I am giving this Miami draft a C only because we didn't get the top name guys (although Martin was rated pretty high) and Miller, who was rated as a 2nd rounder. This draft will come down to Tanney. If he becomes Miami's starting QB and stays there and leads Miami to the post season, then the grade can come up. From round 5 thru 7, I can't say because I don't know those players. Based on

2774. Re: Trade
I understand that it is possible to get a guy who ends up starting, but in the big picture and history of the league, that doesn't happen very often. If Miami had kept that 79th pick, they could have gotten an "almost" sure starter, unless there just wasn't anyone left on their draft board who they thought could immediately help the team. I just think that Miami had an advantag

2776. Trade
What the hell is with our brain trust? They traded down from the 79th pick to the 78th plus a 6th rounder? What kind of value is that? What has been the tradition of Miami's 6th round picks? Basically guys no one has ever heard of and 9 times out of 10 get cut. Then they select Lamar Miller. Don't get me wrong; I think he is a good player but, IMO, is a luxury. The Fins already hav

Gasp! I'm amazed at the negativity on this board. Miami needed a QB; Tanney was the best available. Some of you are talking stats. Sure, Tanney's stats aren't as good as some of the other guys, but are you guys looking at the system they all played in and what talent they had (or didn't have) around them? I have also heard/read where Tanney's receivers dropped a hell of a lot of b

Do you guys think that our QB woes could have been solved in the 2007 draft if Miami had taken Aaron Rodgers instead of Ronnie Brown?

I agree, but not wholeheartedly with supporting any pick Ireland makes. There have been some terrible picks in the past (not always on Ireland) that we fans knew should have never been made (Eddie Moore anyone?). Then I think last year when Ireland traded up to the second round I believe all the Finfans thought it was to grab Mallett. Not saying Thomas was a bad pick, but Miami is stil

I watch NFLN. When they go to a commercial, I flip over to ESPN. Is Deion still going to be there with his marriage problems right now? I also like to listen to Mayock. He is almost always right on the money. I'll also take Eisen over Burman.
