This is a moderated phorum for the CIVILIZED discussion of the Miami Dolphins. In this phorum, there are rules and moderators to make sure you abide by the rules. The moderators for this phorum are JC and Colonel.
Look. Things suck right now. At least they are not sitting back, accepting the status quo. They are trying. I remember back in the saprano days and even Philbin, they would keep banging the square peg into the round hole.
Another funny thing is that do you guys get the irony of discussing how we should dump Campbell when you are coming off him getting beaten by ....guess who......OUR LAST INTERIM COACH....Todd Bowles who, after Sparano was fired, we let go and ended up getting............... wait for it.................wait for it......................wait for it......... wait for it..............Joe Philbin.
Jaws was on ESPN Radio today on the Jalen & Jacoby show, they were having a wonderful time talking about how hysterical the Dolphins have been this week, starting with Suh's comments to the team (that he denied), Pryor's twitter response to Tannehill's comments about him celebrating the injury to Matthews, the firing of Lazor and there was probably some other stuff thrown in there as well.
Anyway, Jaws said it's absurd that they fired Lazor at this point after firing Sherman prior because at some point the Dolphins need to address the real problem and not continually turn over offensive coordinators. No, he didn't spell out what he believed the "real problem" was.
Fine that Lazor went, he was brought in to satisfy Ross's continued dreams of a big play passing offense and this offense didn't come close to resembling Philly's since after the first Bills game a year ago. He was never implemented the hurry up aspect of it, he only had a year in the system so he wasn't really familiar with it, he stated it was a combination of a bunch of different concepts and systems with some of the plays coming from Chip Kelly's book but the blocking schemes were different, etc.
This, of course, makes nothing better. Sherman was replaced because the passing game wasn't producing enough big plays. Lazor was brought in to bring a supposedly high-powered big play attack and didn't. Firing Lazor and turning the playcalling over to Sherman's Son-in-Law surely isn't going to improve things. Especially not when Campbell really seems like he wants somebody to just run the ball 3 times and punt. Campbell's idea of aggressive on offense is clearly restricted to the individual performance level at the OL, not to offensive play calling or schemes, or down and distance decisions.
So expect no improvement, but at least he's gone. Hopefully he'll land somewhere else and be able to institute whatever he thinks an NFL offense should be rather than be saddled with pretending to run an offense he clearly knew very little about and didn't have confidence in.
All in all, not a wasted season. We don't have to wait worried that Philbin, Coyer or Lazor will be retained. And now we don't have to worry about Campbell or Taylor, either.
I was actually shocked to learn that Taylor had been the QB coach this entire time. You fire the O/Cor because you want more production from the passing game but then you keep the QB coach who is the former O/Cor's son-in-law?

It's like Parcell's penchant for bringing in former Cowboy players. Isn't insanity defined as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result?

I'm sure it's happened MANY times that the entire coaching staff is fired, but in the middle of the year?? This might be a first!

Not as much quick as unexpected timing. All 3 during the season, leaving us with a slew of rookie coaches thrown in to the fire. A definite pattern for disaster. I keep thinking back to that movie "Major League". Could it be Ross is trying to make the team so hated in Miami so he can just move them to L.A.?
