Pouncey has had notable problems with the shotgun snap since before he came into the league and it's popped its ugly head up since he's been here. He's never had a problem as pronounced as Douglas did, however.

Back to Joe re: Ragland: Do I think 8th is too high to draft him, yes. He's not Top 10 talent for 31 teams in the NFL. However, if you believe, like I did (at the time that I wrote that), our major concern on defense was MLB then I think you draft him in the 1st round. Sure, trade down if you can, but the top MLB should be our target. Having moved down from 8 to 13 makes Ragland more of a

I truly believe that this front office has sold Ross on the idea that this team is close and that's the reason why you see all these 2 year contracts. We go 10-6 this season, then you'll see Ross open up the checkbook and us try to grab a few of the big name free agents (again) with the hope that they, plus the improvement from our draft picks last year and this year will put us into Champions

The problem I have so far is what exactly is their plan with all these 1-2 year contracts, trades and restructurings? It looks to me like this front office either thinks we are going to be competing for championships the next two years, or they think they'll be able to replace all these guys in the next two drafts (plus all of the new holes that will occur in the next two years). Either cas

And reports are that Smith is going to miss at least the entire 2016 season and probably part of 2017 as well. Still want him at #8?

So the plan would be to trade Vernon and then use the 10th overall pick to draft his replacement? Or is the plan to trade Vernon and then just have a huge hole at DE? Because Shelby sucks. He's a rotational player. He's depth. That's all he is. You really want to go into next season with Shelby as our starting RDE? And its not like we could package the two picks to move up to fill a huge

Ehh... I don't want to get forced into a position of defending Philbin here because I hated the hire from the get go and every bit of information that came out about how he was running this team just cemented my hatred for him before we even played our first game. Having said that, if Tannehill had demonstrated the ability to take on more responsibilities in practice and in the film room, I th

I don't see how not believing that your QB has the capacity to call protections and call audibles is related to run/pass ratio. One is an offensive philosophy. The other is trust in your player based upon what you've seen in practice and what you've heard from them during film study.

Not to wade into the middle of the nice pissing contest the two of you have going on, but Ragland's my top pick for us in the 1st round. He's the best MLB in the draft and the best in a number of years and it's our biggest position of need and has been for quite some time. Now, I do agree that 8th overall is a bit higher than I would like, but that's just too bad. That's where our awful se

I don't think he said anything wrong. He was pretty much saying that you don't know if Tannehill is close to being a franchise caliber guy because the coaches never let him do the things that QB's need to do to hit that next level. If he had a body of work, making those decisions and leading the team appropriately, then you could make a determination how close or far away he is to guys like F

But part of the problem with the OL has been that Tannehill holds the ball too long and doesn't seem to have the instincts to avoid sacks while in the pocket. So while improving the OL would help the QB, the inverse is also true. Perhaps giving Tannehill more support (a longer leash) and more freedom at the line of scrimmage will allow him to get into better plays so he knows what he wants

The thing is that Peyton was doing that at UT. Peyton was running a Pro Style offense, calling audibles and commanding his team while in college. Having said that, if Christensen and Gase can make our offense look anything like the Colts offense with Peyton (even if the results aren't as good), I'll give them both my full support. It would be quite a change from previous coaches, such as L

I have every fear that he'll be a "typical Dolphins player", in that he'll make some spectacular plays now and then but not do so consistently enough to really be relied upon or to be counted as one of the best in the league.

My issue here is the probable chance for confusion. Gase was NOT the O/Cor in Denver when they adapted their offense to suit Tebow. That was McCoy. Now, that was a much better resume, IMO. He could work with Orton as a pocket passer or with Tebow and the spread/read option. Gase didn't do anything with Manning in Denver. If that wasn't clear enough before, it should be clear now that

I won't pretend to know anything about those guys and whether they are good hires or not. What I will say is that Cinci runs a 4-3, so I would expect us to continue with the 4-3 which removes a great deal of my angst. So now it's on to two things: 1) O/Cor - is Gase doing double duty here like a bunch of coaches in that he'll actually be calling the plays on Sunday? Or who is he going to

Well, like I said a couple of hours before it was actually known that Gase was going to be the guy - I'm not going to jump off of a cliff because of it. I think there were far better choices (Jackson for one, not to mention any of the "outside of the box" candidates that would have been exciting and interesting), but I'll give Gase a shot. I'll look to see if this "QB guru"

I'm not going to flip out and go crazy if we hire Gase. I'm not going to say "I'm done with the Dolphins, this is stupid, F This!" if they hire Gase. The hiring of Gase wouldn't be the same as our last two head coaches. Gase, at least, is a real offensive coordinator. Not an OL coach that had a O/Cor or Assistant Head Coach title just because they were in the league long enough fo

I don't see why anybody who think that Campbell would get anything other than another job as position coach after his time here is up. He hasn't shown any ability to be a coordinator, at all. It's not like he took the reigns on offense. He left Lazor in, then eventually fired him only to give Taylor the role of "play caller" but leave the O/Cor position vacant. If he had any idea

Kelly didn't do that. If you read the article, you'd know that. He was just pissed that a member of the team that is in charge of getting him talent was fired without his consultation. So he went to the owner and made sure that Roseman couldn't do that again. It doesn't matter, Kelly's not even on our radar. Tannebaum and Roseman are close buds. They are cut from the same cloth. They're n
