I agree about Wilkins but at least one could say that Miami was unwilling to pay what Vegas paid him. There was no excuse for Van Ginkel. He could've been resigned for about what the Barrett. Plus, with the injury history of Phillips and Chubb, it was a position of need. Grier had no excuse for not resigning Van Ginkel except for being an incompetent boob.

When Grier let Van Ginkel go and instead replaced him with Shaq Barrett, I knew it was a huge mistake. Barrett retires and Van Ginkel has 11.5 sacks and two pick sixes for the Vikings. He makes second team all pro. The Vikes just extended him one year 24 million. It's not even like 2024 was an anomaly. Van Ginkel was a playmaker for the Phins anytime he was on the field. Grier is absolutely clu

The SB result proves a couple of things to me. 1. Fangio can flat out coach defense. I'm not sure what happened in Miami. I know that Fangio is a Philadelphia guy and so maybe Miami was never in his long-term plans, but all the bad talking done by Miami's defensive players didn't age well. 2. I don't care who your QB is, if your offensive line can't pass block, you aren't going to win. Ma

Chris Grier has been GM of the team since 2018 (I say 2018 because that's when Tannenbaum was given the bum's rush). I'd say 7 years is enough time for a GM to put his stamp on a team's roster. Forgetting about Mike McDaniel, let's assume Andy Reid was coaching this year's roster. How many of you think that Miami would have been a true SB contender? If you don't think they would have been, then I

During Dan Marino's final years at QB for Miami, the team had suffered yet another disappointing end of the season, Offensive coordinator, Gary Stevens was taking a lot of heat for a lackluster offense. He responded with something along the lines of, "Other than Danny, who do we have? You can't make chicken salad out of chicken s***." All the coaching in the world isn't going to make Ei

What's the over/under on whether the first game of next year's season will feature both Eichenberg and Jones as your starters at guard. Any barely competent GM would give up on both of them. They were historically bad. But Miami doesn't have a barely competent GM. I actually think that there's a chance both are back starting. The chances of at least one being a starter is in my opinion almost a c

Miami won't sniff a championship while Grier is in charge of personnel. Period. If he is still GM next year, it's proof that Ross doesn't care about winning.

It's been discussed how Miami has missed out on some all pro players instead drafting guys like Austin Jackson, Noah Igbinoghene, Charles Harris... the list goes on. What's stings maybe even more is that Miami had Dan Campbell as their interim head coach and instead of keeping him the next year, hired Adam Gase. That's like trading in a Mercedes for a riding lawn mower that's missing three tires.

100% without even a .00000001% doubt. I'm sick of Grier's drafts (if he is still in charge next year, I'm sure with the first pick, he'll take another corner who will only make the roster because he's an early pick and then just sign a tackle or guard who went undrafted as an after thought). I can guarantee he'll extend Eichenberg and Jones and laugh when asked about why there were no upgrades to

Sorry for the mistaken post. I was pretty shook up being reminded that we could've had Justin Jefferson and Jonathan Taylor instead of Austin Jackson and Noah Ibinoghene. Lemon juice? More like hydrochloric acid.

Yes, we disagree. When I look at the game, I find it hard to believe that not being able to run it in from the GB 1 yard line wasn't the biggest problem that lost the game. Moreover, when a defense knows that you can't get a yard, it makes your offense pretty predictable. The running backs had 12 carries for 33 yard. That's 2.75 yards a carry. For perspective, that includes Mostert's 12 yard run

Honestly, don't you think that perhaps having 38 rushing yard for the entire game had a hand in the loss? The defense missing 20 tackles might have been more at fault than the 20 percent of the throws that Tua missed? The zero sacks of Love? Maybe the special teams that gifted GB 7 points right off the bat? Truth be known, Tua, Jonnu Smith, and maybe Waddle are the only players that didn't embar

I've accepted that a sizeable percentage of fans will never accept Tua for one reason or another but if you're going to blame him for last night's loss, note one amazing stat. 39 total yards rushing (6 of which were Tua) for a 2.8 yard per carry average. How many QBs are going to win consistently when they have no running game. Not a below average running game but NO running game. Add into that m

That's fair enough. My biggest frustration is with how long this team has been hamstrung by crappy Offensive line play. That's my biggest gripe against Grier. Other than Grier, who thought going into this season that Offensive line wasn't going to be a problem? I think the whole, "Miami can't win in the cold" narrative stems from poor offensive line play. When it's cold you need to run

Honestly, Brewer may not be great, but Eichenberg and Jones are far worse. I doubt they could start on any other roster.

What makes a team physical is the offensive and defensive lines. Outside of Armstead, this offensive line is a collection of milquetoasts. As far as the defensive line, Sieler and Campbell are pretty much on their own. Chris Grier is the only person I can think of who been with a team for more than decade with nothing to show for it but continues to be employed. The reason he laughed when asked a

The only way to fix this mess (aside from Stephen Ross selling the team to an owner who isn't clueless) is to fire Chris Grier and let the new GM decide on the coaching staff. Grier has been an abject failure as GM. He's had total control of football operations since 2016. In eight years, he hasn't been able to field a team that had a realistic championship roster. His drafts have been at times a

I totally agree. I mentioned Thompson's performance in the Buffalo playoff game. I neglected to mention his performance in the 2022 season finale Jets game. He was 20 of 31 for 152 yards, no TDs and no INTs. The offense scored 9 points at home against a Jets team that was 7 and 10, had nothing to play for, and Miami needed the win to make the playoffs. I'd note that Tyreek, Waddle, and Mostert al

The reason I think that Skylar Thompson or Mike White would be disastrous is I've seen them play. You brought up Thompson's performance in the Bills playoff game. He was 18 of 45 for 220 yards 1 TD and 2 INTs. One of the touchdowns was a fumble return for a TD by Seiler and Cedric Wilson had a 50 yard punt return to set up another score. Two Allen INTs gave Miami short fields for scores. Thom

The worst thing Ross has done to this team is when he hired Mike "the Franchise Killer" Tannenbaum to be in charge. Every thinking person knew that it would be a disaster. I wonder what made Ross think Tannenbaum could run a franchise? Perhaps when he traded up for Mr. Butt Fumble or when he signed him to a big money extension?

We can respectfully disagree on why the Dolphins have had trouble in the later stages of the season, but it still begs the question of, if not Tua, then who? I seriously doubt Miami will pick high enough in next year's draft to have a shot at any of the premium QB prospects. Even if they did, a rookie QB is a crap shoot at best. Think Zach Wilson and Justin Fields. I think we can agree that Mike
