Our offense stinks, how can our First Round pick not be needed at this point? If it's because the rest of the receivers are good enough, and he wouldn't make an impact, what does that say about drafting him in the first place? Actually ChyrenB, you're completely wrong. There's no "intent" in the NFL rulebook for this. It is quite simply that hitting a QB below the waist and in the head are fineable offenses - even if there was no penalty drawn on the play for a rule violation. Don't see the issue. Hitting a QB below the waist and hitting a QB in the head are both penalties and both subject to fines. Vernon did both, got penalized for both and got fined for both. Having said all that, I'd tell Vernon to keep it up because that's how I roll.
