Not Henry that is for sure....
I will be happy with either a CB, LB, or Oline... Oh and he has to be good and a starter out of the gate.... Is that too much to ask?

I would say punter but we have a good one.

That said, I think getting a young athletic coitusback killer like OV would be a good idea since we lost our best young talent on the Dee Line needlessly when we could have inked a new contract with the kid well before FA etc.

And then we need to replace LeMarvelous Miller with a RB -- but since we have so many draft picks we can afford to use them on previously solved positions while ignoring chronically unsolved positions like OL LB CB and...

I would like Elliot or Hargreaves to fall to us, but in the event both are gone my preference would be Jack Conklin. I think he could end up being another Zach Martin type player, and if he did become that, we would have a serious upgrade on our O-Line. He could slot in at RT and move James inside, or we could bring Conklin in at left guard, and perhaps groom him to be Albert's successor. That said, drafting a corner and waiting until day two or three for O-Line help could be the way.

I voted upgrade the O-Line, but we have a fair few options on draft day on which position to address first.

I'm still going with Doctson. Although, I do like Henry, but I like Doctson more. I'd go Doctson, Elliot before Henry.

CB is a major need, however, if Miami shores up their DL, then that can take the pressure off of our DBs and hopefully what Miami presently has can hold up in the secondary.

Conklin may turn out to be a good NFL OL, but I'm not sure about pick 13.

My guess would be that if Miami stays at 13, that they would take the BPA at CB, DE, LB, or OL.

Interesting, you don't generally see people tip us to draft another first round receiver. But Doctson, Parker and Landry would be a handful for any opposition defense to handle!

It's just a preference thing for me. It's not really about who is better. Some fans like Corey Coleman, I've read he reminds them of Steve Smith Sr. of the Panthers with speed.
I just love that Doctson owns the high point at the boundary, jumps 41", and has sticky hands. The rest of his game is iffy as far as sloppy feet and very poor blocking. But I don't care about that.

The closer we get to the draft, the more I hear good things about Conklin. Someone on my twitter feed just said he could end up being THE best player in the draft. That's a stretch for a lineman, especially one who is projected to guard but a pretty good endorsement.

I don't want any receiver in the first three rounds. Especially one known for having the dropsies like Coleman and Fuller. Stills will have a much better year and closer to his time in NOLA. He's always had good hands.

As far as the poll goes...to hard to choose one answer

1. Hell no to Henry at 13
2. No RB outside of EE is worth a 1st
3,4 & other all depends on which player is available, not position.

Derek Henry is a 2d round pick at best. He seems to me like a plodding Brandon Jacobs type with a ton of tread on his tires, which is not conducive to a long or dynamic NFL career. Is one of the options in this poll really to draft Derek Henry at #13?

I don't see why not. For a team looking to improve toughness and yardage at he position, and get a legit workhorse for the one-cut zbs running scheme, Henry is just what the doc ordered. He is redzone threat, and scoring is what it's all about.

Conklin just may turn out to be a very good player, but best player in the draft?

With the 13th pick, Miami has pushed itself out of range of a "blue chip" player. They "should" be able to get a very good player who should start right away. If Miami stays at 13, it is BPA, and since they have so many holes, the position is not important. If Elliot is there, then that's the pick unless Miami has a different name at the top of their board.

The rest of the way, it is still BPA, but looking towards CB, pass rusher, OL.

I don't care if LaGarrette re-signed, I'll betcha New England grabs Henry.

Is Henry even the second RB taken next week? Serious question?

Who knows?! It's tough to predict where RBs will go this yr bc of the great upcoming class. Heck, Henry may end up in the fifth round.

For those who want to see what a 6-4, 240 rb with great feet looks like, check out Jalen Hurd on YT.

I really want no one at 13. This Team is in need of way more then just 1 player at any position no matter how good they are. I am hoping for a trade down . I agree Henry is no #13 overall pick. But he is a great 2nd rounder. Lets trade down and grab Henry with extra picks for CB and OL. thumbs upsmileys with beer

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

I'm sure we all know, Treasure, that unless one of their guys on the top of their board is there when 13 rolls around, that Miami would love to trade back.

The problem I see within that scenario is that there will probably be three, maybe four, teams in the top 10 that will "probably" be moving down (not including the top two spots).

The #13 pick will then not look too good for anyone, unless a guy a team just has to have is there.

But, I don't see Miami moving, unless they make a dumb move and give up #13 for a pick late in the first or early in the second, which, more than likely, will not get Miami a sure starter.

In the early days, we were a great team because we drafted great talent. That's not usually a guard or a corner.

Agreed, as Bill Russell ssid, this game has always been about buckets. Well, we cant score and that is the #1 need in the draft, scoring talent.

Henry is not a first round pick, certainly not at 13.

To answer the question, I would not be surprised at all if Henry is not the second back selected he might be third or fourth.

I also would not be surprised if Conklin is drafted before we even get a shot at him. Draftniks always under value OL. I think it is very possible you will see three tackles gone before we pick at 13.

I'm still a believer in "the game is won in the trenches" theory. A running back of any sort is a waste on an incomplete team like the 2016 Miamians are . So many needs. If only we'd gone BPA and with a movement towards youth instead of inferior veteran cast-offs all this time , this team might have had a chance to emerge from this plague of mediocrity .

In the early days, corners were nowhere near as important as they are nowadays. Conklin is a tackle who can probably play 4 spots on the line.

I'm not sure why there is worry over NE drafting one particular RB like Henry. They don't put a lot of value in that position to begin with.

They also don't have much luck in identifying RB talent. Lots of misses in the draft for years.

There is probably a better chance they draft another RB that is probably a better fit in Miami and NE. DeVontae Booker at 61 or 62. He is rumored to be on their draft radar.
