It's not a bad idea in general. Lots of QBs made have made the transition to receiver. On our own team in addition to Jim Jensen there was Marlin Briscoe, who played QB for the Broncos and was a effective WR for us, who also chucked a couple passes once in a while.

I thought it was interesting to read today that he actually has a quadriceps injury, not a torn knee ligament. He's still out for the year, but his recovery should hopefully be somewhat easier from a quad injury, let's hope.

They didn't try the field goal because it was longer than a chip shot, and I'm guessing they thought the risk of a block and runback was too great, esp. with so man of our blockers injured.
