For some Perspective... re Henne

The following QBs currently have lower QB ratings than Chad Henne:

Mark Sanchez
Eli Manning
Carson Palmer
Kevin Kolb
David Garrard
Joe Flacco
Jay Cutler
Donovan McNabb
Brett Farve
Matt Hasselbeck

He's currently on pace to throw for almost 3900 yards and 21 touchdowns. I'm not sure, but those kind of numbers would be second only to Danny in Dolphins history. Keeping in mind this is his 2nd year as a starter and first year as a starter from the start of the season. Judging from some of the posts criticizing him, you'd think he was putting up horrendously putrid numbers. Also keep in mind that we're currently 22nd in the league in running the football (which doesn't exactly help the passing game We're not likely going to a Superbowl this year regardless of who is QB. Anyone that says that Henne doesn't have the greater upside when compared to Thigpen and Pennington isn't being honest.

He is a stats guy..just like Marino. Just remember how many superbowls Marino took us to.

That's low. Are you saying Dan couldn't cut it? How quickly we forget our anemic running game and putrid defense during Dan's best years.

I don't think dolfan1 is really a Dolphin fan anymore.

Dan Marino was the greatest pure passer in league history. He did more with less during his years at Miami that it's remarkable he won as much as he did. If Marino had played with an average defense and some semblance of a running game, we'd have won a bunch of Superbowls. It's hard when you have to put up 40-50 points a game to win.

I agree. Thank you for the stats. How can any true fan even begin to criticize the greatest qb in dolphins history.

If danny had a running game and a defense when he was playing he would had won a whole lot of superbowls.

Maybe some here are so young they didnt even know dan marino had olivadotti as the D coach for a while so they just criticize like little girls just for the hell of it.

Sammie Smith used to be a dolphins RB remember lil kids....Or do you not know who he was. He was just great wasn't he?

I don't know whether Dolfan1 was using irony. Were you Dolfan1?

Maybe you were saying that even the great Dan Marino could not get us to SuperBowls since he had no help.

If, on the other hand, Dolfan1 you are saying that "What was so great about Marino and his stats, he never got us to that many SuperBowls," which everybody else on the board thinks you are saying, then I have only one thing to say...........

That is "Move Over WeLead and Psalm." I'm sorry, guys, you no longer can claim the title of the people with the most indefensible attack on Henne. Dolfan1 has now moved that into an entirely different stratosphere. You guys can't even compete.

At least all Welead and psalm stated was that Henne was no Marino. This guy actually says "Marino was no good."

Hey, don't attack him for not being a Dolphin fan. Even Pats fans, Jets fans and Bills Fans would not say that Marino was worthless. He is now not in the company of people who are just medically insane. No other way to put it.

Yea, you’re SO right. Being mid-pack in a worthless stat tells the whole story about Henne’s “superior QB play – especially the way he engineers TD drives and plays BIG in the clutch! And of course we all know Vince Young (#3 on the current list) is a better QB than Brady (#5) , or Drew Brees (#10), and the 29 or so others…

And of course Matt Cassel is a way better QB than Aaron Rogers, Joe Flacco, Jay Cutlet and Matt Ryan. Actually, speaking of Matt Ryan, your post PROVES THE FACT he’s better than Henne and as I’ve been saying – the regime screwed the pooch not taking him…

Thanks for the affirmation as such.
