody, show Brandon to find a way to fit in the offense rather then the coaches trying to force it.

Here's another observation...

Chad Henne is the only Dolphins QB to throw for over 300yds & 2 TD's playing on the road since Dan Marino retired.

Henne actually started playing pretty well after he replaced Penny in the Titans game and just continued it yesterday. I think the benching may have been a wake up call.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
Henne has been playing as well as he can considering he has NOT had a running game all year. We need to RUN THE FREAKIN BALL!!!

Look how Peyton Manning played the other night without a running game.

I say Henne has done as well as possible considering the circumstances this year.

Henne has been up and down all year. There are too many factors that go into one game for anyone to say he was a superstar or a failure. I have said all along that he has not shown promise when he needs to. The Oakland game was the first game I have seen him play to a high level and that was also a game where we stuck with the run.

He is not a superstar QB so he needs a good or decent run game to support him. And that goes for many around the league. Manning and Brady are the only two who I feel right now can carry their team without. So when we abandon the run, he is not good enough to carry us.

Bree's, Romo, Favre, Rodgers, Schaub, Rothlisberger. There are more QB's who can carry a team without a run game than you think.

None of them can and none of them have. They all enjoy a good running game.
Where is Manning this year without the good running he has enjoyed in the past? Forget the stats, in the past the Colts could run in the red zone.

Farve? Way over rated. He has lost more games with his gun slinger arm than he has won.

Are you kidding me? He hasnt had a run game since there superbowl win.

Manning doesnt have a 0-LINE, lost Clark, they havnt had a run game in three years.

Romo has enough recievers, wait till next year, there running game is non exsistant this year, and Dallas O-line is trash. Romo with Witten Williams, Bryant, and Austin is going to tear it up. Rothlisberger has put up awsome stats, and his running game last two years wasnt anything special.

Texans didnt have a run game last year, and even with one this year, there defense still sucks.

The QB's I mentioned if they where on the Jets team, or the Browns team, or the Chiefs, Raven's, Saints team's they would be devastating, hell even on our team they would be looking great.

Look at Rivers, he eats it up every year, and since 2007? Chargers havnt had a awsome Running game.

Rivers is up there with Manning, and Brady, and well you get the point.

Fine 5 best QB's in the league. Manning, Brady, Rivers, Brees, Rodgers.

That group can do it regardless, the others I mentioned are honorable mentions. Starting with the other Manning.

For a while, I did reply to them. I finally figured out that you're right, it IS a waste of time. Most of these guys don't want to hear any point of view expressed that might disagree with the vitriol they are spewing.

Thanks for making my point. The ones that don't have running games and don't have good defenses are about average this year. You made my point, thanks.

Stop being so short sighted. Elite QBs aren't born overnight, it takes time (with a few extremely rare exceptions).

I don't know who you are refering to but I agree with you 100%. My point is that without a darn good team around them even the elite QB will look avarage. Manning is a good example this year. Not saying he is not a great QB, he is, but without a great team this year he's not looking so great.
The elite QB will help win a lot of games, but it takes a complete team to get to the SB and that is just fact.

Just a general statement to the haters. At 25, I'm probably one of the youngest posters on this board.

To put that in perspective: Chad Henne is younger than I am.

Cut him some slack.
