Just this morning a co-worker was moping around the office ( I live & work in the Boston area) and said to me 'hey...black monday, huh' At first I thought there was a massive downturn in the opening financial markets that I was unaware of. Then I realized he was depressed about the Pats getting their CHEATING ASSES KICKED.
I turned around and said "oh...are you referring to the Pats' game? I'm from Miami, so you know where I stand on that issue" Just made the guy even MORE depressed. I think I need to go remove his letter opener, stapler and other sharp objects from his desk.
Geez. I sincerely hope Pats fans don't turn suicidal It was going to happen. No team is dominant forever.
You'd think since the Superbowl loss and missing the playoffs last year the level of expectations for the Pats would lessen a bit. I guess it hasn't for their fans.

The Pats fans got EXTREMELY spoiled. It's kind of weird because the other Boston teams' fans have/had been remarkably patient. The Sox won in '04 and '07 but before then they went 86 years without a championship. Still had droves of die-hards during all that time. I'd be willing to bet that if they were doormats for the next 10 years they wouldn't get the treatment that the Pats have gotten from their "fans/"
Same deal with the Celtics. Although they won two seasons ago, they went something like 20 years without a great team, yet still were able to charge $100+ for seats near the court and still draw decent crowds.
Bruins too, I dont' follow hockey at all but the B's have some extremely loyal fans despite their lack of success in the past few decades.
Let's face it, the Pats are a scum organization with crappy fair-weather fans.
I love the Sox and the Celts... but the pats can die. Ray Allen is the man and I hope Papi steps it up this year for the RS. I can't wait for Bellicheat to take a walk, Brady to go be an underwear model with his gf and Moss to go where he came from... maybe Wes would come back here if they did? Jason did.
The Pats are no better off next year than Dolphins or the Jets. The defense team is filled with a bunch of average roll players and Wilfork who might leave anyways. The offense next year is going to Brady and an aging Moss. NE Dynasty is over.

Oh I think your giving NE too much credit. The DECADE OF DOMINANCE is over. The NY Jets are the clear favorites going into next year. I dont care if they lose 50-0 on Sunday to SD. Jets have the best defense in the NFL. Hot young QB who has played big in a road playoff game. Best running game in the NFL. On paper, heading into the 2010 season the Jets are the clear favorites in the AFC East. As much as I hate them you can't deny them that.

I didn't ask you, and you didn't ask me, but hear me out on how the following could happen to a transplanted Miami Native:
When I grew up in S. Fl. there were NO OTHER PRO TEAMS in the ENTIRE state of Florida, for ANY major sport! The Marlins weren't formed yet, nor had the Heat been formed. Hockey? No such thing! The only place that had anything related to ice skating was the Polar Palace on 36th street.
So what's a kid to do when baseball season comes around? Root for the Yankees like 99% of South Floridians did? Not this kid. Everyone moved to Miami from NY and all they talked about was the Yankees (these are the same people who've lived in S Fl for 35 years but still wear Jets garb to JRS). Everyone who moved to the area from Latin America worshipped "Los Yanquis" . So screw that, who are the Yankees' biggest rival? the Red Sox? Okay that's my team!
Same deal with the Lakers. EVERYBODY loved the Lakers when I was growing up in a pre-Heat south florida. Not this kid....who are the Lakers' worst adversary? The Celtics? Okay, that's my team.
I know, I had a warped mentality as a child.
I've been a fan of the Boston non-football teams before I'd ever even visited Boston much less lived in the area. By the time the Heat & Marlins were born, I'd checked out of the area. I don't hate the Heat or the Marlins, I just have no attachment to them as I do with the Phins.

Okay I hear what you're saying and I see where you're coming from. Here's my problem.... at the end of the day, I know that most of those fans standing up cheering the Redsox and Celtics on are the same massholes that cheer for the Patriots, cut the sleeves of their sweatshirts off to look like Bill Belichick, and kiss their Tom Brady centerfold pictures on the lips before going to bed at night.
Obviously you don't fit into that category and I'm being tongue in cheek about the whole thing anyway, but just thought I'd throw that out there

Boy is that true hahaha. Absolutely.
Don't forget, cup of crappy coffee in hand: Styrofoam dunkin donuts cup that is about 60% cream, with 10 sugars in it.
Radio constantly tuned in to local sports talk where the announcers constantly kiss Brady & Bellichick's butt right through the microphone, and the callers always talk about how "we coodnt make 'jussments in the sekkin HOFFFF"
