I'd give a third for Crabtree, maybe a litte more. Gaffney would be a nice pick up

154. Re: WR
Yeah where did you hear about Crabtree? He is interesting. I think, Crabtree would be a good fit in the WCO. I wonder what the price would be? Probably similar to what we got from the Vontae deal.

to add on to that hooligan. I think it becomes easier and more rewarding to go through progressions when you have legitimate 3rd, 4th, 5th options, which we currently don't have.

Intelligence is critical at WR for the Fins system. Lots of quick routes that need to be adjusted based on coverage and blitz (also called hot routes) so the WR need to be able to read shell coverages.

No to wallace. I would prefer to look at some more modest players for lower picks. Lets keep our bounty of 1st, 2nd, and 3rds. Sadly, there are WRs to be had for 4th and 5th round picks that will upgrade our WR corps. I said it before, James Jones probably wouldn't cost much and he will be familiar with the offense. Packers have a bunch of young WR from their PS last year that they are tryi

Yeah berk, 2 years left. The timing of this deal is what drives me crazy. Are we sure his value wouldn't be higher after this season, I mean he did just get chastised on national television about showing up out of shape and struggling in camp.

Yeah that is ridiculous. Hell, I would put up with any player if he could swing us 6 wins in a season.

True enough Chren. When evaluating talent at WR, blocking should be far down the list. Blocking at WR can be learned fairly easily and really only requires a certain attitude and pride for the WR to be at least adequate. So I see your point and agree, catching the ball is by far the most important job for a WR. I think, in this offense, the studs will be WR that are smart (read defenses,

No, I would not even consider this right now. Let's wait and see what shakes loose on the waiver wire, I'm guessing we pick up at least one of the WR that GB drops. Also, let's start putting feelers out there for trades. We have an extra 2nd and 3rd next year, so we have some ammo to get a good WR or two. I think we could get James Jones for a 4th rounder.

Davis had talent. Can't say I'm happy with this move. One thing I wonder is how much scheme had to do with this move. Vontae is at his best in a zone heavy scheme. However, we are moving to a press man scheme, where, apparently, Sean Smith has been doing very well. Perhaps Vontae wasn't a great fit and so we got value from someone we likely would have parted ways with eventually. Anyone

Blocking is in the job description of a WR. They have to seal the corner or backside safety all the time in run plays. Those blocks are the difference between 12 yard gains and 30 yard gains. Sometimes WR will crack block on a linebacker as well and crack blocks are essential for the play to work. It depends on the offense but having WR that can block is beneficial and sometimes a huge bo

the pats can deal with it because for a long time they just cut anyone who stepped out of line (and still do). Then they brought in Randy Moss and a couple other somewhat troubled players. Randy and those guys knew to toe the company line because they had watched their fellows get cut from the pats for that stuff the previous decade. Thats the way to do it. Establish your locker how you w

Chyren, how did they F up? Are you calling Martin a bust already? He bounced back fairly well against ATL. I mean seriously, Martin struggled against one of the best pass rushers in the game, Charles Johnson, so he is a bust? He is adjusting to RT. Lots of rookie OT get flipped to the RT in the pros, it's not anything new. He will take time to get comfortable at the new position and learn

You don't move one of the best LT in the league because LT is the premium position on the line. Martin will learn how to play RT, lots of rookies make the adjustment. Bryan Bulaga did it in GB, struggled his first year and is now one of the best RT in the league. Expectations need to be lowered. Martin will get handled from time to time by some of the better pass rushers in the league, like C

Chyren, have you considered that without BM contributions to the drive that the team would never have been in the red zone in the first place? Dropping TD passes sucks for sure, it is a terrible mistake. However, we still get 3 points or another shot to score on the next play. Without BM, I doubt we get as many red zone attempts thus we don't score any points but instead punt.

who was blaming the QB last year? most of the blame I heard was directed at the defense (until they got in shape), Colombo, WR dropping passes, and poor red zone offense. I think everyone was pleased with Matt Moore's performance and was ok (or only slightly disappointed) with what Henne showed in the first 3 games. People wanted a franchise QB because a franchise QB guarantees you a chance

Were gonna try to stash at least one of these banged up guys on the IR and two young guys on the PS. Remember you can take a guy off of IR at a designated point in the season.

I agree with Hokie Fin. You guys are coming down real hard on BM and 85. Chad dropped one 3rd down pass in a preseason game yet many of you refer to him as "dropping key passes", as if its a season long trend. That is as much BS as anything I have seen Chad say. I'm not saying I disagree with the moves to trade BM and cut 85, I support those decisions. Although, BM obviously ha
