First off, congrats to the Heat for winning. Secondly, it seems like the Heat have figured some things out and could go on a run of championships (barring injury). - DWade has accepted the role of second fiddle to LeBron. Which is how it should be and takes nothing away from Wade. When you have a guy playing the best basketball since late 90's-early 00's Shaq, you have to play off his g

He is a Reggie Bush clone. Could probably do some interesting things with both on the field but Minny is not trading him so it doesn't matter.

In basketball, more than any other sport, calls will be missed. You will never ever see a game officiated more than about 75% correctly. If you can't deal with that then don't watch the NBA. Every team could complain about calls/no calls in every single game. That being said, sometimes the officiating is awful. As in lopsided or just badly officiated all the way around. However, that re

Interesting game one. Thunder got the win because Durant and Westbrook started nailing their mid range jumpers in the second half which opened up the rest of their offense. Durant or Westbrook might be able to do that again but I'd be surprised if they both get that hot at the same time again for an entire half. Heat need Lebron, Wade, or Bosh to make their mid range jumpers in game two

One more thing, this will be the best defense that OKC has faced in the playoffs. The Heat have already seen better defense from Boston than anything OKC can do, at least consistently. A&O, why the confidence in OKC or lack of confidence in the Heat? Chyren I am interested in seeing the first game as well to see how each team comes out. Things to watch for in the first game would b

So now Heat vs. Thunder. Good news for Heat: Thunder have no low post scoring threat like KG or Hibbert. Low post scoring is the Heats biggest defensive weakness. The Heat should be able to trap the ball handler on pick and rolls without worrying as much about the roll man (unless its Durant). Also, Perkins is pretty much worthless in this series, same as the SA series. Perkins is a good

I still think it goes seven games. Of course, I thought the WCF would go seven as well. The heat have their backs against the wall, maybe they will play with more intensity in the first three quarters (cough, cough, DWade). I have a feeling LeBron goes off in this game, win or lose.

you guys are pulling for Philly to beat Boston right? Heat can handle Philly minus Bosh but I think it would be trouble to face Boston without Bosh.

I am looking forward to watching the Spurs and Thunder wear each other out in a rugged seven game series. Hoping that whoever wins won't have much left in the tank for the finals.

I'm feeling more confident that the Heat can beat the Pacers without Bosh and I think they could beat the 76ers without Bosh. Worried about potentially facing Boston minus Bosh. Good win today. Heat need their three point specialists to start making threes. Battier, Miller, and Rio have been ice cold of late. Haslem's jumper waking up is a good sign.

Samsam, you got to give Incognito credit man. He might not be dominant but he is at least above average. Don't be surprised if we resign him (as long as its pretty cheap).

I don't think MLB is a great need on the team right now. Dansby is more than capable of playing MLB. Even with the hybrid defense, I doubt they will change each players responsibilities significantly. Dansby will only have have to make marginal adjustments between the 3-4 and 4-3 looks. Think of it this way. NE switches their look from a 3-4 to 4-3 more than anyone in the league. How

Its a great deal and a great signing. Now someone go tell that idiot James Walker at the AFC East blog. He doesn't understand the word extension apparently.

I agree BNF. I think most receivers spend a good amount of time on the JUGS. But, be warned, your going to see quite a few dropped passes this year because we will be putting the ball in the air quite a bit more than usual. GB receivers always drop some but they get targeted so much that it is bound to happen.

Guys, I will probably flip flop on this issue all the way up until it is officially announced. There are good points on both sides and bottom line, we will have to trust Philbin and Sherman in their evaluation and determination of Tannyhill's readiness come opening Sunday. I, for one, am ok with this. I have confidence in their ability to handle this issue. Philbin has first hand knowled

Drops are on the WR. It really has nothing to do with chemistry between WR and QB. If your a good WR and the ball touches your hands, you catch it. Now QBs obviously spin the ball differently but a good WR should be able to make an easy adjustment. Especially since WRs catch balls from the number 1 and number 2 QB in practice. Also, catchability plays a factor in whether a pass is consi

I agree with you Chyren. The only reason a rookie QB should start is if he is head and shoulders better than any other QB on the roster. If its close, you give the vet the nod because of experience. Like you said, it is way easier to pull a struggling vet and plug in a rookie than pull a struggling rookie and plug in a vet. Pulling a rookie might hurt his confidence and/or turn the fan bas

I remember Fiedler for two things in particular. 1) That Oakland game, one week after 9/11, where he scrambled at the end of the game for a touchdown and the win. Amazing. 2) The only home Fins game I have ever attended. We played Arizona when they had Emmitt Smith. We had one last chance at a hail mary and Fiedler threw this duck that went about 35 yards. It was the worst hail mary p

But Crowder, what about the players that underperform? Are they going to be the first ones to go to your GM door and say "I didn't perform up to my contract so I'll take a pay cut". Hell no. And once players have established themselves and good/great veterans, they will not take performances incentives as their main salary. They will want guaranteed money. Plus, when you base ever

Crowder, this is life under the salary cap. Go around to every team in the league and they have overpaid/underpaid players on their team. The old CBA inflates the overpaid salaries because guys were getting record contracts based on the rules at that time. The new CBA features a much tighter cap which makes those contracts take up an even larger portion of the current cap. As far as bad G
