They're not even being clever about it... At least pretend like you're trying to win.

The debate is moot. The new regime in Miami, if selecting first, will take Andrew Luck. Luck will do more than just play in Miami, he'll immediately become the face of the franchise and he will sell tickets. Having Luck as your QB will make Ross' investment worth a lot more. At the end of the day, its always about the money.

I agree. Its much more interesting to look forward to April than to analyze the train wreck that is the Dolphins season. I also think it's imperative to rebuild the offensive line. Honestly, we have two players that are worth keeping... I think we've given up 27 sacks so far this year. Amazing that Sparano's specialty was supposed to be O line.

I've read that some pundits think its important in getting a quality coach to come here next year that Ross show that he's standing by Sparano. I totally disagree. I think that the humane thing would be to fire the guy now and let him walk away with whatever little amount of dignity he has left (and after seeing him beg for a replay because he'd be fired---that ship may have already sailed). Ho

I will continue to be optimistic about the future for the following reasons: 1. Sparano will be gone (and will in all likelihood be taking Ireland with him). 2. I honestly believe that we will draft our QB of the future in April. There is a very good chance that its Andrew Luck (as I don't see any way that we won't have the worst record in the NFL) but Landry Jones looks very promising as

There is a huge cavernous difference between being 0-2 and 0-6.

I just read that the cameras caught Sparano pleading with the refs on the TD catch by DeMaryius Thomas to review the play because he would be fired. Honestly, what's the point of keeping this guy on the sidelines (other than ensuring that we lose each week). There is NO chance that he saves his job. It's already been decided that he will be gone-- just a matter of when. He's become a joke an

Not everyone will be happy regardless of who is hired. Cowher has been successful and had a history of getting the most out of his players and getting them to play hard. I'd be fine with him. I can guarantee that this would be a better coached team with the chin in charge (yes, I know that I'm damning him with faint praise).

I don't think those odd coaching decisions by Sparano were a lack of caring... I think they were an example of coaching scared. He said as much in his presser when he mentioned that at the end of the half he was thinking about the previous int pick 6. I think it shows a lack of confidence in his team (probably well deserved). You cannot, however, coach scared. In fact, with the season over, yo

Again, as berkeley223 correctly put it, no one is realistically suggesting that the team deliberately try to lose (though the second half of Monday night's game sure looked like they were). In my mind, I always pull for Miami to win. I couldn't do anything else. I have more time invested in this team than Karlos Dansby and Jason Taylor combined. But, since it does look like we're one of a coup

Totally missed my point Crowder52. I've been a Miami Dolphins fan for about 40 years, through thick and thin. I'm a big boy... we've lost every game this year and I'm not going to go out and pull for Green Bay or San Diego, or some other front runner... I'll remain a Dolphin fan for as long as I watch football. I always pull for them in every game. All I was saying is that when you have put tog

Yeah, at 0-5 (and if memory serves me they lost their last 3 games last season for 8 straight losses) you should do less complaining and more work on the practice field. It's ironic that people have commented on "tanking" the season when I think it's wholly possible (maybe probable) that we end up with the number 1 pick regardless. I saw a lot of quit in the second half of the jet gam

Tony and Karlos, I have a solution for you guys. I know this might be outside the box thinking for you guys but... how about winning a friggin game. Maybe if you weren't so focused on what the fans are thinking or doing, you might, oh, I don't know...win a friggin game. Perhaps you can focus all your anger with the fans for wanting a superstar QB in Miami, and use it to make a friggin tackle

Luck is talked about in the same way that Elway and Manning were. High character guy who was bred to be an NFL QB. We might have hit rock bottom at the perfect time. If Ross has any brains, he'll hire a Cowher or Fisher to partner with a likely elite QB talent in Luck. That alone will make us light years better. Plus, we might have gotten lucky (pardon the pun) with Daniel Thomas who with a be

