I get discouraged but I also see the reasons why we have lost. Railing on about player this and mistake that really does no good...
This team needs another really good draft to get a few more players that can play at a high level immediately.
We need defensive help but we also need at least two big play (read fast) players on offense.
If we can field three players that have 4.3/4.4 spee

The biggest problem we have with these types of plays is the time issue IMHO...teams are stacking seven, eight and nine in the box to stop the run and then they are getting a good rush on Henne which results in not enough time to get the ball deep because of our slow receivers...as said Ginn's reduced playing time simply makes the situation worse as do dropped balls.

We need to wade into free agency with whatever it takes and get the best WR available...period and no excuses. Then we need to draft the best WR on the board in the first round.
Then we draft
2. LB/S
3. LB/S/DT
4. CB/S/DE
5. OL/WR
6. BPA
7. BPA
That leaves us with: (and I'd keep 6 WR's without question)
1. FA...must be reliable, speedy, and able to consistently make 15-2

People think Ginn is a bust due to where he was drafted...well maybe he isn't living up to the billing but where he was drafted was totally out of his control. He also may never be a #1 WR in the NFL but who cares? If he only turns out to be a quality #2 or #3 once we find the guys we need and that creates more open field for him to run in if he then becomes more productive I'll be happy.

Ginn was thrown to because he was wide open...thats the short, simple and accurate reason for it. Henne simply does not have the time to look at the numbers and decide who to throw to. Ginn does need some work but he's not the reason we are losing...for that there is PLENTY of blame to go around.
We need "mo-betta" players in three main areas.
Relying on Brown and Williams will o

Reports that I have read say that Turner isn't slacking off in practice but was dropping balls and running sloppy routes...those reports also said that he is getting better at both so we will see him get his chance sooner reather than later if he keeps it up IMHO.

Guys, Ginn didn't win the game all by himself. He did score the points we needed to win but without the TD by Henne we lose, and without the defense actually showing up in the fourth quarter we lose. Glad to see Ginn finally get a TD return (or two) without flags for a change. I just wish he'd make the big plays a bit more often...heck I'd be happy to see him make the little plays more often too.
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
You go for the sure points and kick the extra point...I'm not a fan of the two point conversion because it dosen't work often enough. If you need to do it to preserve a win or to win a game outright great. But otherwise forget going for two...JMO.
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Ginn was drafted to be a special teams star and to give us big play ability. Don't forget however that he was drafted by different coaches who were looking for different types of players. I think Cam, if he had stuck as our coach, would have added three or four more players with a skill similar to Ginn as WR's. Speed is what he was after, and IMHO, would have used to overwhelm opposing teams. Thi

Agreed, but we also need to have Henne taking quick throws especially against the blitz...the Jets are killing us today with it.
One, two or three step drops should be used much more on quick hit passes.
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Ginn should take up Duper's offer. Duper may have had some issues with drugs but he could play the game and could teach Ginn a thing or two about how to use his speed to good effect. McDuffie, while not fast did run great routes, was fearless, and was tough, all things Ginn could benefit from as far teaching technique and concentration goes.
JMO, but I don't think the coaches are doing enough
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Our O-Line is getting pushed around today...they have also not been able to deal with the blitz at all.
Then field position for us has largely stunk...and we are tring to throw out of the wildcat entirely too much...the Jets are all over it today.
Henne is going to have to throw a bit today for us to win the game.
Also, not to toot my own horn but I said before the game we should go dee
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Hey Mark Duper is willing to help him get better...if he has a brain in his head he'll take him up on the offer. He could also ask for a guy like OJ McDuffie's help as I'm sure he give it.
He needs to focus and develop, toughness and route running skills...then go out and catch 1000's of balls during the season as well as in the off season.
After all, having a guy like Chris Carter around s

If rooting for the Pats in a single game is the price for keeping the Phins record intact, I think I could stomach the poison.
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Guys, none of us know what is going on with Ginn or why he is not performing well. I'm all for shaking things up but Ginn has shown that he can catch, and he has also shown that he can drop passes. I hope the coaches can figure out what buttons to push because the team can use his speed.
If I had to make the call on him this week I wouldn't start him...but I would have him on the field within
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
I don't think Ginn is a bust...yet. He has to become more consistent and catch more balls more often, that much is a given. But, there are reasons why he hasen't done that so far. The rest of the offense has limited his production, Pennington also limited his production, the other receivers have as well, and then there is the fact that he had to endure coaching and phlosophical changes while he l
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
He played a good game...not great but good...he made too many off target throws to suit me and locked onto a few receivers but he did show poise and managed the game effectively without making big mistakes. Thats all I could have asked of him in his first or even his twentieth start.
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Agreed, pass blocking is a bit of a weakness at times right now. The run blocking could also stand to get a bit more aggressive too...man wouldn't that be great!

Yeah and you don't let it go either...just as bad IMHO. Anyway, Thigpen was IMHO brought in to compete for the starting job because he does have talent despite what some on here think. I watched him play quite a bit last year a

You give him all of the available games. A handfull of games is not enough and six would be just that, a handfull. ALL we should be looking for is improvement in each game...IMPROVEMENT however, does in no way mean that we have to win those games. If Henne goes for multiple games while showing no improvement or regresses badly then we give another player a shot...but ONLY if Henne does not get an

Thigpen isn't a bad player...I watched a few Chiefs games when he played, he's got some promise and he can play in the NFL. Good pick up for us.

Our track record with quartebacks really does not suck...Our patience with them does however suck. There is no way that one can make an educated decision about a quarterback after only a handfull of games.

So Terell Owens must stink too because he didn't have a single catch yesterday either.
I do agree however that Ginn needs to tighten up and get his Sh&t straight!
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
We don't need to trade Ginn guys. Henne has a bigger arm and more ability to throw so we need to keep Ginn and see if they can build a raport together and get the down field game working. Beyond that we need to draft a premium player or two at WR to elevate everyone else.
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
You are not the only one on this board that wants the team to play better and improve but the reality is what we are witnessing every weekend. The team is not very good right now and it is not because of poor talent. It is because of poor execution and poor decisions mixed with quite a bit of bad luck and inexperience on the part of a few new players.
Improvement will take time and another inj
