Don't forget that perfect passer rating game came with Tannehill not throwing a single pass farther than 5.5 yards beyond the LOS. It was all quick slants and bubble screens that many Tannehill supports hate and think is restricting his play making ability. So in essence, the only time he's really had a great game passing wise it was because he was being handcuffed. Hmmm..

Only voted because my reply wouldn't post until I did. I didn't get to watch the game last night, but I did read this morning and the Kubiak spent quite some time talking about how many hits his QB was taking and that he can't have that continue to happen. So the Broncos OL was apparently horrible last night, regardless of official sack total.

Jaws was on ESPN Radio today on the Jalen & Jacoby show, they were having a wonderful time talking about how hysterical the Dolphins have been this week, starting with Suh's comments to the team (that he denied), Pryor's twitter response to Tannehill's comments about him celebrating the injury to Matthews, the firing of Lazor and there was probably some other stuff thrown in there as well.

So you're a real big Sean Payton fan, eh? I'll agree that he'll probably have better choices, and it also negates our benefit of having already fired our coach and getting through our candidates early. But I do like the fact that he is aggressive as a coach and wants to attack defenses. None of this short passing game BS or trying to keep the game close and win in the 4th quarter like Sparano.

Brandon Marshall was a Pro Bowler before coming to Miami, was a stud while in Miami, was a stud in Chicago and is still pretty good with NY. He didn't leave the Dolphins and become "way more successful". Wes Welker, I already talked about. Vontae Davis was a great corner for us and is a great corner for the Colts. Has he gotten better while with the Colts? Eh, maybe by a bit but

I'm bewildered by the notion that there's a history of players leaving the Dolphins going elsewhere and being "way more successful", yes. And you didn't provide any support to back up that claim, so I'm still waiting for it. The number of ex-dolphins on the Bills and Jets is irrelevant to your claim. You need to show that those players are "way more successful" on the Bill

Actually, it's the opposite. The NFL decided not to purchase stakes in FanDuel or DraftKings and instead allowed their "members" and "partners" to do so. FanDuel is owned by Comcast, NBC Sports and the NBA. DraftKings is owned by MLB, NHL, the Patriots, ESPN and Fox. This is hardly a case of "the little guys" muscling in on "the establishment". It's

You're a bit late to the party. It's not just NY, it's multiple states. I don't know enough about how these daily fantasy sites actually work to say if there's actually any skill involved. But I think the fact that it is specifically these daily fantasy sites and not full on fantasy leagues, indicates that there is something different going on. Personally, I think people should be able to

I'd just like to mention that Brees led the Chargers to 11-4 and 9-7 before he was released and at that point, he was only released because when Brees win/loss record was 2-9 the season before the 11-4 season, they drafted Eli Manning and then traded him for Rivers. Brees still kept Rivers on the bench with those 11-4 and 9-7 seasons, even playing under the franchise tag until the Chargers jus

Kessler is a small QB, that's where he should be available unless he were clearly a special player - and that is not evident. Oh, and I didn't mention it above, but even as I say that we should focus our first picks on LB and CB and keep Tannehill for another year and not replace Campbell, I still think we absolutely should grab a QB in the 4th round or so. The third might be a bit early, but

I guess you just have a higher opinion of Moore than I do. I don't see him as anything special, when he was available as a FA, nobody in the league went after him. He's not even in the Hoyer/McCown league, IMO. I think we agree that when the head coach says the QB's attribute is that he's "tough" and that the head coach believes he needs to "run more", then that's exac

There's no other single position on this team that can be upgraded to an All-Pro level that will result in the number of wins that upgrading the QB position to an All-Pro level would do. This team wins 3-4 more games per year with an All-Pro QB, with the rest of the team as is. Putting Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers on this team makes it a perennial playoff contender, moving our avera

J13 - replacing Albert or James? That's a serious question, by the way. Depending on where we finish the year, where we draft and what the coach situation is changes what we should do. I see three, maybe four, legit 1st round QB's. By that, I mean QB's who would go Top 10 or so. I think after that, you start drafting second round talent in the first round at the QB position. The iss

What is the point in playing Moore? He's got his own faults, I'm not sure if his combination of strengths and weaknesses will result in any more wins than Tannehill's do. The reason people continue to harp on Tannehill is two fold. 1) Lots of people believe you need a franchise QB to win. I've written books on it lately, KB wrote a book about it in this thread. If that's what you believe, th

I agree that Tannehill won't ever be able to do that, either. So if your point is we should just do roll-outs to maximize what Tannehill can do well, I suppose that makes some sense. But it's not a solution, it's a bandaid.