Is that as bad as we looked Monday night, it's getting harder and harder to imagine us not getting the first pick in the draft. That would mean that we'll have Andrew Luck as our QB for the next 10 to 12 years and the jets will be stuck with Mark Sanchez (who in my humble opinion stinks)... Now, sign Cowher or Fisher as next years coach and we'll own the jets for a very long time. Add in the fa

Should be about next year. Mercifully, Sparano will be gone... We need to evaluate the younger players on this squad to see what we have. I'd say start Jimmy Wilson in place of Sean Smith. Activate Devlin as your backup and give him reps when we inevitably get several touchdowns behind. Personally, I don't need to see Marshall drop anymore passes this year. I'd rather see what Roberto Wallace

Actually, I thought he was unusually restrained. Had some "kind" words for his opponents. The Super Bowl prediction is old news... since he's predicted it every year since he's been there. The Vontae Davis Sean Smith joke is predictable... and Vontae should take note that if you talk big, you need to back it up. All in all, not near as obnoxious as I would've expected from Mr. Foot

You have to take Luck. First of all, with the rookie cap now in place, missing on the number one pick isn't as onerous as it once was. Plus, if you have a chance to finally get a franchise QB, you have to do it. This kid is talked about in the way Peyton Manning was talked about. Maybe he will be great maybe not... but you have to take that chance. Not having had a franchise QB has been an ope

To Fiedlerhater: I feel your pain. I have been a Dolphin fan since I was 14 years old. I got to see Griese, Csonka, Warfield, Morris, Kiick, and the No Name Defense play like the consummate pros that they were. Not to mention having the opportunity to watch the greatest coach of all time on the sidelines. I watched Dan Marino rewrite the record books. This present day collection of misfits doe

1281. Luck Bowl
Looks like November 6 will be the Luck Bowl. KC and Miami will battle it out to find out which team is more inept and therefore which team will draft Andrew Luck. Right now, I'd have to say that Miami is the odds on favorite to "win" the right to draft him. Sadly, that's all we as fans have left to look forward to this year. Anyone with the stomach to what this train wreck of a team

I'm not sure what Rob Ryan's qualifications are to be head other than being the twin brother of the fat as* loud mouth in NY. Nice head of hair though.

I wanted to hold out hope that Sparano would be the man to get the job done. Instead, what I'm seeing from him is the same deer in the headlights, denial of the obvious that I saw in the last days of... almost hate to say it... Wannstedt. He says that he doesn't have any answers. The players are saying that practices have been "sloppy." Taylor says that the team has lost confidence. S

1284. Re: Gruden
Honestly, if you'd asked me if I wanted him last week, I'd of said no way. Right now, I'm so sick of watching Miami get demoralized in games like last night... I just don't know. I'm dreading next week because I think Houston's receivers are better than New England's. Just what we need, our d backs chasing Andre Johnson all day. Sigh...

1287. Re: Gruden
"Maybe its nothing more than wanting to see a historic franchise regain respect again." Possible. But 1) we know that Gruden wants to coach again. 2) I think he has expressed an affinity to Florida, 3) Tampa's not an option--maybe Jacksonville but Miami would be much the more desired team to coach in my opinion. 4) My suspicions are always aroused whenever anyone outside of the Fins

1288. Re: Gruden
I would have to say, given Ross' history, Gruden would be a strong contender (i.e. next coach will be a "name" coach). Don't know how I'd feel about Gruden coaching the Fins. Not sure it could be much worse than what we've experienced over the last several years.

1289. Gruden
When Gruden said that he wanted Miami to return to the glory years and that he wanted the stadium filled again with fans.... didn't it sound like what a coach might say to an owner while interviewing for a head coaching gig? I guess it might be just Gruden speak... but it seemed oddly out of place for someone calling a game. P.S. I made no comments on the game because even thinking about it

I have a stomach ache.... It was probably the 7 hard tacos and 1 cinamon twist i ate at taco bell 30 minutes ago. That along with the phins playing tonight. My belly was about to burst 5 minutes ago. Not anymore. Coming out the Jon feeling 10 pounds lighter baby. GO PHINS. LOL. Thanks, I needed that.
