This is an odd topic to try to address after we just won a game with our undrafted 3rd year scrub TE making huge plays and scoring TD's because our top two TE's are out with injuries. Isn't it? Seems to me that when you can still go this far down the depth chart and come up with this level of production, our focus for improving the team and spending draft picks should be elsewhere.

The Dolphins will never be more than playoff "contenders" until they get a franchise QB. Even then, this team still has enough holes that it won't be a championship "contender" until they are all filled. Hell, look at what is going on in Green Bay. And they've got a great QB. Anybody saying Tannehill is "good enough" needs only look to Green Bay and actuall

I actually stood up and cheered and shouted at the top of my lungs on the 20 yard td run. Not just because it was a great play, but because he had lost 6 yards on his previous 3 or 4 carries I was worried we were going to stop trying to run the ball against the best run defense in the league. After sleeping off my beers, I woke up to watch the 2nd half of the Raiders/Broncos game and the diff

So this is what I saw.. The defense is horrific. I think Suh was the only starter on the DL and if this keeps up, he's going to get pissed again. If you aren't going to play your other starters, why are you playing him? I don't know if our "starters" were playing at LB, but whomever was on the field (I know Jenkins was because he was called out repeatedly for being out of position

Eh? I don't see it. I know I've only been contributing on this board for a bit, but I've been contributing and lurking on Dolphins forums for over 15 years. There's been nothing new posted on Finheaven,Phinfever or the thephins for the past two months either. Sure, different "factions" can get into their squabbles that will create a multiple page thread, but there's nothing in an

Almost as bad an idea as trading back into the first to take a guard. LOL what was SF thinking?

Ugh. Getting the Tannehill excuses ready already? Damn. I would think even the most ardent Tannehill supporter would agree that the OL shouldn't be an issue and if it's not, then Tannehill should significantly improve. Anyway.. back to Tunsil. What gets me is that a number of teams had already projected Stanley and Conklin as better fits because both were seen as 4 position players while Tu

I agree with Joe on Fuller and Ogbah. My buddy is a OKSTATE alum and we watch a lot of their games together. I have no idea how a bum like Lawson gets drafted ahead of Ogbah, he's a beast. I'd add a couple as well: Hunter Henry Reggie Ragland (even with his medical condition) Derrick Henry (looks like we might have an OL that can suit his skill set now!) Su Cravens (scheme flexibility is

Eh? Were you just trying to find a slot to stick EE in so he didn't fall to the Dolphins? Or do you have some inside information on Hyde's recovery that the rest of the world doesn't know about? He is supposedly fully recovered, and has said how thrilled he is to be playing in Chip Kelly's offense that he is more familiar with and loves. Now, it is true that despite popular opinion, Kell

That doesn't really clarify things for most of us. Is Tannehill the biggest problem on this team or not? You said NO, he's not the "biggest" problem. But you said he's the "main" problem. I think I actually agree with your position, but you're not relating it very well for me to be sure. What I THINK you're saying is that there are positions where our talent is worse

It's interesting, I'm one who is a believer in analytics, I realize that football is more team oriented than baseball, but that just means the computations and simulations have to be more complex - not that they can't still be beneficial. But I don't see there's much chance it this testing method helping us for this year's draft. The most it can do is establish a baseline to be tested against

If Paxton Lynch were available at #13, wouldn't that be considered "falling into our lap"? Considering he was the projected #1 overall pick and 1st QB taken for quite awhile before Goff solidified himself and Wentz jumped up the board like a mad man.

If it cost us a 3rd and 6th to move back to our original position at 8, essentially we'd have: #8 - Elliot #42 - Unknown #73 - Maxwell #107 - Unknown #147 - Unknown #186 - Alonso #227 - Unknown #231 - Unknown When you approach it that way, it's not really bad at all. We use #42 on a guard and we've address all of our needs and have 2 5th round picks and 2 7th round picks still to pl

Henry is not a first round pick, certainly not at 13. To answer the question, I would not be surprised at all if Henry is not the second back selected he might be third or fourth. I also would not be surprised if Conklin is drafted before we even get a shot at him. Draftniks always under value OL. I think it is very possible you will see three tackles gone before we pick at 13.

Huh? Both Stanley and Conklin are great candidates to be drafted and play guard for a year or two and then kick outside to tackle (even left tackle) later on. In fact, as much as I want this team to get a playmaker at #13, I'm leaning towards them drafting one of the two and solidifying the OL so I can stop hearing excuses about how horrible our offense is because of the guard position. I als

Sorry, Joe, I misread your post. I thought you were listing the players that you didn't want the Dolphins to draft because, you know, that was the title of the thread and the exercise. Turns out you were listing the players that you DID want the Dolphins to draft at 13 so you do want players like Conklin and Floyd. Which makes far more sense and we are in agreement. The GREAT ONE refer

Hmmm.. Interesting. Both you and Joe put no votes on Floyd. What is the knock on Floyd? At least he's a true linebacker, unlike Lee. I'm also curious as to why Joe doesn't like Conklin, but I was too focused on his Anti-position stance to get into his actual anti-player positions. And I guess this thread could be opened up, if the GreatOne doesn't have a bunch of HELL NO'S and only a coup

Okay, that's awesome, thanks for your response because now we have a discussion point. You went beyond individual players and stated that you will not support the Dolphins drafting any WR, any DT, any DE or any QB... regardless of who the pick actually is. That is a far more narrowing situation than the one that I'm looking at. And I'm curious as to why? Let's start in the order you list

It'll be interesting to see if they decide to just stay on the west coast rather than flying back after the San Diego game and before the LA game.

There's lots of draft threads here and lots of them have these opinions already dispersed throughout, but I thought it might be nice to have them all in one place. Also, this draft is widely regarded as having lots of decent talent outside of the Top 10. When I was looking towards contributing to the other threads (Miami should draft OL, etc), I realized there's a number of players and positio

Cousins was a top collegiate QB who dropped due to various reasons his senior year, he's almost exactly like Cook. (Same school, too) I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Cook duplicate the situation of Cousins and give some team a difficult choice to make when his rookie contract is up. We aren't drafting a QB in this draft, Gase has made it clear that his entire career with the Dolphins i

So, does nobody else have a problem with the reports that our front office thought that Anderson was a BETTER back than Miller? Forget everything else, just that fact alone is mind blowing. And, if they did truly think he was a better back, why didn't they make him the same offer they made Miller that maybe Denver wouldn't have matched? I'm fine with Elliot at 13, but I think he'll be go

Glad Denver matched it. I don't see where Anderson is anything more than JAG that can be found in the bottom rounds of the draft. Oh, I know. The plan was to use that 6th or 7th round pick on our starting guard. Whoops.

I think you can thank Vernon and the NYG for this trade happening, they knew Jones was going to want more money next year and the Pats weren't going to pay it. So they got a one year rental/reclamation project at guard and a second round pick instead of getting the third round comp pick next year.

Anybody who is comfortable with going into the season with Alonso as our MLB is the same idiot who was comfortable with going into the last two seasons with Delmas as our starting safety.
