I'm sure he can kick. Ironically, Doug Flutie won the Heisman, was dismissed as too small to play QB in the NFL, came to Canada had a great career, returned to the NFL and won many games...and then...while with the Pats...versus the Dolphins....scored by kicking a drop kick. So while the NFL doesn't allow rouges....Tebow could probably drop kick.

You don't read very thoroughly. What does a 45% completion have to do with playing H-back? Throughout the discussions I have said that he would offer a variety of options and would provide depth. The Truth has a very valid point in that if he was playing H-back or Wildcat...AND Moore struggled people would be clamoring. But that wasn't your point. in the end...the Jets will have th

Bellicheat had proof that we was not the only one doing it...and if they came down harder on him than they did...he was going to spill the beans.

lol...yeah I know...I coach Senior High School. So did Mike Sherman and Kevin Coyle, Holmgren did it for a decade. And I wasn't actually saying that I am as good as GOOD NFL coaches....but I guaranteed that I would be able to find a way to get Tebow on the field in a positive way. That being said.....if I hadn't found a rewarding career with the opportunity to coach...and started a fami

Been coaching for 25 years. Met lot's of people who have disagreed with some of my choices. Every team I have ever coached has made it to the Championship within 3 years. We won undefeated last year, went back to the Championship this year, My two MVP's were out of the game by half-time. When my best OL happened to demonstrate great hands and good speed...he became my FB/HB/TE. It w

Who says you can't have both? I wouldn't want Tannehill starting this Sept. Would you? IMO, draft Tannehill, groom him, and start the best veteran you have. Tebow is a winner...Tebow in the Wildcat is a possibility. We have struggled in the redzone. Tebow is awesome in the redzone. Use him in the redzone. The NFL has always been an evolving sport. Positions change, styles chan

That's what I'm talking about. the guy is a winner and doesn't have to line up behind center to impact a game.

If Mike Sherman says Tannehill is the real deal and wants him? then I don't care if we take him 8th or 16th. What I wouldn't want is a scenario in which Sherman says 'that's the guy', then Ireland says "not at that price" trades down and someone takes him. If the guy you want is on the board in the round you want him? Make the pick. The last thing I want is to get screwed out o

Scoring in the redzone helps you win. Both Garrard and Tebow took their respective teams to the play-offs and won a play-off game. We haven't done that in over 10 years. That's no fun.

I thought I saw a Tebow thread, but it seems long gone. So I will reset the discussion. Tim Tebow is a difficult player. On one hand he is a winner. Whether by, luck, deterimination, fast reacting synapses, will of God...the guy makes plays and elevates the play of those around him. On the other hand, he is inconsistent, is unorthodox, and limits the team's offensive style. BUT...coul

I have no problem with Matt Moore being the starter...as long as we also draft a Qb to groom. Matt Moore did some things I haven't seen a Dolphins QB do in years. But the great ones do it in year 2 or 3...Moore has earned a starting spot and lost it before...so I wouldn't bet the farm on him. But, I will take a chance on him. Start Moore and draft Tannehill or Weeden. Groom them. Garr

Great points on Manning. The Broncos won their division with an 8-8 record. That was with Kyle Orton stinking the joint, Tim Tebow struggling and then getting lucky. They are tremendously improved with the addition of Manning, and they still have the draft power to put some pieces in place. We would need to add a speedy WR, fix the OL, replace Jason Taylor, find a MLB....and then play th

Great to hear from you! Great post too. I wasn't sold on Manning. Like you said...1 SB....despite years of dominance. Denver will pay a long term price if this doesn't work out. I think ireland has done a good job in the draft. But...when it comes to Free Agency....coaching hires...there seems to be some validity to the perception that he is disliked in the league. Is it the Dez Bryan

you have not presented equally accurate possibilities to which Occam's Razor would apply. If the options are 1) this team is incompetent because they have been honest and transparent about their intentions, motives and strategy and have been unable to achieve them. or 2) this team can not be judged as incompetent because they have not been honest and transparent about their inten

Where is EGDolfan? Seadog? or Old Salt? can't recall Remember the old Don Shula getting banned? You still here buddy? Didn't you change your name a few times? Listen guys....I keep thi

I can't confirm the veracity of the story. What I read was that Parcell's ran the draft in 2008 and 2009, and although he was in the draft room in 2010, Ireland was already in charge and straying from the Parcell's view of things. So Parcell's leaked it to Payton. what is factualy known and confirmed by Payton and discussed on Monday night Football, is that Bill Parcell's called Sean Pay

Agreed. but now we will have to deal with the whole Tebow speculation. IMO, our best option is to start Moore and draft Tannehill.

People like a winner. Parcells got lucky a couple times and helped teams 'win'...so his opinion became important. he's a dick. Last year he told Sean Payton that Ireland was going to draft Jimmy Graham and they scooped us. IMO, Ireland made a power play with Ross to secure his position and threw Parcells under the bus (deservedly so) for things like the Pat White pick. Ireland broke free

Well, I wasn't saying that THIS was our 'sole' intent. I said... "1) Make a pitch to get Manning...and if you we don't get him ,drive up the price. " whether you agree that they considered this or not....we did make a pitch...it was NOT a ridiculous...' Peyton 'couldn't refuse'...'WHATEVER IT TAKES' offer....and...our pursuit of Manning did have the effect of increasing his market

Hiring a new coach, trading your top WR and signing a 36yr old Qb does not seem like a realistic plan to me. If Philbin liked Flynn that much then he would have been signed. there is no way Flynn chooses Seattle over us if we made a genuine offer. We did not make him a genuine offer...we did him a favour. Looking at it from the outside...not knowing what they have prioritized, or what plan

I don't have a problem with starting Moore if we draft a guy or two. The Marshall trade was expedited by his idiocy, I wonder if the extra picks would be used to move up or get an additional 2nd? I was hoping for a competitive season...unless they see more in Moore...it looks like another rebuild.

Ok...so I hate how we look. There is no doubt that we look like the ugly kid at the dance. BUT.... I wasn't sold on Manning or Flynn to begin with. It is possible that the plan all along is to draft Tannehill and start Moore. If that is the plan...?...then why the sharades? 1) Make a pitch to get Manning...and if you we don't get him ,drive up the price. 2) bring in Flynn as a favo

I read Chad Pennington is coach Mark Sanchez on Tony Sparano's offence. That means he is learning how to kick Field Goals! A QB that kicks FG's would clean up in a fantasy league! sorry...had to do it :-)

Also, why let the Brown's or Redskins walk in and get a great deal. Make a reasonable offer...and force the others to up the ante. If they don't? We get the pick at a reasonable price. If they do? We made it cost them more. I would make that trade because it preserves a 2nd rounder this and next year. We would have a 1st, 2nd, 4th-7th this year and 2nd, 5-7 next year. The Rams would d

IMO, We have Moore...we want to upgrade but know he can start. We draft a young guy and groom him. Sign Manning to a 2 year contract that has lot's of easy to achieve targets. Give him $4 mill guaranteed each year, with the ability to earn another $10 MIllion. $1 million if he plays half the games $1 Million for the whole season $2 Million per play-off game. That way if he plays th

Don't disagree with the importance of OL...but I think we can fix ours without using or 1st rounder on another OL. Long, Pouncey, Incognito, Carey, Garner, Jerry, have enough talent to make a very good OL. You remove Columbo and you instantly improve our horrid numbers. Add a veteran free Agent and maybe a 3rd or 4th round project and we are better. Especially without Columbo. Our pass cat
