Joe Robbie did not name it for himself when he built it; he named it for the Dolphins. However he passed away very soon after its completion, at which time it was named in his memory:

This is a big improvement, if only in terms of the name itself (disregarding for a moment what types of products are involved). Think about it. LandSHARK doesn't make much sense for Dolphins arena. "Sun Life" has a great connotation for S.FL in the sunshine state.

Just this morning a co-worker was moping around the office ( I live & work in the Boston area) and said to me 'hey...black monday, huh' At first I thought there was a massive downturn in the opening financial markets that I was unaware of. Then I realized he was depressed about the Pats getting their CHEATING ASSES KICKED. I turned around and said "oh...are you referring to the Pa

Frankly it kind of bores me. I was only commenting on the 'problem' of scoring too fast. When we score a TD, I'm happy, no matter how quick it happens.

Oh yeah,...can't have that. Also, we should down the ball on every Kickoff return and fair catch on every punt return because we don't want to score on a return...that'd be TOO FAST! N

A roof would make the stadium comfortable, for fans....and for the visiting opponents. Does anybody out there care about actually winning games anymore? The heat is an advantage to us at home...or should I say, "was" an advantage. Oh well, they'd already all but stopped the 1:00 starting times anyway for home games, so our home-field advantage due to the weather was drastical

I've mentioned the following in the past on this forum, but it's worth mentioning again: Does anyone know who was the first African American to start a football game as QB in modern era Professional football? Marlin Briscoe, as a Denver Bronco. He ended up a Miami Dolphin, and guess what position he played? After a few years as a successful receiver for the Bills (including one 1000yd+ sea

This is why I think this highly touted "uncapped year" won't happen. The players' union will get grief from some of their most senior guys, the very ones who are subject to getting cut in an uncapped year. I predict the Union will compromise and a deal will be made during the offseason, no uncapped year.

I have no opinion on the specific performance by Dierdorf this week as the game was not shown where I live, but...I wouldn't be surprised if he personally had it in for us because: Some of the Dolphins alumni who played during the same time as Dierdorf criticized his induction into the HOF a few years back. They claimed (rightly so) that dierdorf got in the Hall because he's currently on TV
