The building has a new name. And it takes place ASAP meaning the Super Bowl will be played at "SUN LIFE STADIUM"

5 year deal that pays the organization $7.5 mil per year.

It's an OK deal I guess. Gives the organization some long-term stabililty with naming rights but the payout is a little light.

This is lame. I'll take Landshark Stadium any day. I guess the economics makes it worth while, that and we can't have a stadium named after an alcoholic beverage.

This is a big improvement, if only in terms of the name itself (disregarding for a moment what types of products are involved).

Think about it. LandSHARK doesn't make much sense for Dolphins arena. "Sun Life" has a great connotation for S.FL in the sunshine state.

I can't (don't want to) keep up with all the changes. I can see where "Sun Light Stadium" makes some kind of sense, but for me it will always be JRS.

Did they get bailout money? If so, we're paying to name the Stadium that

It was originally Joe Robbie Stadium.

Now, since he is dead it should forever be; Joe Robbie Memorial Stadium.

If they want a sponsorship deal then it should be; Joe Robbie Memorial Stadium...sponsored by Sun Life. Of course with the Sun Life logo plastered on everything in sight.

The way I remember it, it was originally Dolphins Stadium--albeit for a very short time. Joe Robbie did not name it for himself when he built it; he named it for the Dolphins. However he passed away very soon after its completion, at which time it was named in his memory: Joe Robbie Stadium

I agree with you though; I would love to see it permanently named after him.
