One of my all-time favorite Dolphins, so, sentimentally, I'm all for it. I think his tackling and ball skills would make him a good slot CB (think Terrell Buckley) or safety. He's a tad small for the S position.

I would love to have him with the following: - low salary + incentives - no demand to be #1 or even necessarily a starter - agreement that a good part of his contribution would be helping to develop our young receiving corps I think that probably lowers the chance to below 1%, but with those conditions I could envision a ton of upside. Ginn is probably built more like Harrison in term

I would love to see them stuck with two high-priced QBs. I also think it would be interesting to see how a negotiation might go between Pioli and NE. Would it be fair market value, or would there be a discount/premium based upon the relationship? I did just a little bit of research on the Pats salary cap situation, and it doesn't look pretty. Their top 5 cap hit players for 2009 eat up almo

I would be thrilled, btw, if our top 3 WR combined for 222 catches and nearly 3000 yards. It would likely indicate that we're running a lot of offensive plays and that Chad continues to be very efficient with a group of developing receivers, thereby taking a lot of pressure off the defense.

I won't be heartbroken if we don't get him, but I guess I like him well enough to see him being a part of the line at the price of 5-6 mill/yr. If we draft a C w/one of our first 3 picks and he fits the mold, then I'll bet he won't be quite as good in 09 as Brown, but will be cheaper and even younger and might develop to be better. However, we'll lose a chance at a 1st/2nd round talent at LB

I may be mistaken, but I think only Mangold and Mawae were selected last year for the AFC. Mangold is certainly a good C, and Mawae is probably among the best ever. We'd have to trade if we want either one of them, and Mawae is old. Mangold is playing under a rookie contract and likely will be paid like one of the best when his contract is up, or slightly before then. Historically, the PB h

Just curious...what makes you think that our WR corps is going to catch a combined 28 TD in 2009 when they combined for 5 in 2008 and the TE/RB corps caught 15 TD in 2008. Do you think they'll sort of re-focus the TD targets, or is it our entire WR corps just getting that much better and Chad throwing for +/-40 TD? Not bashing, just curious.

If healthy for all 16 games, 72 receptions, 1150 yards, 6 TD (total incl. rushing & returns) tons of other factors to consider, but it's the best I can do with the information at hand.

I think he is slowing down, as his YPC have pretty much dropped every year from 19.9 in 2000 to 12.4 last year. However, I think he would bring a ton to our receiving corps anyway. Although his measurables are remarkably similar to Camarillo and Bess, he seems like a much larger target. Bess seems to be best suited for the slot, WR screens, shallow crossing patterns, etc. Camarillo reminds me

1485. Torry Holt
I just read that the Rams were shopping Holt and Pace at the Sr. Bowl for 3rd round picks. I also read that their new coach may favor getting rid of their salary (even releasing them outright) in order to have more cap room available to build the defense with FA acquisitions. We took a flyer last year by trading a 4th round pick for Akin Ayodele and Tony Fasano. I would think a 4th rounder w

I'm quite sure he's not the player he once was...I'm not sure his style and our defense would be a good fit...over 1/2 of his career interceptions occurred in his 2nd-4th seasons 10 years ago. He and Surtain did some pretty phenomenal things together years ago, but Surtain was our best CB by the last couple of years he and Sam were both Dolphins. So, I'm really not thinking of him as a CB. I was hoping for Nnamdi because, like WR, I think CB is one of those positions that it is extremely rare for a player to come in as a rookie and play at a very high level. All of the positions take some getting used to, but it seems like G, RT, LB, RB are the positions where you see a relatively rapid transition from college to pro (for G and RT, it has a lot to do with the talent/cohesiveness o

Fitz is the best receiver on that team and probably the best WR in the league. However, AZ reportedly turned down a first-rounder for AB last year. Why would they take a 2nd rounder for him this year? He played at an incredible level this year, grabbing 11 TD in just 12 games. He displayed unbelievable toughness. And, he did all this even though he was incredibly dissatisfied with his cont

Does my heart good just to see NE NOT be a part of that list.

My thoughts on projected 2009 opening day lineup. I think it will change through the course of the season - even absent injury to some opening day starters. QB - Chad Pennington RB - Ronnie Brown FB - Lousaka Polite TE - Anthony Fasano WR - Ted Ginn WR - Camarillo/Bess LT - Jake Long LG - Justin Smiley C - Jason Brown (UFA/Ravens) RG - Donald Thomas RT - Vernon Carey DE - Kendal

Mistake or not, I happen to believe he stood a decent chance of surviving the next 5-6 games. I happen to think that Brown's injury wouldn't have occurred had Lemon not thrown the INT (because he wouldn't have been in the game). So, we'd have had a much more seasoned QB at the helm with an all-pro RB running and receiving better than at any time in his career. Including the Texas game (where

Too many 'ifs' to really tell. One primary 'if' in my mind is whether Cam might have entrusted the QB position to Quinn when Green went down and he would have won, let's say, 2 games instead of just one so late in the season. If that had happened, then we might have stuck with him (CamMueller) for another year and lost out on the trifecta, Pennington, etc. Another of the 'ifs' that is real

With nothing but humor intended... Actually, I think they were worried that Ginn's arms seemed to shrink when going over the middle I hadn't heard about Satele's arms one way or the other...

I didn't get to watch the whole game yesterday, but I didn't have to in order to know that Baltimore's defense is historic. In this game specifically, they held Willie Parker to 47 yards on 24 carries. It's been a while since I've seen a team that committed to getting a guy 20+ carries even though it was consistently not producing. It's been about 2 full seasons since they have allowed a 100