What players have left here and are way more successful? For the most part, what I see are mediocre Dolphins players that have lots of homer support here and then completely vanish off the face of the earth when leaving. What is this myth that players go elsewhere and become stars based upon? Welker? It's no surprise he left and played better, he went from our hot mess at the QB position to

I think we're on the same page, here. It's been 3.5 years, he's had every opportunity to succeed including the unheard of chance to transition to the NFL into the same exact offense with the same exact play caller. He is what he is. I'll also agree that Tannehill's best throws come on the run, when he's rolling out of the pocket and on the move. I'm not sure we're going to agree on the

I think we do know the truth. We do know that Tannehill can change from a run to a pass and from a pass to a run. We do know that Tannehill can change the protection. We do know that Tannehill can change the routes the receivers are running by making hand signals. All these things are stated by Tannehill, Lazor and Campbell and none are in conflict. What we also know is that Tannehill ha

I agree on both your key points. You don't need an overall great team to make the playoffs and you don't need an overall great team to win a Championship. Were there combinations of "good" and "mediocre" that got into a Championship game? Probably. I'll bet there were probably more than a few. I guess I just don't see the point? Like I did with the Ravens and Bucs in t

This whole audible thing is ridiculous. First, you have to make a distinction between what players and what journalists and fans refer to as audibles. The true definition of the audible is the ability to change to any play in the playbook. The reality is that very few QB's have the option to change from the play called into them that they are intended to run to any random play in the play

So, I think one of the above posters meant Marty and not his son Brian. Also Fox went from Carolina to Denver to Chicago - not Atlanta. And didn't John Fox just prove Richardson right? Always a bridesmaid never a bride? On the flip side, Couglin had success with the Jaguars was fired because he couldn't take them to the next level and won with NYG. Dungy same thing, Bucs to Colts. Chryen - Not sure I follow what you are saying, so I'm not sure if I agree or disagree. I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish? Are you trying to win a championship? If you want to win a championship, then no.. I don't see how a combination of "good" and "mediocre" makes for a Championship team. I'm not sure how you are defining "good" differently than &

Well, Treasure, that's the reason I started my post the way that I did. If you don't believe you need a franchise QB to win consistently or if you don't believe a franchise QB covers up other deficiencies then you must believe that having an average QB is okay and will move on and focus your attention on other areas of need. There are plenty of other areas of need on this team, there's no que

Either you think you need a franchise QB to win consistently, or you don't. Either you believe a franchise QB makes up for deficiencies at other positions, or you don't. It's no different than Ronnie Brown VS Ricky Williams. Both were big, powerful, relatively fast running backs. Ronnie Brown was nothing more than average and Ricky Williams could have been in the HOF if he had liked playing

It's either the first round or late/undrafted, it seems. Drafting QB's with enough flaws to not be considered first round picks in the 2nd or 3rd round rarely pays off. As does trading up into the bottom of the 1st round to grab a guy you already passed on because they are still available. The problem with the "Dan Marino Scenario" and attempting to repeat that as a strategy is tha

I think I voted incorrectly, but then I think the poll is worded oddly. Either the playoff spot bit matters or it doesn't, so the 'try' is my problem. I voted for lose, better draft pick. If the other choice was win and go to the playoffs (even lose in the first round, whatever), then I would vote for that. However, as I stated before and as was mentioned in this thread, with our loss

I was one who wanted Fiedler gone from just about the first time he stepped on the field. It was obvious that his lack of arm strength and inability to push the ball vertically down the field was going to be a fatal flaw to the team and its offense. Little did I know at the time that I should at least be happy that he wanted to the throw the ball down the field and kept trying to do so and th

Yeah, accepting the premise that our biggest offseason needs were run defense and red zone scoring, we did sign the best DT and best TE available in free agency. We also our 1st and 2nd round picks on a big physical WR and a huge DT. Just like we've spent a million picks on the interior OL and the secondary, and both are still problem areas. Just about the only problem area that the fron
