Haha, you should have taken Rodgers.

Fair enough. I was only arguing against comparing his knowledge to that of a fan on a chat board.

This has been talked about before but

Foster left practice today with a minor knee injury. Kubiak thinks he is fine and will play. Although, even if he plays that injury might slow him down a little, I think Miami will take any advantage we can get.

good analysis, crowder. and i like the wait and see mindset, let's see what we can do in a few regular season games before we write the team off and just look for development in our young guys.
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
great point fins72. In addition to that, we have a lot of expiring contracts after this season. I'm looking at those guys to see who is worth keeping around who to let go after the season. Also, I'm looking at guys like Odrick, Pouncey, Thomas, Reshad Jones, etc. to see if they are improving and taking their game to a new level.

injuries could be nagging, who knows what will happen. its not uncommon for nagging injuries to take longer than expected to heal. a few weeks could well turn into a month or two. that could be why no one has picked him up yet, i do agree though and hope we take a look at him.

I'm glad your still on board with Martin, good to hear.

you may want to check the stats on that berk. Plenty of OL drafted in the 1st round have busted so it is an accomplishment to pick a LT, pro bowl every season, and a C, solid rookie year and very possible that he will become a pro bowl player. Having said that, the odds are better on the OL than other positions, but if Ireland were truly as incompetent at drafting as you claim then no doubt the

Really DolfanKing? I thought Odrick played well considering it was basically his rookie year. He was inconsistent but had 6 sacks and some nice plays against the run. He wasn't disappointing, what would be disappointing is if he doesn't continue improving.
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Berk, what has Ireland ever done that makes you think he is desperate? Not saying he hasn't made mistakes, but I have never thought he seemed desperate.
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
No way TcPf. I think the QB room needs at least one vet to continue showing Tannyhill the ropes of NFL QB and be available for Tannyhill to pick his brain. I think using 1 roster spot to help foster Tannyhill's development and keep a very good backup QB is one roster spot well spent.
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Still not sure how we pissed him off? If he is going to be upset about the trade then he will be upset about it. Nothing Ireland said added to that animosity in any way.
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Ah, I can see your point now. I think that would have worked, but I think telling him why they are willing to part with him at all is a good bit of honesty that may help Vontae. I just don't have a problem with it and I don't see why Vontae would have any additional animosity towards the Fins besides the fact that we traded him.
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
What are you talking about Chyren? How is being honest with a player "proving your manhood"? Ireland gave it to him straight, told him he appreciated his contributions, and wished him luck. I doubt Vontae wanted to hear much more than that considering he was already looking ahead to calling his family. Ireland handled this well and didn't put a bunch of fluff in there.
Crowder,

I thought you'd want to know chren and alright you talked me into it. I cannot resist speculating on all things dolphins.
Offense- 26
QB 4- Tannyhill, Moore, Garrard, Devlin
RB 4- Bush, Thomas, Miller, Thigpen
FB 2- Lane, Clay
TE 2- Fasano, Egnew
WR 6- Bess, Hartline, Wallace, Moore, Naanee, Gates
OL 8- Long, Incognito, Pouncey, Jerry, Martin, Hicks, Garner, Samuda
- Murtha to IR
- QB
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
WHAT?
You want Ireland to pussy foot around when he is delivering this kind of news?
These are grown men. Give it to them straight. Maybe it hurts a little now but maybe Vontae will realize that he needs to get his act together and start performing better, thus benefiting him long term.
If I was getting fired or transferred or whatever, I wouldn't want my boss to feed me a line beca
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
chyren, you do realize you listed more than 53 players right?
I won't nitpick but I will give my thoughts. Lots of waiver wire picks at WR and DB so I won't post my 53.
Offense
-won't keep 12 OL, try 8 or 9 tops. Also, Murtha is probly headed to IR.
-won't keep 4 QBs, they have some decisions to make there
-lane vs. mastrud for the final TE/FB spot with clay playing more at either posit

Twiley, I'm not sure Fasano is better. It sounds like Cooley got cut because Fred Davis was better and they wanted to give Cooley a chance to start somewhere else. They weren't getting much in a trade because he was hurt last year. I say we give him a look and see if he is healthy. Cooley has been much better than Fasano when healthy.
