Owners will lock out the players. Reason is that without a CBA and no union, the players are essentially all free agents. What a mess that would be as the draft would not work and the league would be a freaking mess. Now the union will file suit and I suppose the owners will also. Then the courts will have to make decisions.

ChyrenB, "Leon, sadly, you are in that category. Actually Jefferson, Washington, Adams, and those guys were the elite judged by American standards. So its what's in your mind and not in your pocket. Sadly, Leon, had you existed in colonial America, you would have been a Tory." You are so freaking out of touch with reality that I can't believe it. You take a PM discussion and come to

ChyrenB, "What he does with the money is no more your business, Leon, than what the owners do with their money. I don't see you criticizing what the owners do with their money because we never find out." So tell me. Where did I say that I give a hoot about what the players do with their money? Where did I say anything about caring about the owners? If you read my posts you would fin

Phinsfan I could not agree with you more. What I don't get about any pro sport is people thinking they have to be set for life by playing only a short time. Football players are willing to take the risk in a high risk sport. They are compensated very well for it. I have zero sympathy for any of them no matter how much they get paid. Now no one wants to see a player severely injured but that i

"Not so Leon, the owners "opted out" of a contract that was supposed to go until 2013 I think. I guess you could say the players were wrong to agree to the opt-out clause, but to me that's a weak argument." If the players agreed to an opt-out clause then that is their problem. You can't blame the owners for trying to negotiate a better deal for themselves. No different tha

If the union decertifies then there is no union and the players are not represented by a union. In that case, couldn't the owners simply deal with players directly and not lock them out? If the owners don't follow through with a lockout after decertification then how can there be an antitrust case? At that time the owners could simply tell the players that they can continue to work under their

Anytime you buy a property or business, you should make your money going IN not speculate on making money going OUT. If Ross didn't do that then he made a bad decision. People make bad decisions buying homes all the time because emotions get in the way of good business. It's a shame but it's true.

"> Unions are famous for punishing hard work. Perhaps. But they are also responsible for the development of child Labor laws, the minimum wage, the 5 day work week, and the 8 hour work day in this country." You are both correct. In the private sector unions are necessary checks and balance. However, we now have laws that prevent unfair labor practices. That is one reason tha

Good point montequi, Green Bay is a small market and they won the SB. Think that might have something to do the the salary cap and parity? I really don't know what the best solution is, but I don't like a team getting no compensation when a player becomes a free agent. Something should be done about the free movement of players and the huge contracts for rookies. I also agree that the minimum

Tebow will be in Denver. I don't care what Elway said. In fact, I give Elway about two years as VP of football operations in Denver and he will be gone. Just my opinion.

As you all should know by now, I'm really big on the OL and building the team first. However, if Gabbert dropped that low and we don't take him, even moving up that small amount, it would be really dumb. You don't get talented QBs falling your way very often as we all know. We should and I believe we would get him. Do I think it will happen? I think he will be long gone by then.

True enough Odenn, but particular players they might be looking to draft are kept under wraps. That's just being smart for obvious reasons.

Interesting how he paid attention to the OL but they stunk it up last year.
