No Kolb. Every time somebody mentions that, God kills a kitten. ....................................

His accuracy improves out of the pocket? That is bizzare.

I took a look at the top 10 running backs in the league for the 2010 season. Barely 40% were first round picks. For the top 10 QBs, this number was 70%. Picking a RB in the first round is dumb unless the player is really something special. Even then, this team has too many needs. Oline Oline Oline!!!!!

Please dont tell me Miami is thinking of signing this guy? Did you read that somewhere? He isnt even that good. If Miami really wanted to improve the defense several fold, we should get that Ashamamashoogana fellow out of Oakland. He is one of the few true shut down corners in the league.

Toko - his accuracy seemed reasonable. I dont have a good feeling either unless he was cheap. Who knows what Philly would ask for him. I still curse Wanny and Speilman for the AJ Feeley disaster. I am so sick of this conversation. I wish we could find a GOOD QB for the next decade. The closest we have had since Marino was Fiddler. How messed up is that?

Besides the fact that we bombed in the last deal when we traded for a Philadelphia QB, what would be so bad about getting Kevin Kolb? I dont know much about him but his stats are encouraging and he is young.

Goodbye to both. They both suck at this point and they would have to be paid far more than they are worth.

He is probably a friend of someone's. Need a job? Yeah, lets see what we have open....here QB coach. Never played QB? Doesn't matter, just take the job. Tell my uncle I say hello.

Mia - you nailed it. The only point in Ireland saying this is to telegraph their intention to keep Henne for next season. I doubt we will be seeing a high pick going toward QB in the draft.

Are we really supposed to be impressed with Sanchez? I know the NY hype machine wants us to, but if you look at his numbers, he is worse than Henne.

He is intriguing. Had an almost 100 QB rating last season. My gut says no though. Maybe he reminds me of Culpecker too much.

I didnt mean to imply it was easy. I was emphasizing how difficult it is to find a quality LT.

Aqua, I say that because it is almost unheard of to find even a starter quality left tackle after round 3, whereas many good QBs are found in the later rounds. I had no qualms at the time and still do not second guess the decision to take Long with the first pick in 2008.

I am not sure which is worse, being called a "Jets fan" or "dumb".

Chyren, I am glad someone has figured it out. That is pretty much exactly what happened. Can we move on?

139. Re: Hanie
Besides, how many thousands of times have we seen a struggling starting QB go down, replaced by some no name guy who then lights it up? This kind of thing is proverbial because defenses have a totally different game plan depending on who is QBing.

I was a member of Curt's email dolphins list way back in 1996 or 97. I honest to God thought the Jets were going to win it all after they beat the Pats. I certainly wasnt happy about it. As a matter of fact, it has been a nightmare. I live in NYC and I have to hear about how great they are 24/7.

I tried doing an analysis like this a few years back. You have to use a more objective scoring method. Jake Long was a great pick. Left Tackle might be the hardest position to fill. For a quick and dirty measure, i used whether or not a player had ever been to the probowl. A much better indicator (but far more time consuming) would be to see how many standard deviations above the mean a player

Wow. My very own super duper thread. Very nice guys. The Jets are so @#$%& next year. About half their team are FAs. They were built to win this year and they didnt get it done. Also if I remember correctly, they gave up some future draft choices in trades for thugs. They would really be in horrendous shape if Eric Mangini was never coach of the Browns.
